《Nephilim: Beyond Good and Evil》Chapter 46: Descend (2)

Terios stared helplessly at the portal to Hell. He came to far to let the world be stuck with the arrival of Demons. He had to stop this somehow. No matter what it took he would end this nightmare.
Or so he thought.
His mouth was forced wide open as a hand erupted from it. His eyes widened with disbelief. He felt like his jaw would break at any second until various tendrils shot out from his mouth along with the hand.
Instantly he threw up afterward . When he finished having his fit he saw that Belial was reforming himself and he suddenly became so afraid. This truly was the Devil. Someone he couldn't beat.
"Don't you get it? I am the first evil. I can't be killed. For as long as there is evil I will always exist."
"Are you saying I can't kill you!?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying."
I don't have enough energy for another transformation... if I tried I may die. At this rate though, I don't know what to do.
"You win..."
"Hmm?"
"I can't beat someone like you. I put everything I had into that last attack and you still managed to come back..."
Killing him isn't the way to win.
"Hahaha! So you admit defeat? A wise choice. Your death will be less painful for that."
"I'll take you with me then!"
Terios charged forward as Belial fired off thick tendrils of shadows which impaled through his body. Terios still pushed on even though he was slipping in and out of consciousness.
I just have to... make one portal...
Terios was desperate and began to form a portal made from his shadows behind Belial. It ensnared the two of them in shadows as it began to lure them in.

"What an idiotic move."
Belial said as he closed the portal behind him and lifted Terios into the air before throwing him onto the ground.
"With him out of the way I can focus on the task at hand. It was fun while it lasted."
"Belial. You aren't going to lay another finger on these people!"
Belial looked up as he saw Samyaza descend from the air with his six black wings spread about.
"What a surprise. Samyaza long time no see."
"Belial. You truly are worthless. You have rulership over Hell, but you want more."
"You really came to stop me? Even when no Angel has bothered to?"
"I'm stopping you because I still care for these people."
"I can't be stopped."
"You can be sealed!"
Samyaza held out his hand and began to distort the space around them forcing the portal of Hell to begin sucking Belial back inside.
The Devil struggled against this and managed to inch closer to Samyaza until he pointed a finger at him.
"Are you ready to be corrupted?"
"Go ahead, Belial. I've already been tempted by the darkness I won't let it ruin me again."
Belial made a face as he realized his ability didn't work on him and then the Fallen flew directly into him and pushed him into the portal.
The two struggled for what seemed like ages until they were far enough in where Samyaza had time to close the portal.
However it wouldn't be easy with the Devil fighting him off.
"It's pointless. You're no match for me. You never were."
Belial impaled him with thick tendrils of darkness which stuck out from the Fallen's back. Samyaza coughed up blood before he began to close the portal. Slowly, but surely it would shrink.

Belial forced the tendrils to spread inside of him, wrapping around his organs and bones before it reached his heart.
"You won't have enough time, Samyaza."
Samyaza could feel his cold darkness wrap around his heart. He became breathless for a moment until he slammed his hands against the Devil's neck.
"I just need a bit more time!"
He used a large portion of his energy to cause Belial's body to implode. Blood and guts sprayed everywhere until they were reduced to shadows which began to collect together.
Using the last bit of his energy he closed his fist at the portal, forcing it to close completely. Seeing the madness end he gave off a soft smile before he sensed the source of evil behind him.
In an instant his head was severed from his body and blood gushed out violently before he descended into the darkness.
"This can't be... the portal was closed... I should still be able to open it."
Belial held out a hand as the portal slowly opened up. He smirked as he approached it and as he touched it he felt a sharp surge of pain rush into him.
"Gaaggh! Impossible... it's as if... don't tell me."
Elsewhere.
Terios managed to open his eyes as he felt himself moving. He looked up and saw a man smiling with blonde hair and golden colored wings.
"Awake are we?"
"Who are you?"
"I'm Michael. The head Archangel."
"Michael... am I dead?"
"No. Quite the opposite actually."
"What happened?"
"Seeing all of you fighting against Belial like this motivated my brother and I to get involved."
"What did you do?"
"We restored the balance to the world. It wasn't time for it to go so we sealed of Hell from Earth."
"Permanently?"
"As long as we could possibly keep it sealed."
"What does this mean for us?"
"We will no longer hunt you Terios. Or your kind as long as you promise us something."
"What?"
Michael whispered into his ears and took showed him where everyone was waiting. After this he disappeared.
Terios walked over to them and saw all of them and then smiled. The nightmare was finally over and they had manage to hold back the Earth's destruction for now and that was enough to celebrate.
Ever since becoming a Nephilim my life took a turn for the worst. It was like being on a wild rollercoaster ride. I had no control over anything. At first I hated being different from everyone else, but now I'm glad. I was able to make more friends than I could have ever dream of.
I want things to continue like this. I want to be able to push myself forward and enjoy my time here no matter how long that'll be.
Terios was now tasked with an important new job. His life would never be the same. Michael had promise that the Angels would never harm his people again if he promised to take care of any monsters that lurked about.
It was now his job to protect the world from the forces of evil and he couldn't be any happier.
The End?

