《Nephilim: Beyond Good and Evil》Chapter 16: Asylum

Tell me something can you do that something for me? What day is it today? Does anybody know what day it is today? I'm starting to lose track of time because it feels as if time has stopped for me.

A young lavender haired male with dull purple eyes staring up at nothing laid on a bed that was wedged in a corner. The sheets were plain white. The bed itself wasn't very comfortable, but it was still something. Judging from the male's facial feature he seems to be somewhat relatable to Terios.

"..."

All hope the man had within him was depleted. He couldn't even be considered a human being anymore. Crippled by depression both inside and out, he truly felt alone in the world, since nobody could hear him he decided to remain silent. Instead he moved his hand to reach for what he thought was the sky, reaching for something but obtaining nothing.

The way things are going I'm starting to wonder if this is all a dream. A never ending dream that repeats itself, over and over and over and over and over... when will it end? If it ends what will I have gotten out of the ride...?

A knock could be heard at his door, alerting him that it was time to start his boring routine life. The lavender haired male sat up and walked to the door, watching as it opened and revealed two men, two doctors who held out a glass of water and a pill.

"Must I really?"

"Mhm." The doctor answered.

"I can't sleep when I take it. Please, I'm begging you. I'm tired of being alone with my thoughts, it's maddening."

"Just take your damn pills or we'll get physical again."

"For people trying to help me you're a bully. I guess I have to do what you say after all I'm powerless to stop you."

He reached a soft hand out for the glass, taking it the water rippled although contained by the glass cup. He took the pills with his other hand and threw it inside of his mouth before drinking behind it.

"Open your mouth."

"Don't you trust me by now? We're practically family."

"Akihisa! Open it!"

Akihisa sighed softly and opened his mouth up, revealing that there were no signs of the pills within his mouth. The doctors nodded and left the door open as they left. Once they were out of sight he opened his hand out and spat the pills back into his hand before smiling softly.

"They fell for the oldest trick in the book. Maybe if I tried hard enough I could use my powers to get out of here. Then again that wouldn't change anything.."

Akihisa knew it was time for group therapy and left his room in a hurry. While walking through the hall he glanced at everybody around him who he assumed was ignoring him. Their eyes were always elsewhere and he could never achieve the attention he desired.

It's so annoying. I hate it when their eyes drift away like that. No one is truly ever here. This place is like Hell! It's the same routine every time. No progress is ever made here, nothing changes.

Akihisa met up in his group's 'circle' they were forced to sit around each other to form a circle. He sat next to someone else like him, a young boy named Rikuto Kannon who had black hair and yellow eyes. He was a shell of a boy because they severely drugged him.

"Hey... Akihisa... I'm glad you could make it." Rikuto slurred his words slightly.

"Not like I have any choice..."

Rikuto Kannon... he's an orphan like me. He came here because he grew up in a toxic environment. Heh, atleast he's had some form of love over his years.

Rikuto Kannon was adopted by the Kannon family. A family of a happy husband and wife who couldn't bear children. To make up for this they adopted the young boy it was then where the mother desired lustful feelings for her baby boy. She grew over protective of him and sheltered him from the harshness of the world.

Over time others have noticed her unusual ways with her son and questioned if they were too close to one another, but Rikuto didn't mind, he enjoyed their twisted relationship. So much that he allowed his mother to take his virginity at such a young age. When she showed regret of their actions she told him there was one thing he could do to reassure that everything would be ok for the two of them.

This motive was to kill his father. Feeling that he couldn't disobey his mother he went along with her wishes, but before he could act his father walked in on them. With rage filling him the father attacked the boy's mother. Rikuto quickly left to call for the authority and when he returned he found that his father had murdered his mother.

Rikuto was crushed from what he had observed, but before he could act the officials took in his father and brought Rikuto to perform a mental health test which he failed with flying colors. He talked as if he could still see and hear his mother around and that was a huge concern for everyone.

"Alright guys, let's begin with the session. I feel like we'll make a break through today." Dr. Mikasa said with a wide smile. She was always so hopeful... so positive and never took no for an answer.

I despise this woman. She always wants to make a break through, yet most of us are still the way we started. She's always so confident and happy it makes me sick! She's delusional.

"Dr. Mikasa... I-I had something I wanted to discuss..." Said a young man.

"Yes? Go on."

"As I mentioned a lot of times before.. I'm here because.. I had a relationship with one of my students... I-I didn't want to hurt her or anything... I just..."

"You just what?"

"I really like kids... they just see things differently from us."

"I see. You know it was wrong to pursue a relationship with a minor though, right?"

"I do, yet that didn't stop me. I don't want to be considered a bad person. I really have a passion for teaching. I'd do anything to teach again, but I betrayed the trust of my student's parents and I feel bad for that."

"That's good to hear. Do you have any idea why you feel attractive to little kids?"

"I don't really know. C-can you help me Mikasa... I mean Dr. Mikasa."

"Mikasa is fine if that's easier for you. To understand this problem it helps to look back during your childhood."

"My childhood?"

"How was your childhood during your school days?"

