Chapter 14: Triangle_sword1

Understandably, both Mary and I felt awkward around each other. After all, who wouldn’t. Still, why did Mary ask Edward to help her propose to me? I really could not think of an explanation. After all, I never did anything heroic or anything remotely cool or kind to make her fall in love with me.

After clocking out of work, I went back to the weaponsmith’s.

‘Welcome— Oh, it’s you.’ The shopkeeper shouted from the anvil, where he was hammering on a sword.

‘Ah, I want to make another weapon.’ I asked to buy some materials and rent some equipment.

‘No need to rent the equipment. We have a spare in the back that you can use if you want.’

‘Ok. Then I won’t be polite.’ I picked up the spare equipment set, which was stupidly heavy, and brought it to a corner where I wouldn’t bother the shopkeeper. Since I could craft a katana, I think that I could craft a weapon that I used to use during my military days.

I picked up a one-metre long metal rod, and started hammering it into a triangular shape. It was very irregular since most people had a sword that was sharp on two sides. However, my sword was going to be triangular due to the peculiar sword style we were trained in.

During my military days, I was a part of the saboteur division, responsible for assassinations and sabotage. Although we were primarily trained in rifle and pistol usage, we had to train is the sword due to the superior’s… traditional methods. Although I was terrible at using rifles, I was number one in the entire army at using melee weapons.

Therefore, I decided to use a special sword instead of creating a rifle. I don’t think that I will be able to pull it off anyways..

Once I finished with the blade, I made sure to make the blade taper to a point at the tip. I then started toughening it. Once it was done toughening, I made sure to use the grindstone to smoothen the flat sides, while also making sure to sharpen the tip as much as possible.

When it was done, I was left with something that looked like a triangular needle file, but shiny and sharp.

Picking it up, I checked its status.
