《Ex-mob boss in another world》Antonios past part 2

Inside the mansion there were two curved stairs leading to the second floor, the mansion had checkered marble floors and the second floor lead to a hallway full of doors.

Francesco and Luca gave Flavio's medical team Michaelangelo to carry upstairs to their treatment room. The medical team went up the right staircase while me Luca and Francesco took the left.

Please be okay, please be okay, those words cycled in my mind nonstop, I couldn’t help but worry for someone who I’ve known for so long who’s been mortally wounded and may or may not make it through to tomorrow.

We followed the medical team down the corridor until they stopped and rushed into the operating room, I tried to go in but one of the doctored stopped.

“No one except for doctor's and the boss are allowed in, sorry about that.”

I understood why, and so I backed off as I watched one of the doctor's shut the door. Me, Francesco and Luca we’re forced to wait outside unknowing to what was happening in that room. We were forced to wait here nervously waiting for a positive result, minutes felt like hours, and hours felt like days.

Francesco and Luca both put a hand on each of my shoulders and said: “it’s gonna be alright, Michaelangelo won’t die from getting hit by some stray bullet.”

That’s right! Michaelangelo is tough as nails! No way he’d die like this!..............if only I really was that optimistic, even with them reconfirming it I still couldn’t stop thinking about the worst that could happen.

“Let’s go outside for some fresh air, why don't we?” Suggested Luco.

“Hmm, that’s fine.”

We walk back to the mansion entrance, we planned on coming back maybe an hour or two later or however long it takes for a bullet to be removed from a human body.

Once we opened the large wooden double doors what could be seen were the monsters grouping up in front. One of the monsters in front walked up and asked.

“It Michaelangelo Alright?”

He said that as he took his hat off and covered the area of his chest where his heart would be. Soon after all the other mobsters did the same.

I gave him a smile and said: “yeah, he’s gonna be alright.” I hated lying to them and I hated lying to myself.

“Ah! Thank goodness.”

The monsters all were relieved that Michaelangelo was going to be “okay” even though the chances of him being okay were very slim. We have no clue when he got shot but it seems like he’d been shot for quite a while ago since he looked so pale……..so maybe at the bar?

The monsters all being told that Michaelangelo was going to be okay all dispersed and went back in their daily life.

I asked Luco and Francesco If we could go back to the bar.

“I don’t think it’s safe to go there anymore.” Said Luco.

“But how are we gonna find out where and when Michaelangelo got shot?”

“We’ll do it later once we deal with the enemy family.”

“How about we bring a couple more guys with us?”

“Hmm, that should be fine.”

Then Francesco interjected.

“Well then, I guess it’s settled. We will ask some guys near the front gate entrance.”

We walked to the front gate entrance and Francesco gave some guys the details, they agreed to come along even though it may have been taken over by the enemy family.

We open the gate and there were multiple vehicles parked outside. We had about ten men and each vehicle should be able to hold four men. And so we took two four-man vehicles and one two-man vehicle. We told the other guys where it all started and we started to drive there.

I hit the gas and I moved out first, the other vehicles should be there right after us. This time with no armed men chasing us I obeyed traffic laws, stopping at every stoplight.

I take a turn and driver down the street, to the left was the bar completely abandoned, the large glass window in front was completely shattered and the door was left open.

We entered the bar and every step we took you would hear the sound of crushing glass. I looked to where the three suited men I shot would be but they weren’t there. They must’ve been picked up.

I look over to the flipped table Luca used as a shield and saw a bullet hole, the area where there was a bullet hole was the area that Michaelangelo had his back on……..

“Well we came here to see it and now we've seen it, time to go back.”

We only needed to see where he got shot so no need to go investigating. To be honest, I don't even care about the men that put Michaelangelo in that state, nor will I ever know, so I didn't have any intentions of revenge.

As I walk towards the front door I hear my name being called out behind me, it was one of the men that came with us and he held up something shiny in his hand as he stood in the exact spot of the armed men were standing. He then said: “You oughta have a look at this.”

I look back and he throws me the shiny object in his hand, I catch it with my right hand, I bring it close to my eyes and what the shiny object turned out to be was a family crest, some families would have their men wear crests like these, it meant displaying their pride and loyalty to the family but in situations like this where it drops and they leave it, it could be viewed as quite the burden.

“What family is it from?”

“Bambino’s.”

I close my hand with the crest in it squeezing tightly, now that I’ve found the people who’ve done this, different emotions stirred up inside me, hatred, anger, despair, and all these emotions in the end developed into a grudge.

