— CHRONICLE SYSTEM INITIALIZING —
“Happy 18th birthday Drak and welcome to the chronicle system, your thoughts and actions will automatically be uploaded to the cloud. To answer the first question all new users have, nobody will have access to this chronicle until 100 years have passed after your final death. And as an extra measure if you so want peoples names and places can be changed.“
Wow I thought is this thing reading my mind.
“As for the second most asked question, no I do not read minds just after multiple billions of inductees it is not that hard to figure people out. Now going by past chronicles from your world you will soon be woken up by your caregiver to start your induction ceremony. This is the end of the automatic message more info will follow in time.”
Just as I finished processing the message I was woken up by my dad.
“Drak wake up you lazy bones. I swear you would oversleep and miss your own funeral” my dad chuckled. “I’m betting you just got access to the system, because of reasons explained later we are forbidden to speak of it o people before they come of age. Now get your ass into gear clean up have breakfast and off to the Guild”
So as any good son would do, I threw my pillow at his head took another ten minute nap and then rushed through a cold shower and grabbed some toast on the way out the door.

It was only a small five minute walk from my house to the Guild. I guess that now that I have the system I should describe my town and its history little bit while I walk.
(Drak’s note: some of this has been edited with info I got later just to fill in the blanks now and put stuff better into context, I will try and do this sort of this as little as possible)
After the system got integrated and everyone suddenly got powers the world went to hell, combined with monsters and other races appearing, ninety nine percent of humanity at the time perished. After roughly fifty years the system was done fully integrating and decided that nobody under 18 would have access to their powers. With that humanity was finally able to rebuild and started forming city states. Thew new alien races and some of the more intelligent monster races did the same.
My town is called Masterdam and is apart of the Edge alliance of city-states. Our town prides itself as being the center of learning for the alliance and is one of the more diverse cities because of it. As long as you follow the laws any race and class combination is welcome here. As to the north we have a big river and to the east west and south we have marshes our city prides itself into not having need of a all encompassing wall. Thats not to say we don't have any defenses. As there are only three ways through the marsh on the raised roads each of them have a gatehouse with maybe a couple hundred feet of wall on each side. Combined with smaller guard towers dotted around the perimeter there isnt much that can threaten the town.
By this time I had made my way to the Guild. It was right next to the town hall and was apparently built into an old church. I went in and walked up to the reception desk. It was manned by a little old lady called Janice, nobody knew her last name. And when I mean old, she was a high elf and is rumored to have manned this desk since the founding of the town 1200 years ago. When asked about it tho she just smiles and says you never ask a lady her age.

“Happy birthday Drak, or should I call you mister Nolan now” Janice greeted with her ever present smile.
“Now now Janice” I replied laughing “No need to be so formal. I remember you babysitting me when I was a kid and nobody who has changed my diapers should call me mister Nolan. Besides that my dad.”
She chuckled at that. “The guildmaster and the town clerk are ready in the back, just head an through and they will explain whats going to happen and lead you to the induction room.”
“Thank you Janice have a nice day, and I hope I will see you at the party tonight at my house”
And with that she unlocked the door and I walked down the hallway towards the exam room.
