Loveheart followed his instincts, he ran like a coward. The four centipedes waiting for their commands stayed, but a few of them followed after Loveheart. The two left behind did their best to fight off the swarm but they were quickly torn apart.

Loveheart passed a tunnel, narrowly avoiding the dragonfly that lunged out, he couldn't say the same for the Centipede that was following him.

Another centipede decided to stay behind and stall the dragonflies as best as he could as well.

Loveheart emerged from the side of the hive and just kept on running, the dying screams of the last centipede was heard as it didn't make it out in time.

Running along the highway Loveheart frantically made his way back to base but tripped on a decayed corpse. A dragonfly swooped down to grab him but it was thrown to the ground by a centipede.

The single-minded. he had forgotten about the two. He ordered them to cover him as he flee and the centipedes followed after him.

Finally, after avoiding the dragonflies Loveheart got back to the Den. Derek ran over to Loveheart and asked "Hey what happened?, where is everyone?, did you subjugate the hive?"

Loveheart looked up, panting. "No.... we almost got annihilated" The sound of wings were heard and the wall that barricaded the front of the cave shuttered, as if something collided with it.

"Crap they followed us back, Tell everyone to prepare to fight, except the girls they need to rest."

Derek nods and he rushes to get everyone.

Duncan looks down at his phone, He tackled the hive to early, his scouts only told him that a few dragonflies were entering and leaving the hive day and night, he didn't know that the majority of the forces were protecting the queen.

"I should have thought of all the possibilities" Duncan groaned.

From the aerial view of around his base, it looked like the entire hive was attacking. With the forces I currently have, I wanted to save the acid mantises for later, the sentient one would be a huge loss as well. The Humans were needed and the sahuagin added diversity. Duncan sighed to himself, everything wasn't expandable, the only ones he was willing to give up was the newly born centipedes, all of them were regular lesser acid so it wouldn't have been a huge loss if he sent them out to fight.

Much of the materials were used to set up a spiked barricade to prevent the dragonflies from entering, The few points he got for them eliminating the dragonflies in the raid allowed for some minor purchases but I looked toward the eggs and my available points.

231 points: Duncan could do a very dangerous radioactive enhancement on one of his survivors, the fatality rate for this was 95% but adversely of reason I needed something powerful.

Duncan decided to take the gamble and the newly born centipedes as well as a mantis were put a room. He then nuked it with 200 points of Radioactive enhancement.

The centipedes cried out as one by one they died, the group of 6 centipedes were no more. As for the mantis is just froze, it's body was turning to stone until it became a stone statue. Duncan sighed in disappointment, the gamble just decimated his forces and now he lost points too.

Everyone was frantic, Sandra was crying, hugging the last remaining centipede within the group, the eggs for both the centipedes and dragonflies were of no use in this siege.

He could make a wall to stop the hive from advancing but then he would lose the farm land and pasture outside. He could try the door but he remembers that something tried to get in between an army and an unknown danger, he had a better chance of fighting the unknown then grasp a 1 in a trillion chance of winning.

Duncan sighed as he made up his mind, he made a wall to block the barricade, and gave the order "Try the door best chance of getting out" I recommended, everyone was hestitant but now that the door tunnel was sealed the only way was remove the rubble to clear the rest of the tunnel or they could take the door.

Derek's POV:

The atmosphere was grim, the hive on top of us and no way out with low supplies, man it just sucks. I didn't like being encased in this stuffy underground tunnel, my base was a moving nomad circle, if one area was dangerous then the people I commanded could move to a different location, I had a few harpies and bird people and a few good animals to pull the weights but I was unlucky to encounter a bandit clan that chase down their prey to the last man.

My survivors were killed by exhaustion from running or slain by the bandits.

Man I couldn't take it anymore I abruptly stood up and grabbed a spear heading down the hallway. "Hey where are you going? a girl called and I looked back at her. "Testing the waters, I hate being holed up, you shouldn't worry about me just deliver that baby and live on"

Man trying to be cool in my final moment I thought to myself. I approached the door and opened it, Spear pointing up and looking around.

It was dark, the only light source coming from the door behind me and..... wait two light sources?

I looked up into the darkness and saw some flashing lights, eccentric designs that captivated me. I notice it growing closer and closer before it stopped some feet away. The lights flashed and everything went dark for me.
