《Another life》Prologue: The cliché death

‘Can’t believe i'm doing this.’
Standing in front of me is a white dragon with golden eyes. His wings were cutted, and his body is wounded. One of his eyes has been burned, and so does a part of his tail.
*Roar*
The dragon roar fiercely or should i desperately. Knowing he would die he charged at me.
“Len!”
“Yeah, I know!”
With a staff on my right hand, I start chanting and a dozen magic circles appear as I did that.
‘Ahh, this is soo exhausting can't I just skip this part?’
Finishing my chant I tap the ground with my staff, and the hole ground collapsed with the dragon.
People sigh in relief that the disaster has been avoided. I can hear people laughing, and some even cry after seeing this.
Taking some shade on a nearby tree, I make some water using magic and drink it.
‘How long has it been I wonder.’
Looking at the sky I start recalling my past.
--
I was just your ordinary high school boy who’s only desire is to slack of and avoided working and going to school.
My grades were good but not the best, my worst subject is social studies and I hate sport.
The things that I'm good at and likes are things like science, math, and things related to technology.
My hobbies are reading, playing games, and watching TV. You know indoors stuffs.
Well that's enough about me so let's continue on the event that will change my life completely, literally.
It’s morning and I was getting ready for school. Wearing my uniform I start checking for the things that I need for school.
“Let's see. Book, check handphone, check, money, check. Looks like I'm all set up for school, I think.”
Storing the items I left the house and went to school.
On the way there I started to read one of the books I packed earlier. It's not a textbook, it's a novel.
When I finished reading the novel, I once again grab another book. Again it's not a textbook, it's a comic instead.
I'll be completely honest here, the books that I mentioned before were not textbooks. Well there are few of them, but most of them are things like novels, comics and so on.
Putting the book I hold and replace it by another one from the bag after a few minutes. You may think that I'm just bored, but in truth I already finished reading it when I put it back, I'm quite a fast reader you see.

And after a few minutes of waking I arrived at school.
School wasn't the place where I called comfy. In fact there's so many things that I find annoying here I ended up hating school.
For example the rules. One of the school rule is “You're not allowed to skip school unless you're sick”. If I do break it then the next day I'll be getting some punishment and my score will be lowered. And if my score is so low I'll be stuck in here for another year, which I find it vexing. So in order to avoid that I keep coming to school everyday even if I don't want to.
The next thing are the so called “Friends” you'll have when you went to school.
Somehow no one had ever approach me and talk to me, and since I’m not good interacting with people I ended up being alone without making any acquaintances. Although I don't see it as a trouble I feel quite lonely since I don't have anyone to talk to.
The last thing Is probably the lessons in school. All of them are long and boring. Well I don't have any complaints on science and math since it's a subject which I take a liking into, but everything else it makes me want to sleep in the middle of it.
But even if I do want it, I can't. The reason? Is because the teacher are scary and if I was found out sleeping in class I'll be punished for it.
And after lessons end, and it's time for lunch break I always eat alone at the corner of the class. That or I went to the library and read some books, other than those 2 I didn’t do anything else.
So long story short, A pain in the neck rules + no friends + long and boring lectures + the same routine on every lunch break = monotonous high school life.
Today was no different too, it's the same old routine of my high school life. Since I didn't have any club activities after school I went back home after school was finished.
Walking back home while reading a book I see a scene which is one of the most common things in comics and novels.
*Truck Horn*
A truck was on it’s way to crush a girl, and the girl were standing there without moving.
The onlookers looks like they want to help, but they didn't since they know they won't make in in time. Well there's me and I'm actually pretty close to her but I decided not to do it.

Why? It's troublesome that's why. I'm not the kind of man who do something without any merit.
While seeing this spectacle, something unexpected happened ,for other people at least.
A boy who seems to be her friend ran to where the girl were and somehow manage to save her with only a few bumps.
It's a good thing right? Not really, for me at least. Why? Because the truck are now heading towards me, and even if I moved now I won't make it in time.
‘*sigh* die in the hands of a truck huh? How ironic, to think I'll ended up dead by this cliché event.’
Waiting for my death, my memories flash before my eyes. Ahh, this must be the thing that happened when you're about to die.
I saw me who was borned, me who was having my first birthday, me start walking, and etc. Honestly I didn’t feel anything seeing this.
Then as the flash of memorise came to ceased, I saw the truck in front of me and the next thing I knew see nothing else and I was trapped in a place filled with darkness.
“Hmm, so where am i? Is this the netherworld?”
The place had no trees, no houses, not even an inch of light.
“What's going to happen after this? Well I'll be happy if get reincarnated and have a cheat but there's no way something so convenient will-!!”
A ray of light then came in front of me, as I walked to the light and tried to reach it the light shines brighter and bigger that it completely cover my eyes making me unable to see anything else.
The the next thing I knew I was being held by a woman with blue hair.
She then handed me to another girl blond, and blue hair.
“Congratulation madam, your have successfully delivered a healthy child.”
‘A child? What are you-!’
I tries to speak but all i hear is a squeaky sound of a baby, qnd when i move my hands all i can see are short and fat hands.
‘Who knew that I'll be reincarnated with my last memories intact. What are the odds of that?’
With what the girl was speaking about I take it that this blond hair woman is my mother.
She looked at me, and after a while she showed a worry some face.
“Are you sure? Aren't babies suppose to cry when they were born?”
Ahh, so she's worry about that. And here I thought it was something more.
“Although it is true, but not all babies cry when they were born.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes, it is.”
I start feeling drowsy after hearing they talk. Maybe this is why babies sleep a lot. I tried to stay awake but at last I wasn't able to overcome the feeling of drowsiness. Giving up overcoming it,I fell asleep.
The next day I woke up and find myself in bed with a blanket on me. I tried to move my body and remove the blanket, but since my bones and muscle haven’t been completely developed yet I wasn't able to remove it.
Giving up on doing that, I sort out what happened yesterday.
‘Let's see, a truck hit me, I died, got reincarnated, and now I'm here? What are the odds of that?’
I tried to talk, but just likey other parts of my body, my vocal cords haven't been completely develop yet so I can't speak clearly.
‘Now then what do I do now?’
Without being able to move my body, unable to speak, or learn anything else. I have nothing to do.
*Grumble*
My body or should I say stomach let out a grumbling voice. Must mean I'm hungry, so in order for me not to get starvates I did what babies would do when they hungry.
“Huahhh!”
Yes, I cried. It's embarrasing but my survival cames before my pride. Wow to think I'll said it while I'm like this.
In response to my cry, the blond girl who seems to be my mother came.
“Now,now stop crying. You're hungry aren't you? Don't worry mommy will feed you.”
The woman exposed her breast and feed me.
‘Well this is… odd..’
A feeling of guilt, embarrassment, and satisfaction came to me as she feed me. While she's feeding me I feel the same drowsiness as I did when I was born, and like the last time I gave up and fell asleep.

Most of it is already written, but I'm going through the chapters and editing the shit out of them. This story is NOT a Lit-RPG, so no blue screens or anything of the sort. It is just fast-paced fiction with slight cultivation elements. Updates are bi-daily (so every 2 days), and chapters are 1500-3000 words. As always, feedback is more than welcome. Why are you still reading the synopsis? You have already decided. Go ahead, give this story a shot. It's worth it.
