The waffle cone was snug on Floof's nostrils, and Poot's lethal butt was situated securely on the patoot's back.
"Let's go girl! We have a chomp to save."
Floof galloped with the swiftness of the wind itself. They didn't need any signposts or navigation devices to know where they were going. The remains of half eaten pies dripping cream and custard on the grass traced a path of their own. It was clear the chomp would not go down without a fight. If Poot and Floof had their way, he would not go down at all. The sun was setting, they would have to move fast.
Eventually, they came upon the lone tree where the chomp had found Floof again. Around thirty to forty pies still remained, and they had the tree surrounded. The brave chomp could be seen sitting at the base of the tree with his back against the trunk for support.
He looked to be in really bad shape. His left eye was completely red and flecked with berry seeds - evidently the fallout of an attack from a triple berry pie. His hair looked like it had been shampooed with custard, his face looked like it had been lathered in edible shaving cream, and his jiggles... Oh dogs above, his jiggles. They were gone. Not a single jiggle remained. That was the worst sign of them all.
Floof yowled loudly in concern. But the pies did not listen. It looked like they were readying themselves for the finishing move. Poot got off the patoot and turned his rump in the direction of his foes.
"Yo pies!" He screamed through gritted teeth.
The pies finally turned in his direction, assessing the new threat.
"Dessert is served."
BADOOM!
The sound of the blast carried all the way to Daifuku.
