《This Troublesome Adventure》Chapter 27: Ancient History?

“Since the beginning of time, the world had gods that governed the world. In actuality there is one Almighty God who oversaw everything but there were gods specifically bound to our world to assist it’s creation. These gods had genders and specific powers, these gods and goddesses had further demigods under them as subordinates. Every god, goddess and demigod were also worshipped along with the Almighty God. I don’t know if you have heard of them but even today there are many churches and religions devoted to various gods, while only major large churches such as the Equilax and Neutraleus church follows only the Almighty God.
There existed 6 gods and goddesses pairs with equal and opposite powers along with 4 additional independent gods. Along with these 10 gods and goddesses there are different amounts of demigods under them.
First pair is the god of Life and the goddess of Death.
Under them are demigods: Love, Joy, Fertility, Vitality, Longevity, vs Neglect, Sorrow, Maturity, Decay and Aging
There is the goddess of Tranquility and god of Chaos and their demigods: Peace, Law, Order, Freedom vs War, Instinct, Violence and Constraint
The goddess of Justice and goddess of Evil or simply the goddess sisters of good and bad, has the demigods, Light and Darkness.
The remaining 3 gods are god of Magic, goddess of Elements and god of Space and Time.
The god of Magic has no demigods.
The goddess of Elements has a demigod for each element as well as a demigod of Nature, Sky and Sea.
The god of Space and Time has a single demigod of Void/Nothingness.
Finally there is one extra god, the god of Knowledge and Wisdom with his demigod of Affinity, who both worked with everything and everyone.
All gods and goddesses worked together to sustain the world, different combinations of their powers would produce different results. Powers of demigods are also included in this aspect.
For example, god of Magic with goddess of Elements created Magic Elements for the world and with the help of god of Knowledge and demigod of Affinity, various beings could use magic however this depended on the composition of the race.

Another example is god of Life gives birth to all races however the demigods under the god of Life, such as Longevity work with Affinity and other gods such as god of Magic and goddess of Elements and her demigods to produce different results. My race of Dracoren is a long living race, our life spans reach 1000 years or so along with a large magic affinity, however we have low affinity with fertility and so there are not many members of our race. It’s as if demigod of Fertility’s powers were not compatible with our race while Longevity had more influence. And so the race with the most affinity with a certain demigod, their appearance also derive features or qualities matching.
Something like descendents, in our case, the demigod of Longevity is a Dragonica, our appearance are descendants of the Dragonicas. Of course, Ancient Dragonicas still exists in the world, there are probably less than 3 in the world right now that I know of, you might say they could be direct relatives to the demigod, while they are distant ancestors to our race.
Another interesting thing is some races are very similar, so similar in fact they could be considered under the same race. For example, humankinds and Beastman kinds are very similar, their affinity to different gods’ and demigods’ powers produced their traits. But even if they are probably the most similar composition of gods’ creations, they still separate themselves as different races. War between these races still exist even today.
Now then, I’ve explained quite a lot so far, perhaps a break is in order? Have you younglings understood mostly of what I explained? Hohoho.”
It definitely came as a surprise to suddenly learn about all these different gods and the history of the creation of the world and its various races. It almost felt surreal. I wonder how the other two have taken this.
… Daami looks like she’s struggling while Milia is in deep thought.
“Perhaps you want to hear about it in more detail? Well starting with the god of Life, his name is-”
“Ah I am sorry to interrupt but I think that will be alright, no need to trouble yourself Eminos, I think this will give us plenty to think about, (especially Daami.) Could I ask some questions instead?”

“Hohoho that is quite alright, what would you like to ask.”
“Are Dracoren the only race with large mana auras like you? If so would that mean my mentor would have being a Dracoren?”
“Well that depends, normally the race of Dracoren in general has large mana capacities, however some extinguished individuals from other races can reach near or the same level of mana capacity, your own Ogrekin race for example and the Elvin race the young ladies are from have also had excellent Mages and Magic Warriors in the past who reached the peak of their powers. But that was not common, usually these talented individuals only exist one in a million, I have only met a number of them, a number so small I could count them by one hand, but even so their total number might not lose to the population of elder Dracoren Masters. Perhaps you could describe the features of your mentor?”
“I see, well my mentor actually has the same type of eyes as you, however he was a short old man, his body was covered in a tan with rough looking skin. His hair was white with streaks of brown mixed throughout often kept in a short cut. And like you he had 4 jaggered teeth where 2 teeth were each protruding from upper and lower rows. He looked more like a blacksmith than a scholar, but albeit he dressed in robes like a researcher and was strict but also deeply knowledgeable. However he liked to keep to himself, he’d only ever answer my queries if he felt like it…”
“Hohoho well I think he might be also a Dracoren, since we Dracoren are long lived, the amount of knowledge we have gathered allow us to give the feeling of scholars, researchers, professors and the likes. Apart from the body build of course, that defers person to person. Also the only other race with eyes and teeth like ours would be the Repterians, however they have a small amount of scales on their bodies with a lively tail. Some of their race have legs like other beings but some have the strong tail only with no legs, extending from their waist and onwards. So from your explanation, it does not appear that your mentor had a tail. ”
“No that he did not, but this is quite a discovery, so does that mean you can also only use one type of magic only? My mentor would only ever teach me Light magic.”
“Hmmm that is half correct, we Dacoren are born with the affinity for two elements, including Light and Darkness, however depending on the age we reach maximum mana capacity, a limit for mortal beings, our appearance would stop along with one of our affinities, in the end we can only use one magic element. In my case, I reached my peak at age 149, a fairly average age for the Dracoren race to gain maximum magic capability and ended up with the Wind element.”
“Oh just like Mili.”
Oh, looks like Daami is following the conversation with her chiming in.
“Hoho, so you young lady is also a Wind Mage?”
“U-um yes, kind of, I learned a little bit of Wind Magic when I was a child from my parents but I’m not good at it.”
“Oh? How come you didn’t continue on with it? Are you more suited for another element?”
“Oh um, not particularly, it’s just a bit of a long story...”
“I see, perhaps this story is also a misfortunate tale as well.”
Milia nods in reply to Eminos.
It seems Eminos has picked up from Milia’s slight expressions that the story of her past was one that was not a happy tale.
“Well than young lady, give me just one second.”
Eminos stops the conversation briefly to get up from the table and makes his way towards the bookshelf I spotted earlier.

GLADIUS // Eret X Reader
PHANTASM SERIES BOOK 4---Gladius, (noun): (in ancient Rome) a short sword.---Eret perked up as soon as you and Simon walked into the room, a wide and welcoming smile coming onto his face. He was softer looking than his father had been, but you could still see some of the similar traits. He had a head of thick dark curls, and the same sharp jaw that his father had had. He wasn't as bulky though - he was tall and thin - and his face was a lot more open. What separated him most from his father's likeness though was the colorful cape, and the large mirrored glasses he wore - swirling with colors reflected from the room. He stood from his seat when Maven let the doors swing shut behind her, that wide smile still on his face. "You must be the embassy.""And you must be King Eret." You said, stooping into a bow. "Oh, there's no need for that." Eret said as you rose from your bow. He stepped down from the dias where his throne sat - colorful cape trailing behind him - and came to stand in front of you, taking your hand instead. "I'm not really one for formalities." He grinned, shaking your hand. His palm was warm against yours, and you could feel some slight callouses - most likely from practicing his sword work.
