(I wrote this bonus content relatively fast today. Also I’m single so I have nothing better to do hahaha)
James is 18 years old and living with his grandparents after his father's death.
It's a lovely spring morning. The birds are singing and it sounds like they are singing, "sweet weather."
James is getting ready to go to college. His grandparents drive him all the way from Toronto to Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. There, James studies police foundations and he's in his final few months before he graduates.
James arrives at the campus for the first day of the semester. He sees a group of girls talking with each other and amongst them is the prettiest girl he has ever seen. She has red hair and the most gorgeous blue eyes. James' heart skips a beat.
He continues to walk down the hallway towards his locker where he hangs up his jacket and puts away his backpack.
His first class is an elective called 'Art History'.
James wanders down the hall where he sees his buddy from the police program. He's a few inches taller than James and is a lot more muscular. He would make the ideal cop.
"Hey James, what's up? Haven't seen you in a while. Can't wait to graduate!"
"Hey John. And yeah man. Should be an exciting semester. I'm doing fine. Nothing much going on."
"You seem a bit different than usual. Everything alright?"
"Well I saw this girl in the lobby…."
"Oh damn James you have a crush on her?"
"Hahaha. Kinda."
"Let me give you some tips. You need to work out more. You see these muscles? Girls love 'em."
"Well I only have time to hit the gym 3 times a week."
"Well what do you do the rest of the week to be so busy?"

"I mostly read comics and stuff."
"You're a huge nerd man. And you actually want to be a cop?"
"Well yeah. I mean that's the only way I can catch the man responsible for my father's death."
"Well I'm sorry for what's happened to you. I know you would make a great cop. You definitely have the heart for it."
Both guys walk away to their classes.
James steps in the classroom. He can't believe it. The same red haired girl he's seen in the lobby is in his class. She's sitting at the front of the room at the far right.
He decides he won't sit close to her mainly because he's too afraid. James sits at the very back.
"Okay class. My name is Mr. Polentko. Check to make sure you're in the right class. We always have at least a couple people realizing they're in the wrong class."
Everyone checks their schedules. 2 people stand up and get ready to exit the room.
"Hahaha I figured," the teacher says. "Anyways, we will be studying the history of art. Can anyone tell me what museum the Mona Lisa is kept in?"
James raises his hand.
"Yes go ahead young man at the back."
All the students at the front turn their backs to look at James including the red haired girl.
"The Louvre Museum in Paris, France."
"That is correct. Someone already knows a little about art! Good!"
"Can anyone tell me how many times it was stolen?"
No one has an answer to this except you guessed it… James.
James raises his hand.
"Oh it's the same guy. Go ahead hahaha."
"It was stolen once in 1911."
"How did you know this young man? You even know the year."
"Well I read a lot of comics. There's this comic I'm reading and the newest issue talks about their plot to steal the Mona Lisa."

"Hahaha that's good to hear."
An hour passes and everyone exits the room. The lecture is over.
James and the mysterious red haired girl actually bump into each other accidentally while they are leaving the classroom. Her notebook falls to the floor. James picks it up and hands it to her.
"Oh sorry for that. I was in a hurry."
"Yeah no problem. Anyway my name's Vanessa."
"My name's James."
The both of them shake hands.
"So James I actually read comics too. I'm actually studying art design and I plan to become a comic artist."
"Well I never expected that."
James' heart is racing. He's actually met a girl who has the same nerdy hobby.
"Yeah well see you tomorrow?"
"Of course I'll be here."
*The next day*
James is eating his bowl of cereal. He's more upbeat than usual. His grandparents notice this.
"You're different today James," says his grandma. "You're excited to go to school or something?"
"Yes I am grandma. I actually ran into this girl in one of my classes."
"Oh James don't tell me you're in love already?"
"Hahaha I don't know yet. We've only just met."
“Well James, I was your age when I met your grandfather.”
Hours later, James makes his way to the art class. He sees Vanessa sitting in the same spot. He decides to sit next to her.
“Hey,” James says.
“Hello James.”
“Oh great. She even remembers my name,” James thinks in his mind.
“Hello class. Did you all get to do the homework I assigned?”
One student says no loudly. The teacher laughs. “Well that’s no good. That homework was to prepare yourself for today.”
“What kind of teacher assigns homework on the first day anyway,” the student says arrogantly.
The teacher shrugs this off and continues his lecture. Half way through the lecture, he tells everyone to get in groups of 3.
James pairs himself up with Vanessa. They have to look for a third partner, but they come to the realization they are stuck with the student who made the arrogant remark.
“Okay class. Now that you're in your groups I will explain….”
The class ends. Vanessa and James are talking with each other in the hallway.
“So James, I’m actually free this weekend.”
“Cool. I actually know a coffee shop close to where I live if you’re interested.”
“Don’t consider this a date or anything,” Vanessa says with a laugh. “I actually like coffee, so I’ll accept your offer.”
*Saturday*
James and Vanessa are sitting in the coffee shop.
“So James I never asked you what you were studying.”
“I’m in the police foundations course.”
“Oh, so you want to be a cop?”
“Yes. I have my reasons for choosing this.”
“What’s the reason?”
“Well as you noticed I live with my grandparents. My father died in a shooting a couple years ago.”
“I’m sorry to hear that….”
“Well enough of that. Let’s talk about something happier.”
“What music do you listen to?”
“My favorite band is AC/DC.”
“Oh so like Back In Black is your theme music,” Vanessa says with a laugh.
“Well that’s my second favorite song.”
The 2 of them finish their drinks and make their way outside.
“Well James I had fun.”
“Same.”
Vanessa moves closer to James and gives him a kiss. This is James’ first ever kiss.
Both of them eventually get married a couple years later!

I will note that, as pretty much all LitRPG novels have, that, to a certain extent, I have taken inspiration from other works I have read. This, however, is an original fiction. I hope any and all of you who read this fiction enjoy reading it just as much as I enjoy writing it, and please feel free to comment - I recognice that this will need work and will have things like typos - please feel free to point out any obvious things I forget about or miss out, as well as any typos. Also, feel free to lob suggestions my way if you have any - while I may not use them, they could very well inspire me in some way or another and help me improve this fiction, even if just by a little bit.
