《A Generic Dungeon Core Story》Notice 2... I'm Back!... Kinda
Advertisement
Hello again... I am back after a long hiatus... there's basically only 3 days left before i go do the final test that will decide my fate. I should be able to do well in it considering how much i studied, technically i only need to manage to graduate since the medical school which i wanted to go to already accepted me because of my grades already.
Anyways, I'm just making this notice to tell you fine folks that I will be coming back in a week or 2 at most though that does raise the question of... what I'm coming back to. I've given "Another Generic Dungeon Core Story" another read through and I found... a lot of issues.
The most critical one i can think of comes when i was still writing the story... I grew to hate writing about the LITRPG sections about stats and such... they fucking suck for me and though i didn't know it at the time, I recently went back and confirmed that i much prefer a story without any LITRPG or gamelit elements.
There's also so many other problems as well most notably to me is the fact that i don't know who any of the characters were before the event of the story. Tier may as well be a generic nameless human in his past since i never fleshed him out that much and Aenirus is... I don't even know where she was born and don't get me started on the Adventurers...
So sad to say is the fact that I'm dropping this story for now... If i ever come back to it then it's through a rewrite which i will do when i have a better grasp at who the characters are and what i actually want and like to write...

This doesn't mean that I'm going to stop writing though, far from it I have a couple of story that are through the planning phase that i wish to post both here in Royalroad and in Scribblehub in the near future though I'm going to have to focus on them one at a time.
Anyways I ran into another major hurdle in this aspect that is... I have so many fucking ideas that i don't know which to pick which is a big problem as you can guess. This is where you fine folks will come in! I'll let you guys choose which story i'm going to be writing when i get back to writing once the finals are finished.
As of right now only 2 of them are in a state that i deem fit enough for me to even attempt to write and even then I only half-finished the worldbuilding on either of these 2 but i know who the characters are, what their end goals will be and I even managed to write a couple chapters of each that i know that I'm going to be able to have fun in writing them.
The 2 stories are as follows:
1. Life Through Draconic Eyes:
An isekai fantasy story set in the same setting as AGDCS though with a lot of changes to the world. The story will take place in the 15-18th century Northern Europe of this world and the main theme being that of a coming-of-age type of story. The main character is of course reincarnated in this new world with the catch being that he was not born as a human... in either of her lives...
2. Drifter's Wanderlust:
A post-apocalyptic semi-shounen styled sci-fantasy setting based around South-East Asia and Oceania. The story is a wandering adventure style story following the MC is she drifts around the land thanks to her wanderlust. The story is simple based around a 5-man band with realistic combat mixed together with supernatural Techniques based from anime to add a bit of flair...

So those are the very quick synopsis (I'll make better ones later) of the 2 stories I'm planning to write in the near future, i have others stories in mind but all of those will require more time to get into shape so these 2 will be the first ones that i'll be pushing out of the assembly line.
Either way, i look forward to being back in a week, it would feel good to start writing a lot again after a long hiatus. Either way stay safe folks and thanks for reading my stuff, hope to see you all in the near future.

NEWDIE STEADSLAW Part I
NEWDIE STEADSLAW is a randomized array of Chekhov's red herrings, non sequitors ex machina, run-on sentences, and em dashes—so many em dashes. It's like if the Bible and Shakespeare had a baby that they surrendered to foster care, then it got adopted by Alice in Wonderland and Dr. Seuss—the books, not the people—and then the baby fell down the stairs. In this metaphor, the stairs wrote the story. Part I is the tale of the adventures of Traycup and Roby as they try to hold down a job inside the hollow Earth—a place made possible thanks to the secret science of embargoed relativity—and they get distracted by dancing foxes, a giant's record collection, and something with a train, I think. It's a work of fiction—although to call it work seems insulting to, y'know, actual work—but the fiction label is apt, so, y'know, that's a win. Half the words are made up, and the other half are embarrassed to be seen with them. Part I is complete.
