《Shit Hit's the Fan RPG Style (Rewrite》chapter 6 Pet shop

I woke up a few hours later and started my routine back up; I went around the district clearing out all of the respawned monsters while scavenging for supplies. In truth I have a lot of food and water that will last me for a while however I don’t know if I will join a group or not so it’s better to stock up on supplies. As I was heading back to the warehouse for lunch I passed by the lake to see my old group trying to cross the lake which was a completely bad idea, parasites are the least you need to worry about when in the water. When the group got half way a giant claw snapped the boat like a twig followed by the parasites having a free dinner, I have a small prayer for them and moved on hoping to forget about this before tonight.
I walked into the warehouse only to find most of my stuff searched through and some guys lazing around, a wave of blood produced by these men hit my nose and I could tell they haven’t killed bugs instead they killed people. Once the group noticed me the just smiled then approached with their weapons in hand, simple tools such as hammers and one machete while the leader of the group had a gun on hand.
“You have a nice set up going here and it looks like the bugs don’t like coming over here.” (Leader)
“Ya I have been clearing them out enough that they have learned not to come over here.” (Me)
“You even have a fresh source of water right behind the warehouse I’m jealous, how about we share you keep your life and we keep this building.” (Leader)
“So you’ve tried the water have you?” (Me)
“Ya so.” (Leader)
“I see well let me gather a few things for the road and I’ll be going, basically I just need my tent if one of you will get it for me then I’ll be on my way.” (Me)
“Glad you could see reason.” (leader)
One of the guy’s minions walked over to my sleeping bag and tent then brought them over to me, I grabbed it and nodded to them before leaving. Damn fools really didn’t pay attention to the bodies surrounding this place, if you don’t notice the human bodies you’ll see the different insects that are scattered around the bank. A few minutes later I could hear the screams of the men in the distance, the parasites have a two hour incubation period and after that is over they start their all you can eat buffet which is generally a creatures insides. Sooner or later though I should take care of them and anything else in the lake, as I was walking down the road my thoughts were interrupted by a notification.

you are the first and only human that has escaped the have, title gained: sole survivor
you walk alone and you die alone however that doesn't mean you are a weakling
*2x Exp Boost
*System facilities are added to your map
As the notification disappeared my map started to blink and showed some new locations, one was right beside me even. I followed the map towards the question mark on my map and was led to an abandoned pet shop, when I walked inside I saw an old man feeding some caged animals. The animals were huge and resembled dogs but with scales and horns on their head, after the old man was finished feeding the animals he turned to me and gave a warm smile.
“Welcome to my humble shop, we sell pets to travelers for the right price. Be warned though the pets we sell are living creatures and as such have a will of their own so if you miss treat them they will turn on you.” (Old Man)
“Don’t worry I won’t miss treat them but I also won’t know how to take care of them either.” (Me)
“Ah yes we do have that problem as well, no matter if you buy a creature we will give you the basic information to take care of them.” (Old Man)
“Thank you for your generosity.” (Me)
“Oh a youth with respect that’s something you don’t see every day.” (Old Man)
your relationship with mystery pet shop has improved
So there were things like this too, best not make these shop keepers angry unless I want to gather my goods from scavenging for the rest of my life. The old man went behind the desk and a page popped up in front of me listing all the different pets I could buy and their prices, the best part about it is that it says I can trade different items for pets as well. I continued through the list until I found one that caught my eye, when I pressed it a description appeared in front of me.
Fairy guide (???)
this creature is of the fairy race unlike it's kin it spends it's life with another as a guide and will never betray them, it can evolve depending on how it's partner treats it, this fairy guide has a unknown bloodline