“They won’t get away,” I say to everyone present.

“The Bambino’s have not only trespassed in foreign territory but have also wounded a member of another family, we will not tolerate this! This means war men!”

This little speech given by Luca pumped everyone up, they held up their guns in the air saying “let’s get them suns a bitches!” And “they ain’t gonna get away!” At this point, with everyone on board with a war the only thing needed to seal the deal was the approval of the boss.

“Let’s get back boys!”

All the monsters jogged out of the bar and leaped into their vehicles.

Me Luca and Francesco soon followed suit.

Hopefully, Michaelangelo is fine.

We get in the vehicle and drive back to the mansion.

We finally arrived at the mansion the three of us go in and walk up the curved stairs on the right, as we walk down the corridor I could see Flavio, sitting on a couch right next to the door.

We walked closer to him and when he noticed that we were here he stood up and faced us.

I handed Luca the Bambino family crest as we decided beforehand on the drive to the mansion that Luca was going to be the one to ask Flavio permission to go to war, of course, it would be him since he’s been working for Flavio for a long time and has established himself at the top.

Luca held the crest with his thumb, index, and middle fingers. He held the crest from the top and bottom in a way where the surface of the crest was facing forward.

“Men from the Bambino family were the cause of this, they trespassed onto our territory and they’ve wounded one of our men, I request that we put a stop to this by winning a war against them.”

“Hmm.”

It took Flavio a bit to think about it, but then he let out a sigh.

“So be it, I’ll send my messenger to the other areas I control, you men should alert everyone outside.”

“Yes, sir!”

“I also have something to say to you all……..regarding Michaelangelo.”

“What!?!? Is he okay!?!?!?”

Flavio took off his hat and put it over his heart.

“He didn’t make it, my medical team did all they could but the bullet had been lodged in him for quite a while.”

I made fists as I held in my tears, Flavio put back his hat and put a hand on my and Francesco’s shoulder as he said “He was a great man, a man who could’ve gone far, a man that will be remembered for his personality and triumphs throughout life, and remembered as a great friend.”

I appreciate all the kind words Michaelangelo was being showered with but in the end, I couldn’t pay attention to a single word he said, all of what filled my head was vengeance and violence.

“The war will officially start after we’ve given Michaelangelo a proper burial.”

Still vengeance clouded my mind, I wanted payback, I wanted to end the Bambino family for what they’ve done to Michelangelo, it may be foolish as well as selfish and even Michaelangelo himself might not want me to go through with this but I don’t care anymore, even if it takes me my life as long as the Bambino family have been wiped off the map It’ll all be worth it in the end.

“Now I have my own matters to attend to, I’m truly sorry for your loss Antonio, Francesco, well I’m off.”

Flavio walked to the large double doors and left. From the large window on top of the large wooden double doors, you could see the plump Flavio enter a two-man car. Since he was the boss, of course, he’d always have other things to attend to but he used what little time he had to look after Michaelangelo and agree on our requests, no wonder such a man had so much respect from those around him and from those who worked for him.

Not long after Flavio's depart, we exited the mansion and into the gardens that surrounded it.

“We’re going to war right, Antonio!”

“What how’d you know!?!?”

And then all yeh monsters smiled.

“Us mobsters always know!”

“But seriously how do you guys know?”

The mobster walked close to me and whispered.

“There are small holes in each room where we can drop in whenever we want, just don’t tell the boss alright.”

And the other mobsters started laughing.

This is my first gang war, and I think I’m up for it, I ain’t gonna back down, never, even if it’s the only thing I can do.

“So the funerals gonna be at st. June’s cemetery?”

“Yeah.”

St. June’s cemetery was one of the few cemeteries in the city, this cemetery was also something that Flavio had control over, and to top it off most mobsters of the Angelo family are all buried at st. June’s, The obvious answer was that place.

“We’ll be there right boys!”

“Yep!!!”

“Wouldn’t miss it!!!”

“Of course!!!”

“You guys…”

Everyone from the outside all have difference preconceptions about mobsters, they think that they’re violent, cruel, evil, and overall a bunch of no good human troublemakers, but if they were to see this sight of community and friendship then their opinions would definitely be altered. Mobsters are still people.

So with some time to spare Me, Luca, and Francesco stayed outside in the garden surrounding the Angelo family headquarters hanging out with everyone waiting until the time came for them to pick up their guns and pull the trigger.
