《The Rebirth of a Emperor》The Odd Prince

Year 12.325 After the Founders, Spring 44.
It’s been three years ever since the birth of young Diaz, to him these were times of melancholy and solitude, for his family, although not negligent or in lack of love, had little time to give him any attention, making him spend most of his time either alone or with his caretakers like his nanny, Matilda, a caring old woman past her youth with no children.
Diaz, listening with an uncanny silence to the stories that his nanny told him, began to slowly piece together some information about his kingdom as he simultaneously learned the local language, and being a monarch himself in the past, quickly understood that this nation's situation was not a good one. It was beset by internal problems and external ones, he did not yet knew the specifics for his nanny saw no need in telling difficult stories to a toddler, but still as much as she tried to tell stories of his father and grandfather in a caring and warm tone, he could tell there were plenty of conflicts in this nation.
Still, understanding and caring about it are two different things, for young Diaz, in his first years was still shaken by the realisation that this is a different world entirely and that he just experienced rebirth, trying to grasp at anything that could disprove what he just came to learn, as futile as it was. Unfortunately for him reality would always hit him hard, and this made him close off his heart at start.
This of course worried both his family and his caretakers, for they could not understand the boy's heart or why he never cried, barely ate and had no interest in anything around him.
To some at court this odd behaviour made him creepy in the eyes of children and adults alike. Even though his father Kniva and mother Cassandra wanted to do something about it they were too busy with affairs of state, just trying to keep the country together.

And so the image of young Diaz began to circulate: That of an odd and perhaps mentally ill child, making many imagine a bleak future for him.
One of his recent actions also did not make his image any better, for he began to secretly go to his nanny room, staying there fiddling with her sewing tools. Matilda knew this was a weird behaviour for a young toddler and planned to chastise him, however she gave up on the idea when she was face to face with the boy and allowed him to do as he pleased as long as she watched, for she felt pity for the boy who always seemed depressed and alone, she also thought that perhaps this was better than him staying frozen like a statue looking at nothing as he used to do.
The boy then began at first to stubbornly sew something in a small piece of cloth, for even when Matilda attempted to do it for him he simply shaked his head and continued to do it himself, stubbornly and clumsily filing his fingers with needle holes without crying. With time however the boy began to timidly pull her skirt as if asking for some help or advice, for young Diaz hands were too small and he clearly did not know what he was doing, for the first time Matilda found herself happy for the boy rather than sad for it seemed he finally began to open up a bit, acting more like his age.
As Matilda helped and got closer to her young protegee, she began to notice that the boy was far more intelligent than she gave him credit for, for he could understand her words and instructions far too easily, and could speak very well although he did so very rarely. “Perhaps, one day this young boy would give a scare to everyone who thinks low of him” thought Matilda at that one moment.

While his nanny was busy looking out for him, young Diaz was desperately trying to make embroidery, more specifically a coat of arms of his dynasty, for Diaz, despite opening his heart a bit, was still in a chaotic state of mind, afraid that he would forget everything one day.
So while his memory was still fresh, he wanted to make something to remember everything he held dear: his family, his history, his country, his household and his people, to him his coat of arms was the concrete form of all of this.
It took a year for it to finally look like what he desired, a shield with a cross surrounded by stars, with a crown above it and leafs below it. A coat of arms never seen before by Matilda.
The boy then made a small satchel from the embroidery he made, curiously he afterwards never put anything inside.
When the nanny questioned the young boy about the coat of arms he said:
“I saw it in a long dream that I hope I will see again”.
The nanny then asked about what he would put inside his small satchel, which to this he said:
“Nothing, for what I wanted was the sands I saw on a beach inside that long dream, and you can't grab dreams.”

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!

An old man's new world
An old man on his deathbed has many regrets, but the one thing he regrets the most is not fulfilling his sense of adventure. What would he do if given a new change? I always try to make the characters as realistic as possible by giving them lives of their own and motivations for doing different actions, but because I'm a new author, I might miss a few things, so please, feel free to tell me if something feels fake or unrealistic. I also write as a hobby, and my motivation tends to go up and down. If I'm not feeling motivated, I won't force myself to write. This means that the upload schedule might have abrupt gaps and sudden spurts.

Monstrous
A man wakes up in a world entirely unlike his own. One where the wildlife has taken a decidedly weirder evolutionairy path than he is accustomed to. Stumbling through his first moments in this monster filled world, he quickly comes to one conclusion: Something is very wrong with this situation. === The less pretentious version: The main character wakes up a monster, in a monstrous world where magical creatures roam the land killing and eating each other to increase their strength. Humans survive in this world by capturing and taming these creatures, using their magic for their own ends. Basically, he wakes up a pokemon. A very, very, weak, pokemon.
