Mana, the existence of all live revolves around it. We can do just about anything as long as you have the Mana required. When I first got my power I was shocked, as a unique power can fall only into 3 categories. 1: it starts very strong but can never get stronger, 2: it starts with strong and gets stronger, 3: it starts weak but can grow eternally. My power is the 3rd however these powers are with you from birth. supposedly, mine on the other hand took years to develop and I noticed it when I was 14. this was strange, I wonder if this means there are 4 types of unique powers or if mine is just a powered up 3rd.

I am currently lost in my subconscious, me lost? I should have put a few maps in my subconscious to help me get out of the endless floating in a dark void room. If I remember correctly I killed a dragon. that was fun. good times, good times.

I am still floating in darkness, it is getting lonely. wonder if this will work.

"stats" I said and sure enough, a blue box floated in front of my vision, showing I could put some points from levelling up 20 times. I put 5 stat points in Luck and the rest in Dexterity. I want to be fast enough to avoid big damage dealing enemies and able to hit more accurately with long range weapons. that is what Dexterity does right? I hope.

I notice at the top of my stats screen my health is shown at 1. unchanging, my Mana on the other hand was showing infinite... not sure what happened there.

[To Wake Up An Update Is Required]

That... I should have guessed. cant play an out of date game.

"Options" I say clearly, as an options screen shows comes out of somewhere? It has different control pads that change things. one of them sure enough is an update button.

I push the yes button and It then says

[After this update. level and stats will reset to adapt to a new system, there will be no further changes to this. do you except? Y/N]

I am being told I wont wake up unless I update and it is just giving me reasons not to update? sorry but a small amount of progress can be made up from and it does not say anything about my skills, never waking up is a big problem. So sure enough, I push the yes button

Then all blue boxes go away, they were pixelated so they did not blend in well with the world around them and were hard to look at, however It was better then the nothing I was floating in...

A light then flashed so bright I could not tell where it came from but it blinded me for a second before I heard a voice.

"At the rate he is going I will be surprised if he ever wakes up" Said someone who I am guessing is the nurse.

"I'm awake" I say as I open my eyes and the 4 people in the room look like they had a heart attack. The Headmaster is there and so is Kate my new partner who is no longer in the academy's uniform, the uniform is supposed to be a dark black wizards robe that makes everyone look the same, however I guess normal clothes are aloud when it is the weekend, there is also a nurse who has an axe in her skull... moving on there is also my...

"BROTHER!!!" I said shouting as I have not seen him in a while

"Took you long enough, normally updates only take a second but I guess yours are more complicated then my 8 bit games, But I cant believe you fought a DRAGON alone. you realise if you invited me to your party you would not have been left on 1 HP." he said stating something I never thought was possible.

"Party? wait a minuet, create party" and sure enough a party menu is formed in front of my face. except it looks. new? it is not that different but I cant put my finger on it. until I look at everyone else's faces looking at the same box.

"Yep that is definitely more advanced then my party menu. It has more options as well... Wait, you get experience? that is just not fair." he said looking at the experience share button.

"Invite me" kate says at me wile my detect bloodlust is showing... nothing, and it is max level. maybe she is nice when people have nearly died.

"Invite Kate White" I said without a care that I was not supposed to know her full name yet.

"How do you know my last name?" she asked.

"It is written above your head" I said honestly. to this she looks up then looks back to me

"It is not" she says like looking up made a point of the matter and was the proof she needed. she then notices the box in front if her face.

"What is this?" she asked like she did not know... wait she grew up around the headmaster all her life, she may have no actual clue what a game is.

"It is a more advanced version of an MMO" I said hoping I would not need to explain

"What is an MMO? is it some kind of energy power?"she asked seriously and questioningly.

"This is going to take a while" I whisper under my breath

(30 minuets later)

"So an MMO is a game" Kate says with a confused expression on her face?

"YES" said me, the Headmaster, the Nurse, my brother, and the few people who stopped to watch this as they thought to would be amusing, the stopped thinking that quarter of an hour ago.

"And he has the power over this MMO game?" kate said again questioningly

"yes" I said

"I dont get it" kate said honestly

I walk over to kate and place my hand on her head "INFORMATION TRANSFER" I shouted with a smile hoping it works.

"Oh so that is what a game is, why didn't you say so?" she said innocently

"..." it left everyone speechless

"and people called me hopeless? I see why we are on a team now. the 2 hopeless students?" I said jokingly

"close enough" the Headmaster said still shocked at how long this took and the lengths we had to go to explain what a game was

"So headmaster, care to enlighten us why she had no idea what a game was? dont tell me you never gave her a break from training?" I said almost trying to make him feel guilty

"Urm... well today is a Saturday so you best be off to your room and have fun" he said obviously running away from the question. "I left some GAMES in your room to play, why dont you show my daughter how to play them" he said knowing what came next. Kate grabbed me by the head and started running saying "Thanks dad"

"WAIT!!!" it was a Monday when I fought the dragon, how long have I been out?" I asked to my surprise Kate stopped in her tracks and the headmaster walked over to me and said. "3 weeks, im sure you can catch up with your ability however you should probably still know"he said worried how I would take the news

"OK, anyway I have games I need to play, also my level and stats reset so don't drag me to hard" I said. everyone showed no surprise at all, most likely my brother found out or the headmaster found out through their ability or something like that and told everyone.

Kate then began dragging me through the air. Just another day at the academy. well. 3 weeks but silver lining, I am still alive. and hopefully for at least a month I will stay alive. Maybe? Please? oh well, if you cant count on the powers above, count on your own strength
