《Heroes of the Collapsing World》Prologue: Apocalypse

Screams and the sound of crumbling building. That sound can be heard from all corner of the world. This school was also the same.
From heaven a large chunk of meteor had started dropping like it was peeling it skin. A large chunk dropped to earth. It made a large shockwave together with the heat wave that immediately burned human the moment they made contact with it.
To someone that thought that few minutes ago it was still their usual peaceful everyday life. This scenery was almost like a joke.
Did you watch the movie with the title 2012? It was a movie about natural disaster as the base of the apocalypse. In that movie the world was cleaned by that natural disaster and human can only come back after the cleaning.
Compared to the thing happening right now it was a rather kind apocalypse. Because unlike the movie this apocalypse came suddenly and didn’t even get detected until it became visible with their eyes.
Most likely human will perish. Everyone thought about that.
No. At this rates not only humanity. The other living being on earth will also went extinct. Because judging from the size of the meteor it was possible to destroy third of Earth’s surface.
The world will end today.
As if it had fixed about it. The meteor didn’t break in the stratosphere and was still in its huge shape, and headed to Earth.
Currently on a certain school, Asusfalse k-12 school, had a meeting at the hall because they were about to enter our exam week. Because of the religious reason they were having a religious service first before entering the briefing about the exam.
However in the middle of that. The Earth suddenly shook and the ceiling above them started to fell apart because of the fragment of the meteor that rained down.
Upon seeing the large meteor above them, the students started to panic and run for their live. They didn’t realize that no matter where they run to, there was no safe place on Earth.
Some got crushed by the debris of the celling. Some sacrificed their friends so that they can escape from this building faster. Some tried to calm the other that was crying because of the despair. Some tried to control the chaos in this room. While some just stayed at their place looking at the humongous meteor that will be the last thing they see.

Yuu was one of the few people that stayed on the spot, and looked at the meteor that slowly descending to him.
In the mildest of this unfortunate event he was fortunate enough to not get crushed by the celling.
Is it really fortunate? Wasn’t getting crushed and granted instant death is better than being burn alive? He thought by himself.
While thinking of such thing the meteor already went closer enough to make him want to strip out from his clothes and jump into North Pole Sea.
Why am I still alive? He wondered by himself.
However that didn’t meant that he was left unharmed. He felt that his skin and eyes were burning, and he was on the verge of being blown away by the meteor’s wind pressure.
He wondered how many people were killed in this short few minutes. He can no longer hear people’s scream. He thought that it was because his eardrum was already broken.
Either way it was irrelevant for him who was about to die. Or so he thought.
As if the time had stopped, the meteor stopped in midair. So did the fragment and other people who were still alive.
“We’re saved?”
Just when he finishes saying those words, a crack appeared in the space. Of course he thought that was strange because it wasn’t supposed to happen. The same goes for the time stop.
The crack increased and spread everywhere as if the space itself was crumbling. Finally a hole was made from the cracks. It didn’t stop just at one hole. It continued making cracks until his whole vision was covered by the cracks. It was as if he wore broken glasses.
And so the space itself broke like a glass. The glass fragments beautifully reflected the light like a kaleidoscope, making his eyes went blind for few seconds.
Around ten seconds had passed before he got his sight back. However in those ten seconds an unbelievable thing had happened without him knowing it.
The sky that was blocked by the humongous meteor was not there when he opened his eyes. It was changed into a clear blue sky with several cumulus clouds that made it not too hot while the gentle breeze would calmed his mind.

