Chapter 17: The Hell Awaits
Jack
I laid on the floor in pain, my suit was dead weighted and I struggled to get it off, I was on the floor of the courtyard after being out for what must have been hours as it was night time and nothing was active, I managed to pry my suit off and make my around seeing multiple bodies scattered across the courtyard. I grabbed a light off of one of the dead bodies and identifying who died there was a small amount of guards and a single civilian, I checked who it was and as I did it broke me down to my core, there she was dead on the ground, Emily. I felt a deep pain hit me, I looked at the wound, one shot to the back and through the body. Did I cause this? I was the one who shot the commander during the situation that was going on, I would process It later, the bodies were still here which meant that the school would have had to evacuated pretty quick. I continued to look around and see if there was something that I could find to see where I could go or what to do, I broke into the principal’s office trying to find the evacuation plan in order to find out where to go in order to go home. As I did however, I got ambushed by a group of enemy guards. I had no weapon at this point as I couldn’t find it nearby, so I surrendered and took capture, I showed no resistance, being thrown in a truck and driven to an unknown fate.
Hours had gone by in the back of this dark empty truck with no sound but the engine just revving away, and at this point I was going a little crazy being couped up in a glorified tin can, there was nothing to even distract me from the hell that awaited me when we got to where we were going. We did eventually reach that location, the door opened and by that point it must have been dead in the middle of night because I could barely pick out where we were, I did however shortly after, we were at a private airstrip in what was buttfuck nowhere, the soldier to detained me pulled me out of the back. “We are leaving!” he said in a very crackly and gravelly voice, they crew of about 6 soldiers and myself made our way onto a plane and overseas, the flight was well over 4 hours and by the time we got there it was dawn. We landed at a public airport this time which to me indicated that we were on enemy territory and no longer at home, by this point I would have assumed they would have beaten me to a pulp already but to my disillusions they were treating me quite well. Feeding me decent food and giving me drinks often, it was almost like they weren’t treating me as the enemy. After landing I was then transported with only two soldiers to a parliament building, I was shocked, I had no idea why I was here. They continued to direct me towards the big room on the top floor, I was then greeted by a man in probably in his late forties maybe early fifties the man told his soldier to untie me and leave. “So, you’re from the prestigious battle school, and you shot the commander that was sent to keep an eye on you lot.” I stood awkwardly in front of him “Come on don’t be an awkward freak about it, I’m not the bad guy here, the commander is.” I couldn’t really speak, I was left in a state of shock. “Do you need a minute son?” I then finally spoke “This is not what I thought was going to happen when I was taken prisoner. I expected to be beaten to a pulp and interrogated” The man then laughed “No you fucking idiot why would I hurt you, for one you are useful to me and two you are just a kid, there is no reason for this useless violence.” I then begun to form a bit of rage within me, “Then why attack the school twice and send an informant in to spy on us and get someone killed!” he understood my anger and responded “The commander for quite some time has been trying to overthrow me and take the spot at the top but has never had the power to do so, for sometime now he has been rallying a large force in order to take me by force. His philosophy and mine are quite different, I am a peacemaker, ever since I have been in power other than the exception of the commander himself 10 years ago and yesterday, I have not sent a single on of MY forces into your land. But the commander has, his allies have been causing issues for me and I have spent the last few weeks trying to prevent a war.” I stood confused “So the commander organised all of the raids and destruction?” The Man nodded “and only him, he wants to destroy your side with all of his power, and he won’t stop until you’re under our command or dead!” I was suspicious “How did I know your not just trying to cover everything up? And what do you need with me?” The Man grinned “Because we want the same thing, we both want the commander dead or at least locked up and we both want peace among both sides.” I then extended my hand forward offering a handshake “Then we fucking destroy him!” he then took my hand shaking it, I then asked, “What do you need from me?” he then handed me a slip of paper with a checklist of things I had to do at home, the first thing that was stated on the list ‘Use John!’

Earth was overtaken by the Calumnia ten years ago and if it weren't for the alien Occisio race who saved the remnants of humanity, Indi's race would have gone extinct.
