Chapter 9
I have spent 10 days traveling in this dam forest. I simply can't believe why this forest is so huge. While I know I can't be the fastest person, I can say that I am faster than normal people. Traveling several miles in one day is not appealing. At least my tracking skills have improved, as I can easily find more prey.
Compared to the first time I ate rabbit, it seems that my instincts can be curbed if i have the willpower, and I am not starving. It also seems that my [level] goes up based on the amount of monsters I kill, I noticed that it always went up every time i killed a creature. Because I wanted to confirm this theory I called out to the menu.

It was a white tailed doe.
3 days ago I encountered a small herd of deer. Somehow, I managed to separate 2 deer from the herd. Afterwards I tracked both of them to a denser area of the forest then I killed one of them for my dinner. This doe is the other deer I tracked. I plan on testing my theory on it.
I get in position and prepare to pounce on the deer. In a practiced motion I swiftly leap toward the deer with extreme speed and viciousness intending to force it to fall over. Unfortunately the deer wasn't even phased by my leap and started to kick me away. Luckily before the kick landed i was on the side of the deer. Utilizing my superior agility i keep myself to the side of the deer and harass the deer with any thing i had.
After exhausting the deer for a while it grows weak, while i continue with my steady pace. the miles i ran was not for nothing after all. The deer eventually succumbs to its exhaustion making it an easy kill. Once i kill the deer i check my stats to see if my theory holds true.
[Level: 4M(9/16)] ~> [Level: 4M(11/16)]
It seems that my theory holds true. It would also seem then that the rabbits give me 1 and the deer give me 2*?
Trying to relax my senses, my hearing unconsciously improves as i close my eyes. rustling noises can be heard in several locations around me. It sounds smaller than a deer. Definitely bigger than a rabbit. What is it? My open my eyes to a sudden realization.
“Gigologs.”
I mutter under my breath. My ears perk up, and my already strained body prepares itself. After fighting the deer my strength as at a low. If I fight gigologs here it will only mean death. A small anxiety attacks me as the the gigolog comes out from the shrubbery.

Sensing my impending death my body freezes up.
I stair at the hideous monster. It's maw full of teeth and it's grey fur only accenting how scary it looks. Just like the last one I look above it's head
[gigolog: level 4]
No wonder it was smaller than the deer, it's level is a third of the first. I take a deep breath in. This world of the forest isn't about morals. I have no time to make rational judgments. I exhale.
Strengthening my mind; I take my last breath.
I step forward and kick the lower portion of its mouth as hard as i can. My leg seems almost a blur.
The monster like the first tries to open its mouth to bite me, before it can though, my foot lands on what I could roughly guess as the chin.
My courage drains as I feel the collision. This monster is so fucking hard.
Contrary to my feelings, and the pain in my foot, my kick managed to close its mouth. As an added bonus, it cracked some teeth.
Not caring if it will work or not, I start sprinting with the last of my energy to a large tree nearby That can act as my refuge. I leapt toward the tree with my might and caught the sturdiest branch I could find and hoisted myself with all my might.
It appears that my guess was a success, gigologs can't jump, or climb trees. I look down to see one of the gigologs that had yet to reveal themselves. This one was level 7.
Feeling braver, because my attack was a success, I look around my location. The tree I was in is some type of acorn tree, clear to me from the acorns growing on it. Feeing. Brave i take some acorns off the tree and throw it at the gigolog.
Strangely enough this seemed to affect the gigolog more than any other attack and it swiftly left me, going over to the deer I recently killed. It made a clicking noise and the other 3 gigologs moved toward the deer quickly devouring the carcass. Soon it was a pile of bloody bone. Annoyed at how they couldn't reach me the group wandered off toward where I came from, seemingly to track where i was. However they didn't stick around to track me like I thought and simply just went off toward that direction. It seems I was lucky they didn't keep me from my headed direction or else I would have to make a tedious detour around the area in order to escape.
With a mind full of thoughts, a built body, and plenty of hope i quickly move again.
