I’m dead, but then it said pulse confirmed so I’m alive?

Suddenly, I felt like my body was being pulled by something.
The force was strong, and I had nothing to cling to. Instantly, everything turned from white to black.

As i slowly opened my eyes,
Staring at me was a huge white scaly lizard head with two giant lizard eyes and a row of gigantic teeth.

“Ummm, have you screamed enough?”

Calm down me, it's just a big talking lizard, there's nothing to be scared of... yup... wait... TALKING LIZARD!?
“Are you finished?” he mumbled with an annoyed face, or I think it is, no one taught me to read lizard faces.
With a confused face and a tilted head I thought, finished with what?
“Good let’s talk about serious matters, what’s your name?”
Wait... what just happened?
Well, I should answer his question first before he gets mad and decide to eat me...
Ok... name... name... wait...
what was my name again?
Family? No I don't remember them...
Friends? No I don't remember them...
...
“I... I don't... remember...”
"I see... well I'll bestow upon you a new name, Yang, how about it?”
Yang, that sounds like a nice name, maybe my missing memories will come back slowly as time passed, but until it comes back, I guess I’ll just have to try to survive.

“Well Yang, you are the human I summoned from a different world, I am Guang the Ancient Holy Dragon the one that guards the world from the Guais and I want you to be the new guard.”
Wait what...
Dragon? Did he just say DRAGON!? Even though I don’t remember about myself, I know dragons aren’t supposed to exist, at first I thought he might just be a giant mutant lizard, but now that I think about it, they aren’t supposed to talk either or have big white wings.
Yup... this is a dream... let's just go with the flow until I wake up from this nightmare...
“Well I’m going to die of old age soon and I need a replacement. In order to ensure the replacement is strong enough, I chose to summon one from a higher tier world where the magic is unusable.”
Who the hell talks about their own death with a straight and uncaring face!?
“Yup I'm dreaming, a dragon wants a weak little girl to protect the world... wake me up when this is over...”
“Sorry little one, but this is not a dream. In order to help you fulfill my request, I’ll bequeath a piece of my soul to you.”
Oh crap, did I just speak my mind out loud…
Well, I guess it’s fine since I’m getting powers, since everything has a price. Plus this is probably all fake, there's no way dragons are real, or summoning people. Wait how does summoning even work?
“Before we continue with the exchange, can you explain a bit about the power?"
“Okay, you see every being in this world can use magic and the source of this magic, is the soul. The class of one’s soul determines the amount of power they command with magic. By giving you a piece of my soul, I’m strengthening your soul into the same rank as my own.”

“Are there any negative impacts?”
“for you none, but I’ll weaken significantly, but my life’s coming to an end soon anyways, so it does not matter.”
Oh, I guess that's suppose to help me with the new job?
I gave him a look full of pity, but it just made him laugh instead
“Hahaha, young one, I’ve lived for longer than you can imagine, to beings like us, death is more of a salvation.”
Well, since his response doesn’t seem forced, I guess it’s fine.
“Can you explain to me a bit about my job?”
I mean, how am I supposed to do a job I know nothing about.
“You will be one of the beings that guards the central world, from Guais from the lower world. The beings from the lower world, hates the beings from the middle and upper world, and the only way to go from the lower world to the upper is through the middle world.”
“Any more questions?”
“Well, none that I can currently think of”
