Chapter three
Jillian zipped through traffic in her little mini cooper to try to get to the police station as quickly as possible, she even found herself driving a little above the speed limit, nothing that could really get her into trouble but her own recklessness surprised her. Jillian knew herself very well, she was the most straight laced person on earth. In fact she was such a 'by the book' person that she didn't really have any friends. She didn't drink, she didn't smoke, she has never been arrested, she has never been late for work or missed an appointment, she didn't go to the cinema because she would rather curl up at home with a good book and she doesn't like to go out of her house unless she has to. Her colleagues at work call her robot Jill and wet blanket Jill behind her back when they think she isn't listening but she didn't mind. She knew who she was and she was happy with who she saw in the mirror, that was why she felt that it was bizarre that she had suddenly become more adventurous and the moment she noticed her momentary slip, she immediately reduced her speed to the legal speed limit and drove carefully until she reached the police station.
Jillian parked her little car, adjusting it repeatedly until it was perfectly positioned between the lines in the police station parking lot in a textbook perfect way. She got out, locked her door and headed towards the door.
When Jillian went inside the police station, she was met by a familiar sight of a security checkpoint. Andromeda city was an extremely violent city and had the highest rate of gun violence in America so all government buildings and even some privately owned ones have these security checkpoints set up at their entrances. The security checkpoints consisted of a metal detector and a couple of armed guards with metal detector wands. Jillian didn't wear any jewelry so she just put her keys in the tray that was used to put personal items that contain metal and walked through the metal detector without a problem. The guards looked at her with strange expressions when she passed through but they waved her inside without saying anything.

Once inside, Jillian clipped the ID that identified her as an official Prosecutor of the city and headed towards the interior of the building.
Because her job involved working with the police so much, she was very familiar with the police station. Andromeda city had a large well funded police force that was housed in a rather large ten story building with five wings that radiated from the central building like the five petals of a flower when seen from above. Each of these 'petals' were big enough to be separate buildings, they even had their own separate helipads complete with a helicopter resting on top.
The building layout was a little confusing but since Jillian knew the way, she walked through the hallways without hesitation but as she continued to go deeper into the building, she was surprised to see that there were very few police officers in the building, much fewer than the amount of officers that she usually saw when she came to the station because of her job. The whole place was almost completely deserted and the officers she did see were rushing about like their asses were on fire, not even taking a second to glance towards Jillian.
She was wondering if it had anything to do with the war that old man Jeff had told her about when she reached the entrance to one of the wings of the building, the 'petal' of the flower that was entirely dedicated to homicide.
Jillian had just made it through the door, still deep in thought about the war between the Macalister family and the Manelli family, when she ran into an equally absent minded man and fell down on her ass.
The man she had run into was rather large, his well defined muscular body clearly visible through the white shirt he was wearing. He had a close cut military style haircut, handsome features and usually had a friendly smile on his face but it was absent today. Instead he looked exhausted and had a haggard expression on his face. He had dark semi-circles beneath his eyes, dark enough that they were clearly visible even though he had dark brown skin. His brown eyes, which usually shone with vitality, looked dull like the eyes of a doll but after the little accident, the man looked up from the file he was reading and his haggard look vanished as he noticed Jillian on the floor. He immediately knelt beside her with a look of deep concern plastered on his face.

"Jillian, is that you? What the hell happened to you ? Jesus, if I had known you were in such a bad shape, I wouldn't have asked you to come."
The man Jillian had ran into coincidentally turned out to be the man she was looking for, Detective Edward Briggs.

Is That A Wisp?
Author’s Note: The start of the story is very slow and cliche. Give it a chance until the wisp reaches the human cities. It’s at that point that the book’s charm shows itself (Around chapter 20, all free!).

