《The Power of Boredom Is Limitless》(Chapter 1) Prelude to Chaos in the Worlds of Magic

Staring at the bloodied air Ian sighed. He did not have a choice in the matter of killing those peasants, as a matter of fact it was rather inconvenient as he lost a chance to collect information on this world.
But there was one issue Ian had to avoid at all cost. And that was making the gods of this reality aware of his presence. Of course, these gods could do absolutely nothing to Ian himself. But as dogs they were, would try interfere with his "projects" to help cure his boredom to no means of an end.
Of course, Ian could have changed the peasant's memories or just let them be, but this would alarm the gods. As a god himself Ian knew what they were and were not sensitive to, death of insignificant beings was not one of them.
But souls and prayers were another matter, adjusting the memories, behavior, or characteristics of souls suddenly would leave what you could say a scratch. Gods were sensitive to these scratches at they would make the souls behave oddly their respective circles of reincarnation. And praying to a god over an angel "descending" into their town is basically like setting off a nuke with the words "Invading god here" in the mushroom cloud
As such Ian did the only thing he could do, slaughter the poor bastards and change his appearance as soon as possible. Such was the dilemma Ian was enduring, not the insignificant act killing of peasants but the more crucial "appearance". Ian thought for the next 5 minutes on this matter until the first idea that seemed fun popped into his churning mind.
An old man, not any old man but the kind that would send heroes off on quests and give legendary items to said heroes. This was not implying Ian was going to be making any "heroes" of course

_____________________________________________________________________________________
On a dusty road mid-day appeared a wise looking old man, this man seemed to be seeking something but his gaze was off putting. It was like he was seeking prey
This old man was indeed Ian who after days of walking was beginning to feel boredom creep up on him, as such he was desperate to start a "project". This place had the usual magic world cliché of human's vs demons and so forth, but Ian decided to add a twist to make the humans lives a little darker and the demons friendlier.
In Ian's hands lied a sword, a gorgeous silver blade with red veins flowing throughout. This blade was obviously very powerful but with one little flaw. It needed blood, not of its enemies but of the same race as the user, which needed to be freshly killed by the user to count. The closer the sacrifice is emotionally to the user the greater the power imparted.
Soon Ian reached a city which by some coincidence was the capital of this country, although in this Ian's mind there was no such thing as coincidence in these matters. He already knew the landscape of this world when he first entered, it was only the states of politics, war, and phycology of this world he lied ignorant to.
As the gates of the city grew closer and soon passed over head Ian watched as others were stopped and forced to give a fee before entering. As for Ian the weak guards did not even register his existence as he passed under their noses
Ian's target in this city was not the adventures guild, nor an inn unlike those "summoned" heroes that seem so popular in these worlds. What he was watching with his predatorial gaze was the path to the imperial castle. Which he treaded upon with no hesitation, rather he walked at a rushed pace wanting to get to the throne room as soon as possible.

Passing all the guards and doors with ease, the god known as Ian approached the throne which upon it sat an unusually young man. Slowing his pace Ian stopped before the imposing throne and allowed himself to be seen by young king.
The king's reaction was to be expected, he immediately called for the guards and pulled his sword at Ian.
The king shouted "State your name old man!" His voice cracking mid shout which practically screamed he was still in puberty
Ian stifling a laugh said in a luxurious manner while surrounded by the guard's spears: "My dear king, I a humble old man discovered an artifact that could benefit humanity in its war against the wretched demons"
The young king's eyes flashed with greed: "An artifact? Show me this artifact and I will believe you"
Ian then kneeled and pulled the silver red veined blade from his robes, mannerly presenting it to the young king. "He will take the blade regardless of its requirements" thought Ian as he saw the king's expression that held all too much greed
The king descended from the throne and rudely took the blade from the Ian's hand
"How does it work" the king immediately demanded
Ian smiled an odd smile as he kindly explained the blades function and requirement, his smile getting odder as he continued.
Smiling lightly the King said "So that’s how it works huh" and proceeded to stab Ian through the head
"Thank you for helping humanity" The king said smilingly "But I'm afraid if you leave you will tell the demon king's army, as such I will allow you to die a quick death"
As the sword was pulled out of Ian's head which still held that odd smile, "This marks the beginning of my first project" This thought appeared in Ian's head.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.

This is a writing exercise so chapters are mostly first drafts, otherwise I'd end up rewriting each chapter for a month or more with no real changes. My goals are a steady output by not using perfectionism as a procrastination method. I've already got laziness and additions to reading/games, I don't need a 3rd reason to procrastinate.][Disclaimer 2: The main character is a more normalized version of me, with 170% less laziness installed, and a few buffs like greater courage. Other things like having a job are partially similar. No other characters are based on real people because most people I know are either too normal to be useful or too fucked in the head to be believable.]
