《Re:elemental The Greatest Spark [Hiatus]》Chapter 3) First Fairies now this?

My first day here and I've already killed my helper, hell I haven't even been here for 10 minutes and I've already fucked up.
I can't keep staring at this mush so I decided to try storing it in my inventory, surprisingly the soldering piece of meat vanishes from sight, I probably shouldn't mention this to anyone...
Having learnt my lesson I decided to experiment a bit more cautiously from now on, my main method of moving had not been what I expected, having been born with no feeling of legs it came down to Levitate to propel myself in any given direction, I had a full range of motion and after a few minutes of training I found I could go up / down, 360 degrees and diagonal, or a mix of both.
Additionally moving seems to bring along the core so I figure it must be attached to my body as of right now, I feel so naked having my jewel on display but it must be something unique to this world, perhaps when I find a fellow human I can discuss the whole "gem" business.
The local surroundings having been wiped clear gave me plenty of room to get used to this new form of movement and with it came the perfect testing grounds to experiment with, having already made one mistake I'll leave I decided to test something less lethal which only left me with my other spell Absorb, a rather vague spell yet I could see the potential in it, having a lack of targets I decided to try it on a nearby burning tree.
Unlike Flame Spray instead of drawing forth mana and then expelling it I found that Absorb worked in the opposite way, I had to draw my mana towards the target, envelop it and then I could drain it, although ineffective I found through testing that the closer I am the faster I absorb, through a curious accident I made a little breakthrough, it appears that magic is far more flexible than I had initially though, through mental imaging I managed to change the original spell so that instead of a thin link of mana it was now a chain link spear (think scorpion "get over here")
This tiny change in approach changed the entire way that Absorb worked, with a physical image the connection was far stronger allowing me to absorb faster and more, it also physically embedded itself into the truck leaving a very real wound were it once was.
Additionally I can summon an almost limitless amount of these spears but unfortunately the cost doubles for each spear, controlling 10 spears costs me 50 mana a second, while I believe I have a huge capacity of mana I could easily blow it in a fight if I'm not careful which will limiting myself to only 2 spears at this time, fortunately I can control each spear independently.
Unfortunately I am currently only able to do complex movement with one spear, adding another reduces the complex pattern on both, at max I can control 10 spears, this however reduces their movement from graceful twirls and cartwheels to simple spreading out and jabbing at their target.

Furthermore when at this limit it gives me a migraine, each movement adds another needle to the mix.
So far I have spent 2 hours in this world and all I had to show for my great effort was a charred fairy, with a sigh I gazed towards the distant sky, contemplating on what I should do next, I mean normally the hot babe would immediately would discover the pitiful hero and join them by giving directions but I think that's now impossible since I just killed her.
I remained silent for a few minutes, letting the natural sound the sound of nature take over, birds chirping, animals howling, the clash of steel and cries of blood, squirrels foraging for their nuts...
Hang on clash of steel and cries of blood?
Perhaps a fair maiden is in trouble and needs my help? maybe I can redeem myself! my blood boiled, anticipation of meeting both civilisation and a fair maiden was too alluring to consider the other facts.
I floated as fast as I could towards the sound, it grew louder and louder with more and more cries of steel and blood added to the mix.
Soon a clearing opened up in the tree line the vast forest parting to reveal what should have been a wide clearing for an open road that was far from lonely, on one side of the road stood a small mountain of small corpses, on top of said mountain was 20 knights, followed by 12 less armoured folk, some with bow and arrow while others had staff's each glowing different colours.
On the other side however was beyond belief, as if a small lake of over a thousand little green men shuffled, only a few feet tall yet wielding crudely designed weapons and clothing, some even forgoing clothing altogether, in the mix of the army was a spread out groups of what appeared to be portable beer barrels?
Seemingly dumbfounded I realised that I had stumbled upon a battlefield.
The army of green men was constantly moving, without any coordination each and everyone of them shoved themselves trying to get to their prize of human kebab.
Feeling like it was a perfect time to test Identify again I targeted one of the few with a barrel strapped to his back
Name: Goblin KegmasterLevel: 12DescriptionGoblins once used to be a civilised race, their technology rivalling even dwarfs, through high reproduction and careful breeding each generation was vastly becoming uncontrollably strong, so much so was their potential that they even began to rival even the mighty dragons, unfortunately with the invention of alcohol their once proud race has regressed back to that of simple savages.
The Kegmaster is a semi-leader in the leaderless goblin hordes, able to enthral large number of Goblins with 99% alcohol, they are the evolved form of simple goblins.

Looking over towards the struggling human's one man stands out, while his fellow knights are wearing full medieval armour from head to toe this knight has elected to reduce his leg armour to a....kilt? he swings a claymore decapitating two goblins for every swing, even from here I can hear him yelling profanity at everyone
Name: WallaceLevel: ???Description???
That's odd, perhaps even familiar but right now I'm in a really dangerous spot, both sides are unrelenting but its only a matter of time before the knights die, when they die they're bound to find me, I'd rather not die to a goblin so soon, especially to a goblin.
Feeling the resolve to give my aid I gathered my mana into firing a Fireball, through testing I had a fairly decent range but the further it travelled the less power it would have in the explosion that followed, I hadn't gotten the hang of it but I gathered what I felt was 200 mana into a shot.
My plan was simple, overkill the generals and the mass of goblins will surely flee into panic, even if they decide to keep on fighting the Kegmasters can no longer provide them their buffs, without support the knights will surely be able to win, hell they might even give me a hero's welcome if I do a good enough job.
I launched my Fireball at my target, one of the Kegmasters whom was further away but commanded a large portion of goblins.
Watching gleefully as I enacted my plan, I readied another Fireball to start the onslaught
*BOOOOOOOOM* The earth shook where once the Kegmaster was standing, my prepared Fireball falling to nothingness as I lost concentration on it as I watched in both awe and horror at what had happened, the once endless horde was only a fraction of it size now having lost one third of its army, nothing remained at the epicentre, my original target the Kegmaster and a third of the goblins instantly decimated, those unlucky enough to not die instantly were writhing on the ground as they were consumed by fire.

The previous sound of battle was nowhere to be found and the once formidable goblin horde was down 400 or so men.
The goblins aware of this new threat remained in silence their once savage behaviour vacant, they hadn't noticed me attacking and even under both enthral and enrage it wasn't enough to quell the fear that was struck into their very core, their previous blood-lust was replaced with fear.
It started with one followed by two then four until a wave of panicked goblins started swarming away, some of them tried to rally their horde again but were quickly pushed over and quickly made into mush, they scattered into all direction.
Suddenly I was snapped away from the horde to a lone goblins shout.
"Shiny object me bring home ", its eyes had a glint of desire then suddenly the clumsily moving goblin broke into a frivolous charge towards me.
I had a hundred options to take and yet, as if a cold dagger was traced along my back I froze I had never been in immediate danger and despite my new found power I had no experience in life or death situation (my death doesn't count), its carefree charge took me by surprise I hadn't expected it to be so swift, quickly closing the distance between me and it before I could even call up a spell the goblin had already brought his crude mace up to prepare to hit me, preparing for the worst I turned away expecting a quick death.
A sudden sharp pain, vision shaking and mind reeling in shock, I waited for the next blow expecting my end but it never came?
I turned to see what had happened to it to discovered it had burnt its entire face off, only charred bone remained of its once ugly face and a stump was all that was left of the arm that swung the club, how I asked myself?
I hadn't activated anything, taking a second I checked my health, from that one blow I had lost 50 health but nothing else was amiss, I even gained a new passive...

Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. I am working on it every day, so understanding would be greatly appreciated. The new cover art is a courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge
