《End of the World》Chapter 3

People don't want the aliens to attack as they enjoy the peace and quiet. They never expected to be attacked faster than they thought. Cities were destroyed, men kidnapped to be sold as slaves, and the women and children to be used as a way to reproduce faster.
No one knew that I was here for millenniums, but I knew that I would be needed again as there was another attack being planned. I searched the entire world, looking for the one that was compatable. As luck would have it, there is one: Jayden Brewer. He is now the last hope for the universe.
"Where is the closest enemy Sparky?" I ask.
'In twenty feet, they will be to the left. It looks like they are facing what is left of a squad.' Sparky told me.
I turned the corner after the twenty some odd feet and saw 10 cyborgs facing against 100 aliens. During the run, I figured out how to get the blades working(they're energy by the way). I went to strike one when another saw me coming and smacked me away. I hit the wall hard enough that I was dazed, but I then felt my body rise up on it's own and a visor appearing. I can still remember what happened and can repeat it if I needed to.
I was flying through the enemies, slashing away while at the same time enjoying how their guts spill out, spreading all over the place. Their lungs pierced to let the blood flow in, their hearts ripped out by my own hands. At the same time, I felt sad that I couldn't drink their blood while the visor was on.
When it was over, I felt good while slightly exhausted from that attack.
"Excuse me, but what squad were you a part of?" The leader of the ten cyborgs asked.
"None of importance, let's just finish the ground troops so that we can focus on the ships." I reply back. "I suggest that you go reinforce whatever squadron is in need." I walk off after advising them of what they need to do.

'I am just waiting for them to find out about where you came from. Also I have information for you.' Sparky told me.
"what is it?" I ask.
'Two things, do you remember about the ship that I told you about?' I just nod at that. 'Well, it has finished the repaires. And your friends look like they are in trouble.' He explained.
"What, they are in trouble?" I almost say as I realize what he meant. "Where are they?"
'They are in the farthest bunker from here.' He says. When I heard the location, I ran to it as fast as I could. I don't really remember what happened on my way there as I was too worried about my friends.
Before I realized it, I was in front of the bunker. I looked down to get a breather and saw that I was covered in blood. I just shrugged my head and decided to ask Sparky later. I also decided that if they asked me what happed, I'll say that a dead alien landed on me and it took a bit to get out.
I then realized that my visor was off and I didn't know where it went. When I did enter, I was asked some questions and had to do some tests. I was cleared after an hour of tests and allowed in. A soldier that was waiting directed me to a chamber and told me to take a shower and then change into the jumpsuit supplied. After that, I was allowed to go look around the place.
When I found them, I heard "Jayden! Are you alright?"
I just smiled and said "Of course I'm alright. Why do you ask?"
"I saw you fall into a hole. Before I could check, I was rushed to this bunker. Fortunately, the rest of the gang was here already" Emma said. (Emma is one of my friends that will be seen a lot.)

"I do admit that I fell into a hole, but I was lucky enough to slide down most of it." I replied.
"Oh, ok." She replied hesitantly.
'She is in love with you, don't you see that?' Sparky suddenly said. I just ignored that comment.
"I got a secret to tell you guys, but first I need to rest for a while. It was tiring to run all the way here." I tell them. They realize that I ran through several battles and led me to the room that they were given and let me use a cot to lay on. When they left, I saw Emma stay behind. She looked like she wanted to tell me something, so I waited until she was ready.
"Jayden, I have something to tell you." She told me.
"Well, go ahead." I say to her.
"I am in love with you, so can I stay with you?" She whispered so quietly that I wouldn't have heard if it wasn't for the change to my body. I was surprised when she said that. After a few minutes, I managed to think about it and told her: "One, it will be dangerous and two, yes you can if we survive this." After I said that, she looked ready to cry with relief and layed down next to me.
"I have something to tell you. I am a cyborg now and it started when I fell in the hole...." I told her the whole story up till the present. When the others came in, they told us that they heard the whole thing when they saw that Emma didn't follow.
"Doesn't matter now. When I am rested, I will go see what I can do next." I tell them.
They look like they want to say something, but I do not hear as I start to loose conscientious.
When I woke up, the others tell me that the military managed to take back the ground but are struggling with the air. I decide that the next thing I need to do is fight in the air.
'Sparky, bring the ship to above the bunker.' I say to him.
'Alright, tell me when you are there.' Sparky told me.
"Alright, I need to get to the surface and enter my ship. It should be there in a minute so go tell the officers to meet me up on the surface." I tell the group. Everyone but Emma left, she just does not want to leave me for a minute.
"Why don't you go help the others?" I ask her curiously.
"I don't want to leave you again if I can help it." She replied.
Well, can't blame her for that. I just shrug my shoulders and prepare to leave the bunker with a visor over my face. Oddly enough, when I needed the visor, it appeared over my eyes. Emma saw the visor appear and almost shrieked. I calmed her down and said that it helps.
When she has calmed down enough, we both leave for the surface. I was stopped by twenty guards, though they didn't know who I am so I can't blame them. I say "Let me through if you want to win the war." Oddly enough, They moved to the side, shaking in their boots.
"I am a human like you are. When the time is right, I will reveal my identity." I tell them. They seemed to calm down a bit when they heard that. We manage to get through the rest of the guarded positions easy enough. Though when I got to the surface, that was when I started to grow concerned about earth.

Cybernetic Dragon
Idea Seven, or Inter Dimensional Explorer Automaton Unit-7, has had a bit of an accident. Hijacking the egg of a dragon rather than its intended target of a bird egg, it isn't fully in control of its host brain. Rather the two, dragon and cybernetic AI interface, must work together to survive in a hostile world of magic, dungeons, beasts and adventurers. The AI must deal with being a machine from a world of science trying to carry out its mission of exploration, while the dragon, Rex, must deal with being a cyborg living with symbiotic nanotech that sets him apart from other dragons. What adventures await them? Author Note: I tagged this story GameLit because it contains concepts like levels, classes, and dungeon/beast cores. But, it isn't tagged LitRPG because no one has status screens, other than occasionally Idea Seven who likes to organize data into blue boxes. It isn't a natural function of the world to display level ups or skill ups with an announcer voice. I mention this to set expectations, because otherwise I feel like LitRPG fans might be disappointed by my lack of LitRPG elements while others might be turned off thinking I have a lot of LitRPG elements. I think that if you approach the story with an open mind you will appreciate the gradual way in which the main character learns and expands his understanding of how the world works, but the game mechanics aren't meant to take center stage to the actual story.

The question of Kai Lan's journey becomes not whether he will reach the highest peak of cultivation, but what he will be forced to do to keep his young Clan, and the happiness it provides, at peace. Note to Reader: I am not of an Asian background, but this work is heavily influenced by Eastern stories and concepts. In saying that, it is an INFLUENCE only. Keep in mind that this is a fantasy work, and any butchering of names, concepts or cultural objects/places/subjects are not meant in any way to offend. With that in mind, Happy Reading! - Jelim
