Chapter 7
Exhausted from sprinting at least a mile I found myself lost in the deep forest. It seems that when I was running I had panicked and never tried to figure out where I was going and ended up in the forest instead of running down the road. Looking around to try and figure out where I was, I simply could not even identify where my footprints were to back track.
“Dam my lack of tracking. I should have listened to grandpa more.”
I had said dejectedly. Using so much energy to think and to look around I soon noticed an encroaching hunger.
“Man I wish I was back home. I could go to a restaurant and order something from a menuu!?”
By saying menu, spontaneously a magical block of text appeared before me. Simply shocked by the sudden appearance I completely forgot about my hunger. Wondering what just appeared before me, I start to inspect this conspicuous block of floating text.

[inventory: 1 gold, lion kingdom badge, book of herbs]
[skills: collection, steady shot, blessing:eyes, Tracking:Ears-High, Tracking:Nose-High, Tracking:Eyes-Low]
After seeing the very large block of text with a massive amount of mysterious information on it, the only thing I can muster is a small shocked “Eh?”
After a few moments of reorganizing my lack of sanity I stair at HP and ms and ask “what is this?” A similar block of text appears before the original.
[HP: standing for health points. Upon reaching zero the associated creature will die.]
[ms: standing for movement speed. Gauges the maximum amount of units that a creature is capable of moving in one second]
After discovering this feature, I inspected the rest of the symbols. Mp stands for mana points, sp stands for stamina points, str stands for strength, int stands for intelligence, wis stands for wisdom con stands for constitution, end stands for endurance, agi stands for agility, dex stands for dexterity.
Strangely enough after inspecting luck all I got was “really??”. Was it mocking me? I didn’t inspect other sections of the block of text after it harmed my ego.
After thinking back on what I saw earlier, I can assume that the floating letters above that weird land shark insect is part of the same ability.
A short while after reorganizing my thoughts, I stretched a bit and looked around the forest for something I could eat, feeling despair as all of the tracking skills I had seemed to just be useless I close my eyes and look up at the sky to think for a moment. I can hear the breeze of all of the trees. How lovely it is to be surrounded by nature…
I hear an Incessant pitter patter of small feet on top of dead leaves. Annoyed I open my eyes and look towards it, only to find nothing but what seems to be a bush. Due to my recent encounter with the gigologs I start to become filled with anxiety…

Several seconds pass by, and a small white rabbit pops out…
Laughing at my own ignorance the rabbit ran away. “Well it's better than a gigolog... Oh wait, there goes food.” I said while uselessly stretching out my hand towards the rabbit.
“I wonder why i could tell where the rabbit was so easily?” i said while contemplating.
Discovering a potential reason i call out to the menu again, then proceed to look over my skills. “Ah yes it is here, Tacking:Ears-High. Hmm if this is here maybe i could track that rabbit? Besides that, what does this do?” wonderfully answering my question, the menu displayed what it does:
[Passive Skill;Tracking:Ears-High: an innate trait if the therianthropy race, enhances the hearing of the user and allows them to detect and easily track a target through medium sized walls.]
“AH! So that was what was aiding me. Maybe i do have a chance at survival in this harsh world.”
After thinking about my ears i could feel them better almost as if they were apart of me… well they ARE apart of me afterall… i try to swivel them like a dog or a wolf would do in order to try and locate my target: mr.rabbit.
It took me about 3 minutes to find the rabbit again using my regular method of tracking. i feel it would be faster if i just used my nose, but i have yet to learn how to use it accurately enough as a true method of tracking. As such it took longer than i hoped. Seeing the rabbit munching on some plant i did not know of i used my ears to track it from here. Having no weapons or any true combat skills i quickly pounced on the rabbit like a true predator. I worry about my sanity as a human…
Luckily my pounce ended up being a success, as i quickly landed on top and grabbed the rabbits neck intending to choke it to death.
