[Using the Batteries for the first time. Trash become Gold?]
"Alright, since everyone is here, listen well as I am only going to say it once."
"Your Quota to success in this request is to mine a total of ten full carts of mining rocks. And in the same time, we hope you could provide more than quota says, so we have additional pay for those who could continue to bring more! Your initial Payment is 5 Black Spirit Crystals for the two of you and ten contribution points for the four of you."
"Now, for the additional reward offered. Five Black Spirit Crystals or five points will be given for every 10 full carts of mining rocks. If you could bring us a total of 60 Cart of Mining Rocks in three days, we will give you a special [Tribute Crystal] that could be used to enhance your equipment."
"If you understand your task, you may begin. The three of us will be at the Mill Area here to process the mining rocks you bring as well recording your progress." the speaking staff finished his words as the other five miners quickly rush into the tunnel with a cart. Meanwhile, I am still standing on the exact spot thinking about something.
Tribute Crystal? This is a new thing again. But since he said about enhancing your equipment, I guess that this crystal will be required to upgrade my Refiner Stove? I begin to plan on how I should start with the mining because no matter how good I am, it will still take me at six hours and forty minutes to complete a ten Carts quota.
Sneakily, I whisper a word that only could be heard on my own. "Battery Conversion, Activate!" at that instant, a circle of light begin to appear at my ring, as it starts to turn like a clock. in the middle, ten dots could be seen arranged in two lines, five dots each. There is another bar on the bottom, like a loading bar that indicates how long I need to wait to possess one battery.
"Young Man, is there anything wrong?" the one that spoke just now came over as I was still standing on the same spot. "Oh, it's nothing, I'm just considering about the 60 full cart of mining rocks. I was thinking about how to properly reach the target, without over exhausting myself." I honestly tell the person, as he wasn't really looking down on me or whatsoever.

"I see, then you should get on the track now, Sixty Carts is not too much nor little. So you better be starting right now." he finishes his words and returns to the side of another two, and I head deeper into the tunnel that wasn't taken. Looking at the circle shown from the ring, I notice that the loading bar actually progressing quite well. About five minutes passed from the moment I activate the ring and speaks to the person before we finished and I start to enter the tunnel.
Based on how the loading bar progressing, I guess It would be around ten minutes for each Battery Conversion. I quickly reach the end of the tunnel, and as I lock the cart on the side and begin to withdraw my pickaxe to start mining. Like usual. It takes me six hours and forty minutes to complete a ten cart, as I continued with the next batch.
Looking at the amount of my battery had already reached its limit, I felt like making use of it. Of course, after I checked on the experience point I gain on the Skill, it becomes (10/1,000) which means, each time a battery is converted, one experience point would be gained. I pointed at the Pickaxe I put at the side of the wall, and on that instant, I whispered: "Activate!"
"Pring!" a dot from the lower stack is missing its light, as the pickaxe started to move on its own. Like it was a machine operated tool, the pickaxe actually have the capability to mine the rock in a sequence that unknown even to myself. The pickaxe movement is very fluid, and since it was battery operated, the mining process does not stop in between, but continuously until ten minutes is over.
That ten minutes actually double the results of what I will require at least twenty minutes to obtain. Since I have 9 more batteries remain with me, I used all of them in that spot, and manage to cover 5 full carts in that 100 minutes. The remaining 5 cart still takes 200 minutes from me though. But within this five-hour, I managed to cover the ten carts I required, so I spent some of the time to recover my stamina before I continued.
It would be extremely weird as well if they suddenly noticed that my progress had gone up by so much, so I should be very careful. With this additional 100 minutes I managed to save, I use half of them to continue mining deeper. With nothing else to convert into the batteries, I would be required to mine some of this to fill into my compartment anyway.

