Arc 10 - Unholy War - Part 5
New York:
A Nazar clone is accompanied by magicians. The magician next to him is a big man who has robes around his body. It is hard to see his face properly.
Both of them stand next to each other. They get ready to go against the army of thousands of undead that are coming towards them.
For the magician, it's not a big problem. He can one-shot any of the undead.
But… Nazar, who is the most powerful being on the planet, his attacks are doing nothing to reduce the number of the undead.
They stand together. The magician prepares a spell that will attack the undead continuously without placing another spell.
Beside him, a Nazar clone stands. He has no idea how to defeat them. The only thing he can do is buy himself more time. But for how long?
All the Nazar’s across the world are standing still. They punch the undead and all it does is slow them down for a few minutes.
The Moon:
Back on the moon, the original Nazar and Emily leave the mindscape.
“What now?”
Nazar asked the question. He is possibly the smartest person on Earth, but he does not really know how to think. Most of the time he does not know what he needs to do, so he relies on fiction. He gets ideas from there, but something like this has not happened in fiction. How is he supposed to come up with an idea?
As Emily heard that, she sighed.
“Why don’t we start with teleporting one the undead?”
“Eh? Are you sure? I don’t think that’s safe.”
“Then what are you here for? Are you not the most powerful person on Earth?”
He looked around the messy room. With a small movement in his fingers, he created a confined space that will hold the undead.
Then within the confined space, an undead appears. The undead looks like a human, but it is not a human at all.
“Now what?”
“Tell me your power list again.”
“I already did last year...” He stopped before he finished his sentence. He realized that not everyone can remember small details from one year ago. “Strength, speed, flight, telepathy, telek...”
Before he could finish, Emily said, “Like read its mind, right? Then can you use it on this... thing?”
Nazar proceeded to use telepathy on it. He was expecting feedback like he died from the new forms of undead, but instead, he did not get anything. The mind of the undead is blank. There is nothing. Except for a few commands.

The commands are coded into their brain like how a programmer would do the same into a robot. These beings are nothing but robots with flesh.
The commands are: “Kill any human you see. Don’t attack Nazar at all.”
Nazar then faced Emily and said, “There is nothing in their brain except a few commands.”
Emily frowned and said, “Continue your power list, please.”
“Okay. Telekinesis, energy manipulation, vector manipulation, teleportation, healing factor, self-duplication, size manipulation, invisibility, matter manipulation, atomic manipulation, x-ray vis...”
When he was telling his powers, Emily noticed a power that can help them.
“What’s atomic manipulation?”
“The ability to manipulate matter on an atomic level.”
Emily seemed pleased.
“So, can use that power to disintegrate him atom by atom?”
“I have never used it before, but yeah it could work.”
He moved his fingers and before them, the undead turned from a human looking being to nothing. Atoms are too small to be seen by human eyes.
When he disintegrated him, he separated the being atom by atom. Nazar saw each atom coming apart.
They both looked closely and there they found the similarly shaped marble.
Both of them had a puzzled look.
“Why did that marble not get disintegrated?”
Nazar looked closely. He analysed the marble and it did not matter.
“It’s made of matter. But for some unknown reasons, I cannot manipulate the object.”
“Can you destroy that marble?”
Nazar Picked up the marble and with a small pressure from his fingers, the marble shattered into pieces. The undead vanished too.
They both looked at each other and smiled.
“See, you should have done this by yourself.” Emily taunted him. “More reasons why you cannot do anything without me.”
The thing is, all his life Nazar never had to do anything like thinking by himself because Emily was always there.
The Nazar on the moon teleported out of the building and into New York. As soon as he did that, his clone noticed him. And without any words, the clone merged together with the original.
From all across the world, the weapons and technology of Nazar teleported back into his base on the moon and each Nazar moved faster than ever. They all appeared behind him in New York.
The magician was still attacking the undead and then he looked back to see hundreds of him in one place. From hundreds, it lowered down to tens and to just 1. All the clones merged together with the original Nazar.
“I know how to kill them,” Nazar told the magicians in a happy and confident tone. “But before I do that, I need to test this theory of mine on at least hundred subjects.”

The magician moved back a little. He also stopped his fire on the undead.
“I understand.” He then looked at 002 and told him, “Hey, you. Move back for a minute.”
002 did as the magician asked. When he first came here, he was sure that he could kill them but now he was not so sure. So, he slowly moved back.
Nazar now stands against hundreds of undead. They are all gathered in one place.
He speeds up while still standing in one position. He moved his fingers and hundreds of the undead turned into nothing. Of course, they were now just atoms but a normal human cannot see that.
As soon as they got disintegrated, Nazar moved. He had already accelerated enough and just moved. He moved so fast that he saw the particles in the air stop. He moved so fast that he saw the bonding of hydrogen and oxygen. He moved so fast that fire froze in one place. He moved so fast that the road beneath his feet started to melt. He moved so fast that he threw 002 and the magician back.
In his super speed, he moved around and collected all the marbles. He collected them and destroyed them. All the undead vanished.
All the magician and 002 saw was nothing. It was too fast for any of them to see it.
But a kilometre away, Nazar was smiling. He knew he can win and he knew he can save Earth.
He came back to the magician and 002.
He stood in front of them like a king. He was confident and had a grin on his face.
“I have a plan.” He looked at 002 and continued. “I know how to kill them. So, will you help me?”
002 looked puzzled, so he said, “Let me ask me my team leader.” He lifted his finger to his ear and hit a button. The line was connected to everyone in his team. Nazar saw all the radio waves coming out of it. “Nazar wants to work with us. What do you guys want to do?”
A woman on the other end of the line said, “Eh? Work with him? Not in million years.”
They all said something similar. Until one person said, “Do you want to work with him?”
“Yes, 001. He has found a way to kill them.” As 002 said that, Nazar knew that his plan might work.
001 on the line said, “Okay, we will help.”
“Eh?”
“What are you talking about?”
“No way!”
The chatter on the radio increased. But 001 said, “Shut up. Without him, we cannot save the world. And also I am the leader. So, yeah what is his plan?”
Despite being the leader, he still does not seem like he can control his team. Maybe he is inexperienced?
002 gave the com to Nazar who placed it in his ear. “So, this is the plan. There is a marble in their chest that can kill them permanently. I want you to find that marble and destroy it. I need the help of the speedsters too.” Their team had a few speedsters. “The speedsters meet me in New York. The others, I want you to do whatever it takes to slow them down for us.”
Nazar then looked at the magician who was standing before him. “Raj, will you help?”
“Yes, but we will help differently. There is a spell that we can cast. This spell will kill all the undead but it can only kill about a hundred thousand at a time. And it takes one hour to prepare the spell.”
“Perfect! I and the speedsters and the others will slow them down. And you guys prepare the spell. We will kill as many as we can and if there are any left then the spell will wipe them out.”
“Okay.” As he said that, the magician teleported to another place. He was in contact with his friends telepathically so they all teleported to the same place.
The speedsters arrived. Nazar looked at them. They were slow but he can still use their help. They were only travelling just over Mach 6, but Nazar can travel easily over Mach 100.
As they arrived, he told them how to kill them and what to do. He already explained it but he wanted to explain it again.
In his plan, one speedster is supposed to go to Mexico City. Another to Berlin. Another to Tokyo. Another to Mumbai. He wanted them to start in those cities then move on to other cities. And Nazar? Well, he will take care of the rest.
“Remember, we have one hour,” Nazar told them.
Once the assignments were assigned, Nazar teleported each on to their locations.
Nazar stood alone once more. So, he sped up and moved towards the enemy.

However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
