Chapter 11:

Mana flowed through the ground, shaping my mask. It was similar to the hockey mask Jason from Luke's memories wore. Satisfied with my crude rock mask, I placed it on my face before turning to Leon and nodding my head, signaling that I'm ready.

We set off, Leon in the lead, with me following closely behind. On the way, I created needles made out of stone. The needles were created to look similar to acupuncture needles. Stone Needle is the name for the skill. While I was thinking about Leon's past, I thought up a new attack idea. I plan on linking my soul to the needles, before throwing them at the enemy. When they hit the enemy, my soul will continuously siphon their soul.

Never tried out before, this idea was risky, but worth a shot. The reason I thought up this method to attack their soul from a distance instead of just using my Soul Sense is because the needles deal physical damage to the enemy as well as using less mana than Soul Sense. Even though it also has a long reach, it is much weaker than Soul Sense. Having multiple needles on a person increases the absorbing speed.

Taking my head out of my cloud of thoughts, I focused my attention on Leon as we crisscrossed and sneaked through the forest.

Leon Ferrell's POV

I keep walking forward, ignoring the fool behind me. Thinking I believe his blatant lies, how naive of him. I narrow my eyes as I twiddle my thumbs. After killing the members of the NS, I will assassinate him, so that my secrets won't spread. Alerting the NS will be disastrous and keeping a potential threat like him around is not optimal. My thoughts wander back to the time when I first met him.

At first, I was indeed running away from the Griffons, but it wasn't my fault, they were level 14's. When I first arrived in this floor, I started inspecting my general surroundings, but I accidently strode into the griffons territory. Alerting them, I immediately ran away, but to my dismay, they followed me.

I ran for about 10 minutes before I noticed a wood hut in the distance. It was half complete with holes everywhere, but it was sufficient to hide in.

Nearby to the house was the corpse, which I identified to be a Level 2 Minor Enhanced Lion. It was the weakest lion species in the dungeon (above Level 0). When they finish maturing, they reach level 6. but it seems this Lion was still a cub. They genes and cells of the lion were enhanced by mana, which resulted in the lions growing stronger and bigger. The cub seemed to be on the verge of maturing.

Turning my head to face the hut, I quickly dash towards it. When I reach the hut I slide into it, hiding in it. The griffons come crashing through the bushes, searching for me. One of the griffons eyes land on lion cubs body and light up in excitement. It started roaring, informing the other griffons of the corpse. They went up to the corpse and start devouring it.

While I was staring at the griffons, I felt a movement in the air. I turned around to see a person. I use Inspect on him.

Arjun Hunter Level: 2

When he woke up, he noticed me and almost screamed, but I hushed him. The griffons left after 10 minutes and both me and Arjun started talking. After I finished talking to him, I separated from him and started to build my house quite a distance away from his. Building it out of thatch for convenience, I finished the house after 3 hours. I then started to explore my surroundings while mapping it down on a paper I brought. Finishing off the map, I started marking routes and pathways which I can use to escape dangerous situations on the map.

Since I had no food, I went towards Arjun's direction to ask him for some. I did this for other reasons as well, such as: leaving a good impression on him so that he doesn't suspect me, gathering information and also so that I can observe him.

Luckily my plead worked out and I got some food from him. Once I finished my food, I returned home and feel asleep. Waking up in the morning, I set off in search of NS members. I know for a fact there are NS members in the first floor as I saw some entering my town. They all have a tattoo on their body which is basically Ouroboros circling around the letters N and S. Although it is possible for people to copy their tattoo, I obtained a badge from one of the dead members of the NS that my father killed in the war. All NS members have the badge, and it can see if there are other members nearby and can verify if the tattoos are real. The tattoos have a special power imbedded into them allowing for the search of members and verification of tattoos. I used this badge to check if they are members by sending mana into the badge, and it turns out they were.

It took me a while to located the NS members. I didn't forget to monitor Arjun by having meals with him. A reward for "monitoring" Arjun is that I can enjoy his amazing food.

Gathering up my power and weapons, I launch a sneak attack on the NS members the next day, not knowing of the presence of Arjun. My sneak attack was going well as I had the upper hand over the NS. They were guarding and were losing more ground each exchange. I take out my weapon, it is an extremely strong sword. Charging them, I attack with my sword. Although it might be really strong, It uses a lot of my mana to use it as I'm too low level.

Exhausting a lot of mana using my sword, my sneak attack fails because of Arjun, who interferes at the last moment. We both fight but I lose because of my mana exhaustion.

I wake up to find Arjun threatening me to spill my secrets.

Even though I don't want to tell him, I reluctantly do, because I could never complete my revenge if I die. Noticing the gleam in Arjun's eye, I can tell he doesn't fully believe me. He then proceeds to propose to help me in my revenge. Even though I answered yes, he's stupid if he thinks I believe him.

I plan on using this fool to help me get rid of the NS before killing him so that he can't spread my secret around.

Searching around for the NS took less effort this time as they are nearby, but they hid better because they had their guards up. After a few hours, I located them. Although they are on guard, they can't escape to far from the previous area. Getting my items, I search for Arjun, only to find this idiot peeing his pants in front of some Hornets. I save him and he thanks me sincerely. Proceeding along my plan, I ask him to help me to which he gives me some conditions. After pondering on the topic, I agree to his terms before telling him to change.

Now here I am, leading the fool towards the enemy. I curse at him under my breath as I know the NS headquarters was notified by their members about the previous attack and that the group from before will also be on more guard.

After a while, I reach the cave the NS members are resting in. I shush Arjun and slowly creep inside with him.

Author's note: Sorry this chapter took a while, kind of got stuck. I'm also really tired from the moving and got lazy because of it. I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. This chapters a little short and could have been longer, but I felt this was a good place to leave it off at. Sorry Leon's POV is not to descriptive, tell me if you guys want it more descriptive.