Each cart contains around 2500 units of the mining rocks, wherein total, around 800 is required to be milled and sieved to obtain close to one single Brass Component. Sometimes, some Copper Component too will be included within the rocks, but that is a rare case unless one is so lucky to stumble across the vein with Copper within.
With 50 minutes in hand, I am able to quickly obtain one full cart amount to be kept in my compartment, as I push the cart back to the Milling Area. The moment I reached the area, I am looking at four of them already tired and taking their time to rest before they continued, while one more is following behind me as we exit the tunnel almost in the same time. (He was in a different tunnel, just the track link us together.)
I had the staff tick another ten cart for me before I walk around the Mill Area in search for something. "Hey kid!" one of the staff saw me snooping around the Milling Area, and called out to me. "Yes?" I answered. "If you have free time, go and take a rest, don't loiter at the Waste Area. That area has nothing but the remains of powder from sieving the rocks," he informs me as he worried that I will end up missing into somewhere and stop helping them to mine more rocks.
"No worries, I will come back as soon as possible, I just want to see what is kept behind that area." I replied the staff, and quickly went past the tunnel, before allowing the staff to continue talking. The moment I entered the tunnel, I am shown with a huge mountain of waste deposit, full of sack that is either well tied or half exposed.
Within, at least more than ten thousand sacks of powder deposit is thrown away, awaiting the nature to claim them back. Looking at this treasure, I did not hesitate and quickly went over and start to gather as much as I could. Since the bag is created to almost to fit enough a thousand units of powder within, It is pretty much easy for me to grab all of it, but after fourteen sacks, my progress stopped.
Eh? What happened?
I checked on the availability of the compartment and noticed that all the compartment I have actually full. This is ridiculous. Now I know why they said that this is a trash heap, nothing could be found here. With even a bag of trash will takes 1000 units, I wonder how much one will need to go in and out before they could clean this up.
I activate the Battery Conversion, and it begins to convert a total of 10,000 of the trash into usable batteries. But unfortunately, the material used for conversion will only vanish as the item is successfully converted, so the material still remains in my compartment until it is completed. But since I had already found out this fact, I did not feel too bothered by it, instead, I know that I will need more compartment soon in future.
But before this, I should make sure that my current task is completed!
I walked out from the Trash Area, and entered the tunnel I went previously to continue mining for the rocks. This time, without the assistance of the batteries, I could only patiently mine for a total of six hours and forty minutes again, to obtain ten full carts of mining rocks. I repeat the same sequence for the whole day, and in the middle of the second day, I finally completed the sixty cart request.
The staff couldn't help but praise me for my effort. He withdraws a piece of rainbow coloured crystal and put it in my hand, along with four small coins. On the coins, one is printed with an Anvil face, while another is with a 10. three of them is a ten Anvil Coins, while another is a fiver. "This is what we use to indicates how many contribution points you have, bring it back so you can use it to exchange for some materials. Thank you for your great help, we will make sure to make the Blacksmithing Workshop rise up again as the strongest Workshop in Ling Hun City!"
I could only cheer along, but before I left, I did not forget to spend some time to convert the remaining batteries, before I collect as much trash I could and leave the Ore Cave. Since there is already around few day I didn't go back to the Refining Workshop, I quickly return and report myself to the guards. I get in without any worries, but within the entrance to the Refining Central Workshop, a huge banner written with some words quickly get my attention.
"REFINER WARS!"

Keys of the Endpoint
Keys of the Endpoint is an illustrated web serial about the re-birth of civilization in a fantastical world suffering from a recent apocalyptic event. Every day, people appear from the storms that ravage the Endpoint. Whisked away from their own time and place by storms in their homelands, these newcomers find themselves in a hostile place made up of ruins and people from every timeline imaginable. Stranger still, they all soon discover they're carrying silver keys that grant each holder incredible powers. On Earth, most people have mundane excuses for the disappearances, but not Isaac. Having lost his brother Finn to one of these storms, Isaac becomes obsessed with finding a pattern. Not to prevent more people disappearing, but rather to get taken by the storms himself in order to find his brother. While chasing Finn’s faint trail, Isaac soon discovers how little he really knew about himself, his brother and how much loss one person can take. In Keys of the Endpoint there's portal fantasy, personal drama, magic (useable by everyone), plenty of combat, power progression, mysteries, factions, feuds and eventually war (in that order). The magic system is well defined and modular with nigh infinite combinations. The story starts out with one of the two main characters looking for his lost brother but quickly expands in scope from that point on. A loose thread
The goddess picked him up. He tried to struggle free, but her grip only tightened. Eventually her thumb caught his head, pulling it backwards. He stared helplessly as she brought her free hand closer, revealing a small vial in her massive hand. She pressed it to his lips, and he felt the contents flow into him. He tried not to drink it, but his body would not listen. Despite his revulsion, his body ignored him by drinking deeply. "Drink and forget. I will give you everything you ever wanted. A loving family. A comfortable home. And then, " Her grip tightened, and forcing the air out his lungs. He coughed up the strange liquid and caused more to spill. “And then, you will pay for your defiance. On your twentieth birthday you will remember.” She pulled the vial away and turned him to look at her. “You will remember, just as everything you love is taken from you, right before your eyes…” Her voice trailed off and his world went dark. .... The above leads right into the story. The first chapter is a bit rough as the MC (a child at the time), hurts himself rather badly. I will try to include similar warnings on chapters as the story goes on, but I want to be up front that I may miss or forget things. Many of the tags are included so I can have flexibility writing the story. I am posting this largely to hold myself accountable to keep writing. Chapters will be short, but I am planning to post weekly. This is the first thing I have written (you've been warned). I am enjoying the story and I hope you will too. Please feel free to let me know what you think of the story as it progresses.
