《Dystopius》Chapter 4: Sewercats

A loud metal noise made her snap awake. In the almost total darkness, save the torches lighting up the room of her Master, she determined the sound came from outside the massive steel door. She quietly ran up to the door and put her ear against it. Somewhere in the sewers, there were a group of people moving around. She reasoned they were merely workers, but a sudden scream, followed by a great chaos of shouts, screams and noises of war sent a chill down her spine: Sewercats.
A deceptively innocent name, the Sewercats were a military group with a much more convoluted name full of pronunciations she never quite managed to nail down. The nickname stemmed from their main mission of systematically purging the 'rats' living in the city sewers. As she stood there, one of the master's goons approached from behind, his disgusting smile replaced by a deep, and quite understandable terror. The screams continued to echo within the sewers for a while, but was soon replaced by a deathly silence.
"Hey kid... Go out there and open the drain."
"You do it..." She whispered back.
"Go... Or I'll... Cut you real good...!"
"That'll draw them in for sure..."
"Just go!" He whispered half-loud before starting to gently lift the metal bar keeping the door shut. A cacophony of squeaking and metallic shrieks ensued, largely from his attempt at being gentle with the old lock.
"You're waking the whole damn place with that!" She whispered, to which he returned her a sour, threatening look.
Within moments, the locks on the door slid away, and with a loud squeak, he pushed the door open enough for her to slide outside. The tunnel was dark save for a small glimmer of light shining through a vertical pipe connected to some rich person's rain catcher. On the opposite wall hung a small metal chain, connected to a blocking stone which kept the usual flow of filth from flowing into the tunnel from above. With gentle footsteps she began entering the water which bore a deep red, mixed in with the otherwise normal filth. She made it to the other side with relative ease, and pulled the chain. A loud dunk, was followed by the rapid flow of water. Her mission complete, she began to head back, but nearly stumbled in a strange lump floating in the water. As soon as she reached the light, she saw that the lump was not the usual piece of trash, but a fresh, and still bleeding corpse. Her surprise was only temporary, as her attention was drawn to the noise of footsteps in the water, drawing closer.

She waded through the water and slipped in behind the door, the recently moved locks making slightly less noise. Inside, some of the people had begun to wake up, and some were already huddled together, shaking visibly with fear. She put her ear to the door and began listening. Over the sound of the running water, she could hear loud swearing, and muted complaints about the apparent wall of filth. A tense two minutes followed, before the silence returned, the footsteps gone. Her heart gradually returned to its normal beat, but the fear stuck to her, even as she tried to make herself comfortable.

The Dweeb Prince and the Eight Cursed Princesses
Prince, despite his name, was more of a dweeb high school student, who often spends his free time reading instead of socializing. One day, he discovered a secret section of the library, and in it was a mysterious book. Then, his careless action of opening it unleashed eight curses of the different princesses living in the book. Those curse will jinx his fellow female schoolmates so each of them would suffer a tragic end.But hope remains, in the form of a fairy called Pixie. Together, Prince and Pixie will track down each individual possessed by the curse and guide them to their story's happy conclusions instead of the tragic ones. With that, Prince will have to deal with classic fairy tales such as Snow White, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, and others in a modern setting. Note: The 'HAREM' tag doesn't mean that the MC will explicitly enter a polygamous relationship with multiple girls. The tag was added because this story involves encountering and dealing with different girls without entering the dating relationship. So yeah, this is more like the harem tag in anime rather than the harem tag explained here in RR. Releases a chapter every Sunday.

Grey [HIATUS]
I was originally fueled by anger and disdain to write this and looking back, most of what I wrote for this story was unplanned and a bit trashy. I kinda stopped having ideas for this, so I stopped in the end. If you're looking at this right now, you probably shouldn't read this because it's only 12 crappy chapters in and yeah... Sorry to the people who might've liked this. (Maybe one day I'll continue this, but for now, I have other plans) Grey, a prince, is unsure about what to do when he starts running away from an enemy beast tamer. He's unsure on what to do now that his father, the king, is dead. In the forest alone, he'll discover a small companion and a rogue. Together will they figure a way to take back Grey's kingdom? Or will they just die in vain? Let's be honest here, most of you probably like the fox aspect of the story the most. (BTW the cover design is made by me. Terrible, I know) I'm kind of done with writing bs descriptions that I might change in the future, plus I'm not very good with being thoughtful with quotes and stuff like that. I just write what pops into my mind, which is usually stupid things. So the description may or may not be accurate so I've changed it to being very vague.

Familiar: The Laen Chronicles
After a brutal accident that causes him to lose his memory, Ian's life takes a strange turn. He sees things that aren't there and keeps having these strange dreams of the days leading up to his accident. That is until everything he thinks he knows about the world is turned upside down. After all, magic is real and always has been. In a world where everything is unknown, follow Ian as he grows his strength and comes into contact with the various forces ruling this new world. The Laen, an organization that seems to want to rule everything magical, and the Fasurus, spirit-like creatures who have been suppressed far too long. Note: This is the first book I have written. I would love it if you could leave a review, no matter how horrible, that could help me do better in my writing. The beginning chapters are a bit slow, but if you can get past that, there is a chance you'll love it. Happy Reading.

Beyond the Ordinary
A mysterious organisation is acquiring people. Why do they want them? Who are they? Is there any connection to the questions asked by astrophysics? Where do wrestling stars actually come from? Is cosplay just an excuse? What is the plural of elf? If you are short and bearded do you have to enjoy caves? At least one of these questions will eventually be answered. Any resemblance to a RPG is purely coincidental. No squirrels were harmed in the first few chapters of this story.