Cthulhu Gonfalon
Cthulhu Gonfalon is a story about a man who woke up in another world. After a drink over his loss in a game, Sui Xiong ended up in the middle of the sea. Surprisingly, he now found out he no longer existed in a human shape but in a spirit state without any flesh. In order to survive and find a way to return to Earth, he then searched for a body to accommodate his spirit. After several confrontations with some creatures under the sea, he decided to settle for a jellyfish flesh. This Jellyfish was extraordinarily huge. With its tentacles, it caught others’ spirits to nurture its own power. In this world, Sui Xiong wasn’t only matchlessly powerful but he also had an ability to cast magic. With this gifted ability and combined with his knowledge from the civilized world on Earth, he could help a deceased person resurrect, change a person’s look, and do tons of other crazy things that he didn’t know. As his journey to discover this world went on, he encountered many bizarre and mystic creatures along the way, who were Gods, Humans, Devil Beasts, Giant Dragons and lots of other undetermined organisms. Some of them might insanely worship him, while others hated him. Some might become his enemies. Some might end up becoming his teammates in the end. From a gamer on Earth to here, he became a God (even he himself could not verify this yet), had his own religion and even a church with a Holy Land to fight for justice. What kind of world is this? What kind of existences might live in this world? What kind of secret this world owns? Can Sui Xiong return to Earth? Keep on following the story to find out the answers for those questions. Little explanation about Cthulhu: Cthulhu has been described in appearance as resembling an octopus, a dragon and a human caricature, hundreds of meters tall, with webbed human-looking arms and legs and a pair of rudimentary wings on its back. Cthulhu’s head is depicted as similar to the entirety of a gigantic octopus, with an unknown number of tentacles surrounding its supposed mouth.Thank you for reading updated Cthulhu Gonfalon novel @ReadWebNovels.net

Statless
Summary Alexander Weiss, an intelligent and slightly unusual man, always dreamt of becoming a mage. Sadly, reality is harsh and even his best efforts never allowed him to achieve his goal during his lifetime... or did they? One has to be careful what they wish for, lest they might live to see it fulfilled. Description Follow Alex, a man whose pursuit of magic could not even be stopped by his non-magical reality, going as far as to create it himself, only to encounter an unsurmountable obstacle shortly before achieving his lifes goal, denying him all access to these powers. His journey will take him through a miraculous world, full of wonders, magic and manic beasts trying to devour him! He will learn much about this world during his adventures, exploring individual aspects of the System and the various monsters that came from it... or did they? Strong points What you'll get from this novel is the following (read with overly enthusiastic salesman-voice) : • An ending! I'll complete it, no matter what. Well, not "no matter what", but as long as I don't unexpectedly end, this novel won't either! • Good grammar! Might not be perfect, but it's definitely good enough to not detract from the story in the slightest. I'll also fix any reported mistakes as soon as possible, be they grammatical, syntactical or just inconsistencies. • No plot-armor! Or plot-weapons! Or plot-... potions? And no plot-holes! If you see some, it's most likely information that is being witheld for future revelations! But in the (hopefully) very unlikely case of such a vile beast being encountered, please inform me immediately and I'll see to slaying it without grace! (Translation: If you see plot-holes, tell me and I'll fix them) • Logic! [Hidden : Spoilers][Hidden : More Spoilers] [Moved to Chapter [Hidden Spoiler]'s Author's Note] Marvelous, I know! • Blue Boxes! And maybe something more! • Sensible retroactive edits! Not to be confused with radioactive edits! You'll not have to re-read previous chapters, even if they get some major edits. If they were to receive new information, I'll add that very information to the newly released chapters too, in a reasonable way. • Realism! Shocking, I know! Especially considering the tag related to that and the point about "Logic!". This also means that the story will be... well, realistically depicting a pretty messed up world. Don't expect bunnies... at least not cute ones. • Relatively faster paced! No long and boring descriptions of irrelevant stuff. There will be some longer descriptions about important things, but that's gonna be necessary world- and/or character-building! • Short action! Might not be a plus for some, but you won't have to look at a whole (or, god forbit, multiple) chapter describing a fight against the same enemy... • Strategy and hard progression! It's a dog-eat-dog world! No grinding/power-creep! If you're up against three enemies of your level at once, you've already lost! • Understanding! It will be mostly about discovering the wonders of this new world and how it became like that, all while trying to survive. So there will be enough action nonetheless! • Humor! Sometimes dark, sometimes light, always at the worst moment! • Constructive critics, welcome! Destructive critics, nope... I can handle criticism though, so don't go easy on me! Just make sure it's really a mistake when complaining about something. • Will add more in the future! If I can think of more stuff...