The chaotic scene of people sacrificing each other was replaced by the beautiful hill. The small weeds on the ground gave a calming sound when the wind breezed through the field.
This must be a dream. He honestly believed that.
“WHERE THE FUCK JUST HAPPEN!?!?”
Because of the loud voice and unmake sense words. He was awoken from his dream and looked toward the owner of that voice. It was someone that he recognized.
A well-shaped face with a shoulder length curly brown hair that was tied neatly. A healthy brown colored skin and friendly round eyes. The person that was on the list of unfortunately good looking guy that wasn’t popular because of his loudness. His name is Huke.
Yuu happened to remember him because of a small talk he had with his gossip-loving friend. Huke also usedto be on a same club as him.
“WHAT THE FUUUU……!”
“Shut up!!!”
“URGH!!”
Huke was forced to shut up by the person that was also present at this place. Unlike Huke who was on the unfortunate list she was on the opposite list. In short she was one of the people that people want to date with.
Long blue hair that was tied into pony tail. Sharp eyes with natural long eyelashes, which made her look beautiful and cool at the same time. And that athletic body that didn’t show any unnecessary fat.
Her only unfortunate point was he tempered personality and her small breast that existed to grant her mobility. He heard that she half-killed someone who said something about her breast.
“ Ouch, ouch… That’s hurt Selia! You didn’t have to punch me you know.”
“Huh? If I didn’t do that then you won’t shut up for a while, and look around you! This isn’t the time to be panicking.”
Unlike her temper and her sharp eyes. She was surprisingly calm and fast in the uptake.
It was just as she said. This wasn’t the time to be panicking. When he looked around he found several other people other than him and two of them. Twenty… no there were twenty five when including him and the other two.
There were several people that he knew for example the teachers and the other school personnel. However he didn’t know most of them. Moreover it wasn’t just high school student like them but, there were also people who were clearly younger than him, and even a child.
They all look confused with their situation and didn’t even let out a voice. They only thing they did were gathered with the people they knew.
Even though they all were tense from the fear of not knowing what happened to them, and their location. They all started discussing among themselves. Yuu also gathered among the people he knew.
And just like that the twenty five people here were divided into four groups.
The high school group which he was in and the other two from before. Middle school group which full of people he didn’t know. Grade school group that only had three people in it.
Usually they would be together with the adult group. However because they won’t understand what the adults were discussing, they were separated from them. And finally the adult group included the teacher and school personnel.
The twenty five people who more or less, didn’t have anything in common except they were on the same place, were suddenly stranded in that unknown place. They all had the same question in mind.
What will happen to them next?
Edit note: changed perspective to Yuu

The Skies of Aurora (To be rewritten in the future)
The Skies of Aurora A world full of thousands of islands spread throughout an endless sky with no ground to be seen beneath them. Here we find Shawn Blake, who lives a quiet life near a dungeon on the Isle of Fallen Snow. Very few people ever visit the Isle of Fallen Snow because there is only one dungeon that has a connection to the island in all of the endless Skies of Aurora. Thanks to that, Shawn has been able to live peacefully on the island with nothing but his training to worry about, despite being a hybrid of more than one of the five ruling races. However, unfortunately for Shawn, his peaceful life is about to come to an end as some visitors make their way to the Isle of Fallen Snow for reasons unknown. The world of Aurora is a world of endless skies full of floating islands separated by open air with the void far below them, and the only way to get from one island to another is through portals that are located at the end of each dungeon. These portals are connected to the central portal on another island. This book is a litrpg, fantasy, and sky world all in one. I hope you enjoy my book, and I welcome any and all suggestions.

Twisted Skies
After his master's death, Thurain leaves his rural home behind and travels to Heliana, the cramped city founded on the scientific progress of cultivation. Under a fake name, he aims to enter the Elemental Path Sect, the place of his master's death, to find both his killers, and closure. However, surrounded by the strange and horrible wonders of Heliana and its mixture of heroes and villains, his master's death is not the only murder he may have to solve. --- First attempt at a xianxia novel from me. To shake things up from the usual formula, the setting is more steam-punk than you might expect, and there are elements of murder mystery mixed in with the standard formula (though I'm not entirely sure yet how far to go with it.) I wrote this a while ago for NaNoWriMo, only posting it now for various reasons. Enjoy. Also, cover is highly temporary. I'll probably replace it with something nicer eventually.
