《Meanwhile》Meanwhile 11- Of Demon General Midbosses and Heroes

Of Demon General Midbosses and Heroes
I would say I've achieved self-awareness at a very crucial time in my life.
My name is Kentras, a demon general who rose through the ranks thanks to my particuarly nasty methods against my enemies.
Which enemies? Humans, of course.
Demons and humans have been at war for... I dunno, like a thousand years. It's kindbof interesting to think about.
Initially, I think it was just a normal war.... but then things got racist.
The humans founded a church that vilified demons and developed "holy magic" which hurts demons a lot.
I say "holy magic" because all they really are doing is channeling pure hatred into light magic and because the users specifically hate demons it hurts us a lot more than anything else.
On the demon side of things after the humans created their hate church the nobility started getting really uppity about how barbaric the humans magic was and their new time low is scummery.
In the current ear, between humans and demons, its a kill on sight thing with both sides treating the other like cattle.
Although, until me, nobody thought to keep humans as living mana batteries so... I guess I crossed the last line.
Anyway, so how exactly did I self-realize and change my mind about the situation?
I, Kentras the Despicable, having been a virgin for 30 years, decided on a lonely night while very drunk, relieved myself on the human mana batteries.
After that, Iboth realized that sex is awesome, but also that human women feel amazing. A year later, some of them got pregnant.
That's when it all hit me. Demons can't have children with livestock. For the first time, I start to see humans as sentient beings.

From there is spiraled out of control. Unbeknownst to the general population, I stopped appearing outside.
I used a blood magic clone to replace me, while taking care of the women and children.
At some point, I learned the human language. Then we all started talking. I've learned... so much from these women.
I became a changed de-man. I stopped drinking, started playing with the kids... turned into a family man.
It became clear to me, especially from what the girls have told me, that it would be a good idea to clear out.
The human church managed, using a lot of demons as sacrifices, to summon hero's from another world.
The demon race is going to be at a huge disadvantage once the stalemate is broken.
After consulting with my wives, we've decided to head south toward the uncharted islands.
My blood clone has agreed to stay behind and act as the mid-boss against the hero's party while we escape.
Part of me is very very very upset about abandoning the demon empire... but my clone has confront the hero's party numerous times already on their journey.
The church has them completely under their control, they have fully bought into the propaganda.
Well, except for one guy who went north into the wilderness. Thank god, he's a lot stronger than the rest of them. I'm glad a man of his caliber has a head on his shoulders.
I talked to him a few times and he agreed to come visit once he's done mapping out the northern forests.
I digress.
Whats important is that my blood clone will be making a sacrifice. He will have his famous last words, saying something about the peace of the continent.
The demons will remember him a hero, the hero and his party a great enemy. Hopefully, his last words can make them think things through before they kill the demon king.

Meanwhile, I'll be taking my harem of de-women and women south to the islands.
Hopefully we can start a new nation, one in which all the races are under one banner.
Some of best subordinates, mage theorists, and some "scientists" will be joining us on this journey.
They hope we can provide a place for new scientific and magical research.
Should all else fail, I managed to acquire some summoning magic. After reversing the effects, we can head off world to escape this madness.
All that's left.... ah, the fight with my blood clone has started.
"Hero! It is time for use to finally fight with our lives and countries on the line. I will not let you continue to slaughter my people and invade our empire... and you must continue your quest to return home.
Us prisoners of fate and our nations endless war, let our battle be glorious!"

Dungeon Core? Nah, I Think I'll Just Get Super-Wealthy Instead
The cycle is simple enough. A Dungeon Core is born from a wayward soul. It seeks power and agency, and works to accumulate wealth to fuel its power, in turn using this power to accumulate further wealth. Inevitably, the mind is lost as desperation and ambition drive it to commit darker and darker acts. Shortly thereafter, the adventurers arrive to quell the core. This is a tale that has repeated itself countless times throughout history: all cores desire power. And yet, this core seems to have it backwards. It doesn't want to rule the world. It has no desire to enslave or conquer. No, this core doesn't want to be a warlord, a villain, or a tyrant. It wants to start a core-poration. After all, when money is power, what greater weapon is there than capitalism? Join a dungeon core that wastes an absurd amount of time and effort trying not to be evil on his journey to earn fat stacks against all odds. -This is a 'Dungeon Core' type fiction with LitRPG elements in it. The start may be fairly slow compared to the average. Expect roughly 2.5k per chapter. -I'm only a hobbyist writer. As such, there may be the occasional error and pacing may be poorly-handled. Constructive criticism is alway welcome. I'm just here to write stuff that makes my brain release the g o o d c h e m i c a l s. -I am trashy and I like monsterpeople so you can expect an awful lot of those as we get further in. Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you enjoy.

Bet you want to know how I got stuck inside of the internet don't you. Well, it is a long and tragic tale that starts very simply. With the release of a game. Not just any game mind you, it was the release of the first ever full dive VRMMORPG, cliche sounding I know but bear with me as I thought the same thing. Any explanation on how it was released is beside the point just know that it was and I, just as any self-respecting gamer would be was extremely fucking hyped for it. The game was called 'Legend Has It' and the allure was that you would get to play as a god or spirit and interact with a vibrant world of NPC's. So I began to play, eager to experience this for myself, little did I know my life would change forever. So sit back, relax and let me regale you on how I got myself stuck in this predicament, for it starts with a boy, a game and a battle between gods. Ominous I know, let's get started.
