If… No it can’t be… I’m not that lucky… right?
Baron Verthus’ second child was born just a month ago, and just like normal premes their eyes were squinted. In the beginning, I didn’t pay any heed to the fact they were always squinting, afterall it didn’t matter what the color of their magic was. It didn’t matter to me after all my soul job, given unto me by Lady Thierra, was just to help raise them.
I remember how hesitant their parents were to give them their first bath so early, after all they were such a tiny little thing. For a month we gave them wet rag baths instead of normal ones, still we all knew that they had to get used to full baths soon or a later. So it was decided that once the child was one month old they would have their first true bath.
However, when it was time for the child’s first bath, something I never could have anticipated occured…
At first, the child didn’t react much until we brought them into the washroom, however once they saw it they started flailing about like a panicking ikonami (basically a cat ). All babies squirm around during their first bath after all it’s something completely new to them but still they didn’t react until they saw the tub. Almost like it knew exactly what was going on, and was protesting like a ikonami against the action. Once they came in contact with the water, however its eyes were wide with terror, as if it knew what was going to happen, and was about ready to scream ‘Bloody Murder!’ at Lady Thierra.
The child had always been very quiet and seem to dislike loud sounds in general so this undoubtedly shocked Lady Thierra. I however was stunned by something else and snatched the child to confirm what I saw to be true. Alas much to my ire the child quickly shut their eyes preventing me from seeing them, however I was sure I saw in them the topic of my long abandoned research.

Reaching for One's Desire: Kane's Ascension
After living most of his life as a worthless orphan, Michael Kane only desired for the chance to make something of himself in this world of monsters and magic. In a world where only wealth and power mattered, he was literally at the bottom of the food chain. He fucking hated it. Always having felt that he was destined for something greater than what was essentially a beggar’s life, Michael held hope that things would change with the arrival of the Day of Gaia’s Gift, which happened exactly halfway through the year. It was the day in which everyone that was fifteen years old was given access to the System and was given a ‘Class’ depending on your aptitude, two if you were exceptional and lucky. It was his hope that he was given at least one class worthy of becoming an Adventurer, which would help him start his path to a life of wealth, fame, luxury and pleasure. Being an orphan that never knew his parents and having no one that he cared for nor that cared for him, it was not surprising that these were Michael’s goals. Little does he know, that he is destined for even greater things.

Dark Winter
It is always darkest before the dawn. After the divorce, Katie Fox was forced to live with her mother in New York after the judge ruled that her father, a former Army Ranger, wasn’t stable enough. They called him ‘that crazy bunker guy’ or ‘that paranoid freak.’ Whatever they called him, Christopher Fox was a Prepper. He taught those willing to listen how to survive in a catastrophe and how to prepare for the end of the world. More than that though, he was her father and she would rather spend her life in his underground bunker than another minute in that New York highrise. So, she ran away. The date is November 28th, Black Friday and hell has been unleashed on the world. A freak storm mixes with a deadly virus that turns its victims into mindless hunters of flesh. Katie will have to use everything her father taught her to survive and reach the safety of his underground bunker. Note from the author: Thanks for stopping by! The Egg Guardian
First and foremost, I must apologize as this story is currently on an indefinite hiatus. School, my main project, and writer's block have gotten in the way. I was rather unprepared when I began posting this and kind of just did it on a whim. Thus, I shall ensure I am thoroughly prepared before posting anything else, but I plan to return to this someday to conitnue it. What better retirement plan for a scumbag than to become a demon? Whether he likes it or not, that's Berrick's only choice. Heaven thinks hell is getting a little lukewarm and Berrick is just the guy to heat things up again. Follow Berrick as he works for home and hell as one of the few Egg Guardians. Author's note: Are you looking for bad writing, terrible dialogue, short chapters, and slow releases? Then you've come to the right place! This is honestly just something I'm writing for fun and figured I'd publish while I'm working on my main project, but I always appreciate constructive criticism so I can improve. Picture obtained on google.
