《1000-Hit KO》The Beginning

Author Note: Jk I wouldn’t actually leave a cliff hanger like that… or would I ( ?° ?? ?°)

“As for you… Nem, I declare thy a…” At that moment, Seraphina stopped talking and paused. It was as if she knew she was creating a cliffhanger to piss off readers! The real reason, however, is because of a certain program that’s to run once the basic tutorial is completed. “Nem, it seems to me that there is already a pre-registered class, however you do not meet the requirements to join this class. Although normally you would be unable to access this extra class, your account has been set up where you may pick it despite not meeting the requirements. The choice is yours.”

Nem was flustered for a moment. “Damn, just what sort of requirements did they make for this character? Even scores as high as mine can’t get this class!” Nem thought in his heart as 2 holographic discs appeared in front of Nem.

“Bladewielder is the class you would have been normally assigned, however there is a pre-existing class in your account known as the Spear Bearer. Although this class is closed to the public, the requirements that would have originally been set up is the following:

APM: Mu class!

Reaction Time: Mu class!

Aiming Rank: Tian class!

Whichever class you would like to be assigned is up to you.” With that, a button appeared on each of the two discs that read “Advance”. It appeared that you would press this button to confirm your selection.

While Nem was deciding what class to select, many things ran through his mind. First of all, it truly seemed like this job advancement was canceled during production because when Seraphina started to monologue, her usual cheery demeanor turned cold and monotone. It seemed that the developers rushed to add this part just so that the fortunate fellow with this account may play it.

Another thing that bothered Nem was the requirements. If the requirements were set up to be intimidating, all the class requirements would be Mu class. Although Ming Yu in real life was useless in social skills such as nitpicking details such as this in conversation, Nem in the game was for some reason sharper and more shrewd. Where Ming Yu lacked in intelligence, he made up for in shrewdness. He could see that the Tian class ranking on Aiming meant that the developers somewhat considered this ranking. Otherwise, they would just plaster Mu class on everything and call it a day! This was the main cause of Nem’s indesition. If 504 APM is Tian and he needed a Mu ranking, just how hard is this character to play?

Nem put those thoughts aside for now. No matter what the reason, at the end of the day the evidence points to this character being OP in some way. (OP means Overpowered meaning something is so strong that it’s just not fair.) After all, if there wasn’t something about this character that would command fear from game balancers, then why would the tournament team members be limited? Could the game developer be a sadist?

For whatever reason, he gave up LoL to play this character and a little intimidation wasn’t going to stop him from choosing the Spear Bearer. Nem was confident in his skills and truly believed that this class wouldn’t be too hard to play.

When Nem pressed Spear Bearer, a light appeared all over Nem. As the light transformed his previous clothes into what appeared to be the Spear Bearer’s beginner’s gear, Seraphina’s strangly monotone voice rang in his head. “Since the Spear Bearer class isn’t open to the public, class gear is impossible to find. From now on until you reach the Mu Master class, gear will be provided to you at every rank advancement. Good luck; have fun!”

As Seraphina finished talking, the normally white and plain scenery around Nem began to shift. The area under his feet began to change into grass, and the background filled up with hills and if one looked even further off there were mountains on the horizon. If one were to talk about the game MobRingler, they would say that this, is the true beginning of the game. This was the area every new player would be placed onto after tutorial. This place’s name is as simple as it’s scenery, the Green Plains, also known as one of the only single player areas in the game! This is where all players would spend their time from their start all the way to Dou Bishop class.

One of the best part of MobRingler is the fact that it would tell you how long an area would take you to clear. This greatly benefits players who have to go to school or have to sleep early due to work, although there is approximately a margin of 30 minutes for error, the time estimate is usually fairly accurate. Nem saw this when he arrived at the Green Plains. A box of text appeared in the air that read:

Green Plains

Beginners quest

Rank Requirement: Dou Ronin class

Estimated Time: 3 hours

A frown appeared on Nem’s face. Although he is used to pulling all nighters and doesn’t need much sleep in between gaming sessions, today was a really taxing day on him. Also, there were certain matters that Nem needed to address the next day. Following Johnson around the whole day, followed by the rapid paced tutorial ended Nem at around 10PM. Normally, he would continue on until midnight or a little bit more. Any more than that would lead to health problems and getting sick means losing valuable time. After pondering whether or not Nem wanted to tough this quest out, he decided to stop the game there, for today. If he were to take on this quest, he knew he wouldn’t have the self restraint to stop himself from doing more. Instead, Nem logged off and went to sleep.
