Somewhere in a realm where the god lies a small path in the beautiful yet dangerous mountain. The mountain holds some of the most oldest and most powerful creature created by a primal god on a whim since then other gods started to add more monsters as time goes on. Now the mountain can kill gods themselves if they are not careful. This place quickly became a popular place to gain fame for new gods and goddess.
There a figure covered in a cloak with a giant dark scythe that seem to draw in the soul if one were to look at it and a book on one hand reading have a leather bound book that have a aged appearance with skull with a complex looking spell circle in the back. If one were to look at him closely you would discover that no matter how hard or which angle you look there always seem to be a darkness covering his face.
A few monsters tried to attack the figure but only to run away once they were close to him as if they were were staring death. After some time the figure stopped and said in a voice that would make one feel as if their soul is sucked right out of them said without looking up.
(???)"come out and fight or die"
As if out of nowhere figures started to appear first numbering only a few but steadily increased to well over a thousand man and woman. A man walked out of the group of people and started to introduce himself.
(unimportant god)"hello my name is Jack and I'm the god of..."
Soon the cloaked man started to ignoring the man continued reading his book. Finally Jack notice the person wasn't even listening anymore or even paying attention to him. Made some hand gestures at someone behind the cloaked figure.

A shadow barely noticable started to slowly sneak behind the figure holding the dagger and was about to stab him. But suddenly with two flash of a dark scythe the shadow and the god named Jack's head flew with bright red blood spew everywhere.
(random god)"noooo Jack, you bastard go to hell"
And then started charging toward the figure and ended up with the same fate.
(???)"Anyone else?"
Shocked by how someone manage to kill a god so easily the other gods were getting scared. But of course some mentally retarded god yell
(unknown god)"he can't take all of us at once charge!!"
And all of them charged The cloaked figure started to run towards the gods too hack and slash as many of them with his scythe as he can while casting death bolts and necromancy to the gods that tried to run and or died in the battle. Making a army of skeletons, normally skeleton are weak and fragile but with the bones of a god and god's power to support it became a being worthy of fear.
Days started to come and go with the battle continuing on just like the first day with something new... beast from the mountain started to arrive drawn by the smell of blood. With the beast joining the fight it got even harder for the cloaked god now that the beast of the mountain judged him as 'weak' because his already weak aura is starting to fade from him as he fight. As more monsters and gods started to join the fight, the realm that holds the gods and beast started to crack from all the abuse it's taking. Noticing this change the cloaked god decided to end it quickly or the mortal realm will be infested by these monsters.

Decided end this quickly by using a forbidden spell to kill every god and beast weaker then the level of high gods. The blood and bone from all the gods and beast start to rise and form a spell circle so large it covers the entire mountain. The gods and beast noticing the change start to fight even harder while others tried to run, the god using the only thing powerful enough to power the spell sacrificed his soul and activated the spell that killed more gods and beasts in a second then it did any other battle.
With his death dark and light orbs of light started to appear from the corpse body. The orbs of light and dark started to be adsorbed by the clocked person's items with others heading towards the mortal world below though the cracks that formed in the battle. The gods noticing this cursed the items with the strongest curses they know started to throw them in to the mortal world when a cracks started to appear out of ground run up the mountains around them. The gods finally noticing something is wrong started to quickly ran away trying to avoid rift that started to form around them send gods and monsters alike into the world below.
As if the world decided to curse their luck the god who the cloaked god was suppose to meet showed up after feeling something is wrong and went to find him to find the scene like that saving as many gods as he can he brought them back to his domain to question them. After the questioning the elder god punished the gods to watch over the lost soul of the dead for they kill off the god who did that and cursed the gods that fell in to mortal worlds by turning them into goblins and the like for their punishment.
After holding a funeral for the fallen death god along with a few other elder god they set off to work to restore world balance that was tipped when the mountain with the monsters where send into the mortal world.

Save their friend and risk destroying the Gilded Region or let the knights do their job. Even if they can save the day, they still have to prep for their first real mission. Travel home to Carapace and do whatever they can to save a miasma stricken city. Book Four - Tainted Carapace The city of Carapace is plagued with issues. Most of all is the noble class, who ignores the plights of the Crimson Region in favor of keeping themselves safe. Grimstone Squad is split among different tasks, each doing their best to stop the tainted beasts and political issues that scar the city. Book Five - Acolytes A new year means new missions for the squires for Braytons. No more miasma and no more tainted beasts. The only worries the squires have are troubles of friendship and romance. That and the gods are now warring over the unclaimed Gilded Region. Nothing to worry about! Champions will be chosen. Secrets will be revealed. Who will be the victor? Zaniyah doesn't care. She's just here to have fun. Book Six - Lost to Faith Summer begins with exams for the new year. Afterward, Grimstone Squad is split apart by their upcoming missions. Lives are put in peril as a mysterious weapon emerges in the south, yet a greater threat looms over Sybil's head as an enemy reappears to threaten her freedom.
