Author's note: Just to give a warning about this chapter. It is a disturbing one. Following that pleasant note, thanks for reading! I love you all except Steve. Fuck you Steve.

Chapter Six

The household is silent. It has been for the last two week ever since Rachel died. Andrew and Samantha stopped talking to each other altogether. Andrew is rarely sober anymore and Samantha will sit in front of the television every day watching the same news channel and nothing more. Hannah came home a few days after Rachel’s death looking like absolute shit. Her once well kempt blonde hair was now a ratty mess of dull blonde. Her gaunt pale face was a tribute to the massive amount of drugs she must have been doing. The first thing she did when she came home was loudly bust into my room a punch me in the face with all the force she could muster.

“You sick fuck! You killed my sister!” Her fists continued to land on me, but each one was weaker than the last.

“How could this happen.. She didn’t deserve to die, my sister can’t die!” Hannah was now kneeling on the floor having given up her barrage from earlier. I understood what she meant to say, I just disagreed with it.

“It is not my room she died in and it was not my drugs she took.” I gave this reply while looking down at the top of her head, having nothing else to look at.

“Just because I sell drugs does not make me the one responsible. You always have drugs with you and I’m sure you had some hidden in your room.” Hannah only seemed to shrink further into the floor after I finished speaking. She looked defeated and I think she realized the truth at that point. She was one of the main reasons her sister had died. I left her to kneel on the floor of my room and went to go work on my current business. My expansion had just begun and I needed to focus all of my attention on that.

This household has become a dangerous place to stay. Hannah still hates me and may try killing me one of these days. Andrew and Samantha no longer do anything at all. I may call Child Protective Services and see if I can move onto the high school campus for the time being. Sadly, a high school student will have a hard time getting an apartment by themselves, which only leaves me with that option to aim for.

On the bright side my expansion is progressing very quickly. I already have fifty people under me now and most of them are college students. I have created a hierarchal system where ten of the runners are higher up while each one of those ten has a couple of runners under them. I now have control of a majority of the drug market within this town and I barely have to move a muscle to allow it to continue expanding. I need to think bigger. Drugs can only get me so far in this world, I need to begin doing more if I want to become influential enough to take back what was originally mine.

I finally decide to call my mother. She always has a strict policy that she never should be bothered when she is out working, but this situation calls for it. I am running out of ideas.

“Mother I need your help.” I always start talking the second a phone is answered. It might not be a god habit to have.

“I know the details honey, I am on my way back now. I think it’s time you begin helping me out with some of my jobs now.” With that she hangs up the phone. My mother is one of few words. I will eventually get her to answer some of my questions, but for now I need to take care of some loose ends, the loose ends being the Reeds family.

I return to the bush where I had thrown my gun weeks ago to find it still there, untouched. I pick it up and head back into the house. Once I get the call from mother that she has arrived I will leave this house and everyone in it behind. My drug ring I have created will continue and I will continue allowing it to grow and expand. It has already reached a point where my direct hand in its activities is not needed. It will grow naturally on its own.

Within a few hours I get the call from mother and I begin to clean up any evidence of my presence at the Reeds house. My room has little added to it ever since I moved in. I only need to make sure any trace of drugs has been wiped clean from the room. I also pull out a floorboard and grab all the ammunition I have left. There are six bullets. More than enough to finish up here. I slowly load my gun while thinking of what my future might entail. Will I end up working for the Italian mafia or will I only help out on a few missions? I guess I will just have to wait and see.

With my gun fully loaded it is time to move on. I am heading to Hannah’s room first. She is the closest and the one who will cause the most trouble if she found out what was going on. I walk in with the gun in my hand only to see Hannah sitting on the edge of her bed staring at me.

“I’m sorry about this, but I can’t leave any loose ends.” I say this while pointing the gun at her head. It is surprising how she is still so calm.

“Let me do it myself.” She whispers these words while looking straight into the barrel of the gun. I walk forward and place the gun in her right hand. She slowly lifts the gun to her and her finger is twitching on the trigger.

“This was all your fault. If only you never came into this town, moved into my home, fucked with my family. I could still be living a normal life. I would still have a sister. My parents would be back to their normal, happy selves. Fuck you Jacob.” Once that final word leaves her mouth she pulls the trigger. The gun shot is almost silent thanks to the silencer, but the outcome is the same. Hannah lies dead on her bed with a bullet wound through her head. I walk over, pick up the gun and make my way downstairs.

I walk into the living room to see Andrew and Samantha sitting next to each other on the couch. I walk up behind them and quickly fire off two shots. I did not have a lot of interactions with the two of them. I chose to give them a quick death. I head back upstairs and place the gun back by Hannah’s side. Her fingerprints are the only ones on the gun, I always wear gloves when handling guns. With any luck, this will be thought of as a murder suicide. I grab my bag and head outside to the black Rolls Royce waiting for me outside the house. While walking through the living room I notice that Andrew and Samantha’s hands are intertwined. They must have finally made up.

I walk out to the car and enter the passenger side door. My mother is sitting in the driver’s seat waiting for me.

“Is everything taken care of?” She asks this while pulling away from the house.

“Yes, I took care of any loose ends that may spring up. Where are we heading?” I ask this while watching the house I had spent the last six months of my life in get smaller and smaller. I would never be going back.

“I have an apartment in the city. We will be staying there for the time being.” Her eyes never leave the road while she talks and I continue to stare out the window with my expressionless face. My mother is not one for talking. I’m sure answers will be waiting for me at the apartment
