《The French Conflict》Chapter 4: The Speech of Hope

I and what I presume is "Squad 95" walk towards a big hall.
I look around us and see a lot of sad people, maybe they lost someone special in the recent battle. From what I remember it was a pretty devastating battle.
I felt empathy towards them, I knew how it felt to lose someone special. I lost my father when I was 6 years, I was scarred but I try to look past it and not lose my sanity.
The other guys looked pretty sad as well, except for Juliette. But I guess she usually didn't show emotion but felt it instead.
We enter the big hall and I can immediately feel the sadness from the people around.
"We're going backstage, you can take a seat over there" Antoine said and pointed to some chairs a couple of meters away.
"Yeah, sure" I responded and proceeded to sit down in a chair in the back.
A couple of minutes pass and I'm bored, how long am I supposed to wait?
More people are coming in.
I take a look around the room and see someone standing by the exit with a hoodie on. Did hoodies exist at this time? I wasn't sure, even if they didn't they could have existed here because it's a parallel world. Although that doesn't sound that convincing, blaming everything on the parallel world didn't seem realistic.
Whatever it was, out of boredom, I decided to follow this person with my eyes.
I was kind of suspicious, The person kept looking around as if He/She was paranoid. The person looked my way and we made eye contact, as soon as we did He/She disappeared. Was it a spy? It was very probable that a spy would exist here, maybe it was one of the ones summoned here considering he/she just teleported, I think.
I redirected my eyes towards the stage as someone approached it.
"Hello everyone. I'm Napoleon" Someone on the stage said. Was this Napoleon!?
The guy on stage didn't look older than 19, Nothing like the one in my world.
No one reacted in a weird way so I guessed that it really was Napoleon.
"Our last battle was a success, and a defeat. A lot of people died and more got injured, including one young boy who almost died during an encounter with the enemy general. But luckily we succeeded in saving him, all thanks to Squad 95!" He continued.

Were they talking about me? That's shocking, to say the least.
Squad 95 entered the stage and people immediately looked better.
"Even though we have been through some tough times and there will be more to come. We mustn't give up! Our war against emperors and kings oppressing their people will continue and I will make sure it succeeds." He said with a bright look on his face.
This Napoleon was really different from the one I know.
I noticed a presence above me, I look up and see some red and yellow aura.
It's another summoned person!
While Napoleon continued his hopeful speech I went outside to deal with the potential assassin.
I wasn't about to let anyone kill the leader of my country. "my country" sounds weird,
I mean I'm not from France in my original world.
I go outside the hall and nobody's there, I guess this is the best time to turn on my power and hunt this person down.
I turn on my power and the blue aura flows around my hand again, I feel my pupil change nad new power flowing in.
"Hi, We meet again" Someone said.
What? I look around, Nobody's around. Even more, the voice sounds familiar.
"It's me, your power. Remember? We met inside your head when you were knocked out" Someone continued. Oh, I remember it's the woman who I met in my head.
"Wait, can you talk to me whenever you want to?" I asked
"No, only when you turn your power on" She answered.
"Ok, So do the other summoned people also have powers that can talk?" I asked
"Yes all of them do" She responded
"Ok. What do I call you?" I asked
"My name is Amanda" She answered
"Ok, wha----" I said before getting interrupted by Amanda
"Shouldn't we be going after the assassin?"
"Oh yeah" I said and started running
I decided to experiment with my new powers, but what can these powers do? I thought that maybe I could activate some special abilities. That failed.
"You can't do that yet" Amanda said
"yet?" I asked. Maybe I could have special abilities but there were some conditions for using them.
"You're not strong enough to activate any special abilities. You're gonna have to train to unlock them" Amanda said
"Well, What can I do then!?" I asked, half-pissed off. Being called weak multiple times a day isn't the most fun thing.

"At your level, you can probably only focus the energy into an area" Amanda said.
I tried focusing the energy into my legs, I saw the blue aura move towards my legs. I immediately started running faster. But I saw something at the corner of my vision, a blue bar. It was steadily decreasing.
"The bar you're seeing is your energy bar. When it drops to zero your power immediately turns off and you get a cooldown of 3 minutes. Energy recovery is different for every person" Amanda said, it's kind of frightening that she can read my mind.
I try to jump and I fly 10 meters into the air.
While I'm in the air I try to look for somewhere to land without killing myself.
I almost scream because I'm about to drop to my doom. But luckily I manage to grab onto the ledge of the roof, I climb on and see a hooded person in the distance.
That's the assassin!
I pour more energy into my legs and run towards the person at a very fast rate.
I try to divide my remaining energy in half.
I take that half and pour it into my fist, I continue to run and prepare to throw my punch at this person.
I hope I succeed this time, contrary to what happened at the battle with the general.
I come very close to the person and he/she notices me. I throw the punch, and...
I land it!
Well, kind of.
I managed to land the punch on the person's shoulder.
I hear this from the person
"Eeeeh~"
That voice sounds feminine.
Is this a girl!?
The person holds it's shoulder and prepares to strike back.
The momentum I built up during the punch made me almost fly in the air.
The person brings both its hands forth and prepares some sort of beam.
I get a terrified look on my face because I know I can't dodge it.
The beam shoots out and I get thrown into a wall.
"Are you serious? That used up 5% of my power and you still flew away" The person said.
I can't lose again, It seems as though I'm the weakest among the summoned people. That sucks, but I still have to win.
I pour the rest of my energy into my legs and jumps towards the person, I unhood Him/Her and see the real face.
It's a woman, Brown hair, looks like she's from the Mediterranean area.
She has a beautiful face, Is everyone in this world good-looking?
I get kind of jealous because I'm not that good-looking.
"I won't let you kill our leader!" I screamed.
I pin her down and question her.
"Where're you from?"
"Why should I tell you?" She said
"I need to know." I said with a dead-serious face. Her face changed and said
"I'm from Spain on a mission to stop my country from becoming your client state"
"Why don't we become allies?" I asked.
This may sound like a stupid question considering she just tried to kill my leader, but I needed all the allies I could get.
"What!? Why would I?" She asked
"Come on, I need all the help I can get. If you help me I'll try to do anything I can to make sure your people don't get treated wrong" I said.
The woman stopped struggling and thought for a moment.
"But I tried to kill your leader." She said in a weirdly shy way.
Normally you shouldn't trust your enemies in this way, but something said that she didn't really want to kill anyone, let alone the leader of a country.
That would throw the whole country into chaos.
I let her go to show her that I was willing to trust her.
"You promise?" she asked
"I promise that I'll do anything in my power to avoid your people suffering." I said with conviction.
I could understand why she would do this. You don't want anyone to suffer so you resort to violent methods.
But considering Napoleon seems like a nice guy in this world I wouldn't think that he would do anything like that.
"OK. I guess I'll become your ally, then" She said with a pretty powerful smile.
It's weird that her attitude towards me changed so much, but it benefited me so it didn't really matter.
