Here's Camille's backstory:
Camille was born into a Noble Family in northern France. She was pretty happy when she was really young. She used to play everyday with her parents, who apparently was pretty nice considering how Nobles acted back then. She got a home-made doll from her parents on her 2nd birthday which she cherished. But things took a dark turn when French revolutionaries stormed their house and kidnapped Camille and her parents. They were taken to “Place De La Révolution”, where Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette had been executed a year earlier. They threw Camille to the street because "She was just a kid" and took the parents to be executed. Camille did not yet understand what was happening. Some kids ran up to Camille and started kicking her, calling her "Stupid Noble" and similar stuff. The parents were brought up to the guillotine, The father was the first one to be executed. When Camille saw her father get decapitated while smiling at her was life-scarring, something she would never forget. Her mother's turn was up. Camille ran towards the guillotine the best she could, She couldn't lose both her parents on the same day, right? That's want she wanted to believe but Life had a different thing in mind. Camille had miraculously almost reached the guillotine and reached her hand out to save her mother. Right at that moment the executioner dropped the rope. Her mother died and her head fell in front of her. The different thing was that the executioner now took up the head and showed it to the whole crowd, The whole crowd cheered in happiness. How could they be happy? Camille thought in her head. This whole thing would later be known as the Reign of Terror led by Robespierre, where around 40.000 people would be killed in panic because the first coalition had just begun. The thing ended in 1794 when Robespierre himself got executed by a guillotine. But Camille's unhappiness didn't end there. After everything Camille had lost everything and lived on the street for a couple of months, stealing and doing petty crimes to survive. She was living for the sake of living. That all changed when a "peasant" family took her home and adopted her. For the first time she saw hope again. She would enjoy many years with this happy family until a couple of months ago when the father requested to talk with Camille about something. They had decided to marry Camille away to earn a lot of money. Camille found out that the real intention of them adopting her that she could be married away for a lot of money because she was a noble in blood. Camille decided to run away a couple of days later after meeting Karl and his family. She ran from her house and onto the streets again with only the doll she'd had for 15 years of her life. A couple of days later she saw Napoleon's army march back after a victory in battle. She had nothing so she decided to join the army to protect the country that had taken everything from her.

After hearing this I was determined to save Camille.
I don't know what was wrong with me earlier but how could I even think to abandon one of my friends.
Who cares about rights? Sometimes you just have to do what's right and not care about the consequences.
It seemed as though this Karl guy came from a pretty powerful family.
With this new outlook on the situation, I said to Camille
"Don't worry, I'll never lose to someone as scummy as that guy. I'll save you"
She looked at me with a much happier expression, she wiped her tears and said
"Mm... Thank you"
I'm a pretty careful person, so I thought in the back of my mind that this was a setup of some kind.
But when looking back and remembering her tears and face I wouldn't think so.
"Come on, I'll escort you to your room" I said
"Thank you, follow my lead then" Camille said and rose up to walk.
We walked towards her dorm and on the way we stumbled upon all the other members of Squad 95 except for Maxime, We all walk together.
But when we went down the big hall, I caught Karl in my line of sight.
He noticed us walking and approached us.
"So, Camille. Have you accepted your fate yet? By the way, I want 3 children" He said and started laughing.
Camille opened her mouth to say something but I held my arm in front of her to say that I'll handle it.
I start walking towards him, slowly but surely.
We're about equally long.
He gives me a really weird look. I start talking with an aggressive attitude
"I wouldn't be too sure about that. You'd think I'd just let you do whatever you want with my friend? Look, I don't care if you're famous or what but you don't treat humans like this."

I could see him get slightly intimidated but still responded
"Oh, yeah? Think you can beat me or what? You're just a weakling, nothing more than trash"
I wouldn't let him do this, judging from his personality he'd probably done shitty stuff like this before and had gotten away with it. I responded
"I'll show you in the tournament what you've done wrong with my fists"
He let out a "Hmph" and walked away, seeming annoyed.
I look back and see everybody standing frozen and astonished, especially Camille.
"I would've never expected you to be that kind of person" Juliette said.
"I'm usually not this aggressive and violent, but people like him just flip my switch. I know how it feels to be forced into a corner having no other option. At those moments I always hoped there would come someone to save me, but that someone never came"
I answered.
We escorted Camille back to her room and went off to our own rooms.
But not me however, I had to train for the tournament.
The tournament was no longer just about getting into Squad 95, It had more important meaning now.
The reason I was so serious about this was that when I was younger I didn't really care about my friends, so they all left me after a while.
For several years I was completely alone, no one to interact with. Even though I deserved it, even though it was my own fault, It still hurt. There are two different kinds of lonely. The one you choose, and the one you get forced into.
I'm taking this transport into a parallel universe as a chance to change myself and come back to the "real" world as a decent person.
I used to be super mean when I was younger, not to the point of a bully.
If that was the case I'd never be able to forgive myself.
Although I had gotten nicer in the last couple of months before this.
I needed to get stronger physically and as a person if I wanted to return back to my own world.