Author's note: Looks like we reached the conclusion of the story. I hope you all enjoyed it very much! I know I enjoyed writing for each and everyone of you! Tell me how you guys liked it, I'd love to hear all about it. This maybe the conclusion of Terios' story, but I'm sure there's more adventures to be held in the early future. For now I'm going to focus on War of Change and two side stories which I hope you'll all have a chance to read.

Grim Beginnings
For most, ghosts and monsters were fantasy. For Tessa Byrne-Reyes, they were a constant in her daily life as a reaper. The legendary gods and creatures of mythology were, to her, historical figures. From a young age, she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders, possessing what she saw as a curse but what her family considered a gift. It was her birthright, to use her abilities to guide the deceased to the afterlife of an eternity in peace or in torment. Her classmates viewed her as "the fainting girl" who would pass out in the middle of a lesson with inexplicable injuries. She experienced each death in the town of Belmont Falls, from the mundane to the gruesome. A gunshot wound in the gut, broken ribs, her heart ceasing to beat for several minutes. No one understood what caused these incidents but over the years, she gained a reputation for being abnormal. While Tessa is the freak of Belmont Falls, Fin Belmont, the charming rebel and son of the richest man in town, is her polar opposite. Knowing each other for years but never saying more than a dozen words between them, one night changes everything, thrusting them into each other's unfamiliar and daunting worlds. Together, with the help of her best friend/his ex-girlfriend Elena, they begin to unravel secrets about their town and their pasts, learning that some secrets are better left buried and grudges can be held for centuries.

Unique Fusion Magic Hex
World Essence. The mysterious energy coursing throughout the entire land of Vor'ten, and very possibly the entire world. This energy has allowed humanity to flourish, building great empires and vast kingdoms, conquering nature itself with just a sweep of their hand. Humans were the strongest existence, and with the help of channeling this World Essence, many were able to turn into Magic Knights, gaining magical abilities to combat the various fierce beasts throughout the lands.Alas... those glory days of old were long gone. Humanity has now been pushed to the brink of destruction, and now the remaining members of the human race are encased within giant domes known as 'Alkkras', made with the last remaining bits of the World Essence. It was said that those giant domes were the last gifts left by the remnants of the ancient human race, as a means to protect the future generation from the attacks of the many wild beasts roaming outside. Five Spiritualist Invokers, all combined together, used the last bit of the World Essence and sacrificed their lives to lay a gigantic, 1028-seal formation magic array to form these barriers, forever saving humanity, but also trapping humanity within these barriers. However, the humans were never completely helpless. No matter how little World Essence was left, the humans still had some remaining. Realizing the incoming crisis, the humans found a way to seal World Essence inside a special type of crystal. Soon, these crystals began to become implanted into weapons, turning them into World Essence Weapons, and they began to display properties of their own. Extreme heat. Bone chilling cold. Absurd sharpness. These normal weapons, after being imbued with the energy of the World Essence Crystals, began to form natural affinities to elements. Fire. Water. Earth. Wind. Darkness. Light. Using these weapons, one could become a Chevalier that wielded the power of the elements. However, if one wanted to reach a higher level of enlightenment and understanding, one could become an Invoker. Via the study of magic array formations, one could directly use the power of the World Essence to cast devastating magics upon the enemy. These people were Invokers, highly valued for their combat potential by the Army. These weapons and magical arrays were used in the great fight between the humans and the beasts long ago. They had long since been put away in storage, almost long forgotten...However, after ten-thousand years of suppression, the human race is beginning its counterattack against the Beasts... Synth was an Invoker in the Magecroft Academy. However, his talent was terrible, being only at the Spark Stage. This led to him being looked down upon and bullied. He was unable to cast any Calamity-rank or even Destruction rank spells, and was only able to cast Coalescing rank spells at the age of 17, a record low in the academy for cultivating these rare Invokers. Even though he put in more effort than anyone else, he was still unable to advance his Channeling Energy. But due to his constant research and study, Synth ended up creating a power that would go against the heavens - he had found how to Fuse spells together. After trying it out once, merging the magical array for the Small Fireball and the Mortal Judgement skills, he was able to create a mid-rank Destruction tier spell, Holy Judgement Flame. However, after this, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to fuse more spells together or even cast them, and noticed a weird, pentagram shaped formation on his left arm. He would later call this mark the Fusion Magic Hex, a curse that prevented the wielder from casting magic that wasn't their own...This meant that with the exception of Synth's newly created skill, , he was going to have to create unique magic arrays if he ever wanted to step on the path of becoming an Invoker! This power that destroyed the laws of the Invoking System, and his unyielding persistence in testing and creating new spells, would later gain Synth the nickname the Unique Fusion Hex, and lead him to become one of the strongest beings in the entire World!
