《Queen of thieves》Chapter 7

Following Trystan Morgana purposefully stayed one or two steps behind and made it look as if she was attempting to memorise the way as if unaware of her final destination. Finally arriving at the building Morgana had seen last night Trystan paused and turned around to look at her "Do you have the ring?" Morgana nodded keeping a calm appearance "Of course, is this where your boss works?"
Trystan neither confirmed nor denied but simply knocked on the door in a slightly different manner than yesterday, forgoing the password altogether the door opened silently. Upon seeing this, Trystan, followed by Morgana, entered the build leading Morgana through a variety of stairs and corridors he finally stopped in front of a large oak desk.
"Is this the girl?" asked the cool voice she recognised as the boss's, Trystan nodded and Morgana from moved out from behind him getting her first look at the boss. Contrary to her expectations he was a good looking boy who had shoulder length white hair tied back in a pony tail and icy blue eyes, he also only looked to be about sixteen years old.
"Do you have the ring?"
asked the boss clearly watching her like she was watching him, "Of course." Taking out the ring Morgana passed it to the boy who examined it for several tense seconds before returning it "Well either it's real or its a highly convincing fake, so who is your boss and what business do they want with us?"
Morgana grinned "I'm glad you asked but before that I have a question," ignoring the confused glances Trystan and the boss gave her Morgana removed her rucksack and turned it around so the cherry blossom mark was facing the boss. Tapping the mark she spoke again "Do you recognise this emblem?"

Trystan once again stared in confusion while the boss paled "That mark.....I see now...no wonder there's no announcement." Morgana gave a sharks grin upon seeing his understanding Trystan stared at the two of them "Boss, what does the mark mean?" the boss gave a rueful smile.
"Trouble, that's what it means but also that something interesting is about to happen, and so," the boss turned back to Morgana "what buissness does the queen of thieves have with me?" even Trystan gasped then, ignoring it Morgana spoke "My lady has grown bored of the city of thieves and sought a new target, she decided on Aegis."
The boss had a troubled look on his face "I see...and so how can I help?" Morgana burst into laughter "How can I help? That's a first usually people just swear to fight my lady and that never ends well." the boss shook his head "I am no fool and my wealth is not worth more than my life. Besides," he said with a sly smile "I feel I would get just as much out of the bargain as she would."
Morgana grinned "Clever boy, now for the sake of conveinience I am known as the carrier, and you are?" the boss grinned "It's Malaki." Morgana grinned "thank you for your cooperation I will be in touch the next few days with instructions" Malaki nodded "Of course, but what is it that the queen of thieves wishes to steal that requires my help anyway?" Morgana's grin widened "the city, my lady wishes to steal the city."

At The Precipice
Defenseless. Scared. Alone. That describes the life of Brock Carter as of late. Following his ‘death’ at the hands of a vicious magpie, Brock is rescued by the machinations of the newly instated, all-powerful System and thrust knee-deep into a brutal world catered only to the strong. Fluctuating between two states of being and trapped within a city ravaged by time, he is told to either seek out the mysterious ‘Source’, or die trying. He just hopes he can do it without scuffing his expensive suit in the process. ***** Honestly, I've just always wanted to write a story. I had a crack at it a few years back, but the entire thing fell apart before it even began. At The Precipice was originally written as a way for me to destress and play with System elements and characters, but eventually I decided that if I was gonna write, why not post it too? Writing's just a hobby of mine, so don't expect this to be at published novel level, I guess, or even anything of relative polish. Updates every Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs-Fri Average chapter length is 2000 - 3000 words ***** What to expect: - A semi-comedic/light tone, mixed in with a gritty world and brutal survival (not ever grimdark though) - An MC that thinks about what he's going to do and why he'll do it, even if his internal logic is lacking. Is a rather rational person, not often influenced by his emotions, but can be in extreme situations. - A plot heavily focused upon the MC, but one that will branch off to envelope the other characters in the world at times. Often, it's just other people's perspectives of him. - A story of power growth. While the MC is certainly going to be powerful, even over 100 chapters in from what I've written, he still isn't the strongest being on Earth, let alone the entire Multiverse. - Lots of gore, vivid fight descriptions, and often times deaths of people, some even somewhat important to the story ***** Things this story will never have: - Harems - An edgy, villainous MC - An MC that does jackshit about things for 'plot reasons'

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com