"Well.. There was a lot of pressure. Haha, but that's normal. I was pressured to get into a good college and make something of myself. I wasn't really the popular kid in school. But, that changed as I entered college. I don't know."

This guy is just a pedophile. In the public's eyes anyways. Sad isn't it? His entire life was ruined the moment he started a relationship with a student. His honor went down the drain and trust me when I say he'll never get hired to teach again. Hell he won't ever find a job here. Killing himself is an option he should actually consider.

"Rikuto. Do you still hear from your mother?" Mikasa asked.

"Yeah... she's not here right now..."

"You know your mother d-"

"Don't say it... just don't."

"Rikuto.. I'm trying my best to help you. The moment you realize that she's gone is the moment you can move on. You live your life the way you want to."

"… I don't want that... I want to live my life the way mother pictures it."

Dr. Mikasa frowned from his response and moved on to Akihisa, glancing at him with a pleasant smile before speaking.

"Tell me how do you feel today, Akihisa?"

"You always ask me that same question. How do you think I feel? Miserable. I had my life stolen from me because of events I had no control over. Now I'm stuck here with freaks like these guys. A rapist, a serial killer and a pedophile. No matter how hard you try to redeem them it'll be in vain because the public won't change their mind."

"Those are strong feelings, Akihisa. Have you ever noticed that you're always so negative? Why do you think that is?"

"I'm not in the mood for this. I can't deal with these bullshit questions. Questions you already know the answer to."

"You're never in the mood. Maybe if you'd try things would get better. There's always a way to improve yourself."

"Sorry if I'm not sunshine and rainbows. I am negative, but I have good reasons to be."

"What are these reasons, Akihisa?"

Akihisa remained quiet for a bit and lowered his head before he released a sigh of annoyance. This was how the day usually went by, always being questioned by Mikasa. She could never agree with how things really worked. He remained quiet and stopped replying as he normally does with her and eventually he returned to his room the first chance he got.

He sat back against the wall with his back pressed against it. His head was tilted back as he stared at the blankness in the room. Hands laid flat on the cold cement floor and he started to have flashbacks.

The flashback revealed to him an image of the Ina family covered in blood with him standing over them. His hands were completely stained in their crimson liquid, he was certain he had killed them, but he doesn't remember doing it. His memories traveled deeper and revealed the moment he was chained down in the basement.

That was when he met his biological father, the one and only Azazel. That was when things spiraled out of control. His mind repeated the words the Fallen Angel had said. "You aren't good enough, you're existence was a failure." The feeling of being neglected by his father who appeared not to save him but to let him know just how irrelevant his existence was.

The fact that Angels could at any moment come and slay him didn't help the fact. He was a true abomination, he didn't fit in with humans, Angels, nor Nephilim.

Why...? Why do I exist...? Can someone please give me the answer? I've been wondering this for awhile now. If I exist just to die then what's the point...? What's the point of anything anymore...? Hehehe. It's all a big joke! Well I'm not laughing anymore!

Akihisa chuckled slightly as his body twitched slightly while warm tears of blood secreted from the corner of his eyes. After awhile he simply broke into a laughing fit. "Gyhahahahahaha! It's all a big joke! I'm tired of it...! So tired...!"

I'm ready to leave this place. I just want to...

Soon a voice echoed in his head coming from a familiar being which caused his eyes to widen slightly while he froze. "Are you enjoying yourself?"

"That voice...."

"Yes son. It's me, your dear father. Heh."

"Dad..."

"Son I require your help. I know I've been hard on you, but... wouldn't you like to have a family reunion/"

"What family?"

"Your sister Akari and your brother Terios."

"Akari... Terios..."

"I figured that all of my kids should atleast know each other. I want to do right by you all."

"I'll do whatever you want dad. Just get me out of this place..."

"Really son? I didn't expect it to be this easy. Very well, come to the entrance."

The door that was locked shut was forced open by an unknown force and all of the lights within the building flickered off and on before staying off. Akihisa slowly lifted his body up as he walked towards the exit.

He was guided by his father's voice, escorting him to the exit. He knew the path so he didn't know why his father was doing this but didn't really care enough to bring it up. Standing just feet by the main door Akihisa stood there as the lights switched back on and revealed a group of people blocking the door.

"Patient Ina. Return to your room."

"…"

"Return to your room!"

Akihisa remained still as the men approached him. The leading man's arm reached out and it was immediately chopped off as if an axe was slicing him piece by piece. The sound produced was horrid and his screams started something sick within the lavender haired male. The way this all looked was supernatural their bodies were being sliced in half, leaving nothing left of them besides a pool of blood.

"They won't harm you son. Go on."

Akihisa released a soft smile before his feet left footprints against the blood. As he came to the exit he heard a woman's scream and instantly realized that this was Dr. Mikasa's. He slowly turned around to face her, instantly seeing the fear within her expression.

"A-Akihisa! What's going on...!"

"Would you believe me if I said... this wasn't my fault? None of it was my fault. I just wanted to leave and they were in my way... so he killed them."

"Who...? What are you talking about...?"

"It doesn't matter. It never did matter."

Akihisa slowly turned around and gripped at his head before exiting out of the door. The man was now free from his prison, but he was still trapped.