Once I read the description I walked over the desk then told the old man the name which surprised the old man. At first he tried to persuade me to pick a different pet but when I refused he started to laugh and drew a bigger smile than before.
pet shop relationship has increased greatly
“Kid that creature is a real pain on this old man, I have tried to sell it for years and no one wants a pet that can’t attack another. Since you have decided this I will sell it to you for 27 gold pieces.” (Old Man)
“About that I wanted to trade a few items with you since I am limited on money.” (Me)
“Oh what kind of items?” (Old Man)
“I have a tranquilizer and about fifty rounds for it along with scent remover.” (Me)
I placed the items on the table and the old man inspected them, he nodded his head then turned towards one of the caged animals and fired a tranquilizer at it. The dart imbedded into the creature’s leather like skin and it started to make weird noises before falling to the ground but it still moved its head like it was some sort of bobble head. the old man turned back then put down the rifle and picked up the scent remover but this time he didn’t spray it but instead just set it back down then turned to me.
“These items are really good and will help me with my job also you gave a steady supply of the darts as such you can take the fairy along with the beastology book I have.” (Old Man)
“Thank you for being so kind!” (Me)
purchase successful, please take your items
When the message disappeared a book appeared in front of me along with a bird cage with a small figure inside, it was a finger length tall dressed in a silk like dress. The fairy stared at me with its curious blue eyes but it didn’t say anything it just floated there expecting me to say something, instead I undid the lock on the cage door which made the old man sweat a bit. The fairy noticed this and left the cage before sitting on my shoulder she acted like it was natural for her and I didn’t say anything about it instead I thanked the old man then left.
you are the first person that has visited a system related store, Shop now available
this option is open for all players and will be unlocked once you enter a shop run by the system, this option has it's flaws and benefits like it will cost more and has a limited selection but since you are the first you have a 50% discount
The message disappeared and I went back to the road, the fairy looked around checking out each of the ruined buildings that we passed. You know I think I should join a group soon since it will only get harder from here on out, the question is should I create a group or should I just join one?
“Why did you buy me?” (Fairy)
“Oh so you do speak, well anyway that’s a very personal question but my best reason is that I need a guide.” (Me)
“But I don’t know this place.” (Fairy)
“I’m not talking about that kind of guide, think of it as me wanting a companion to guide me when things get bad.” (Me)
“I don’t get it.” (Fairy)
“Hahaha ya it’s kind of hard to explain but you will understand the answer sooner or later.” (Me)
“Um can I ask why are we in a ruined city?” (Fairy)
“this was my hope until a few days ago, now it’s a home to creatures not known to us humans.” (Me)
“I see, Don’t worry I’ll make sure we avoid those bad creatures!” (Fairy)
She puffed out her small chest as she said that which made me give a small chuckle that led to her attacking me. The act was cute however very annoying when you’re trying to walk especially when she goes for your eyes.

Loremaster: A Progression Dark Fantasy
Serena had died a Celestial. One of the few who were meant to rule over the vast multiverse. Yet she was inexplicably reborn. Carrying the knowledge of her past life, she seeks to do what her kind does best... rule. Yet, the multiverse isn't what it once was. Mortals aspire to become what the celestials once were, through levels or classes or cultivation. New things that didn't and shouldn't exist. And these mortals are only the beginning of what stands in her way. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Warning: There will be times that morally suspect themes happen. While I have little to no intention of showing them (especially during a Writathon) things like abuse of all kinds (neglect, emotional, mental, spiritual, physical and sexual) can or be implied to have happened. These are played to the horrors such things are, and are treated with the seriousness and aftereffects it would cause. Progression + Cultivation + GameLit + Multiverse + Slow Build + Slow Burn + Worldbuilding + Grimbright + Multiple POVs = Insanity for all. This the first time I am seriously writing an original story. I will be Writing each book in Parts/Arcs (3-6) with mini arcs (3-6 in each arc). Each Mini-arc is 5-14 or so chapters. I like progression stories and I've always wanted to try and write one like a few of the web novels that inspired me. The Game Lit aspects will be more in the background, with focus on other details like dungeons, monsters, loot, morality, and so on. There will be focus on various kinds of progression. Updates 3-5 days a week (Usually weekdays). Chapters will be roughly 1000-2500 words and alternate wildly.

The Blight
Ten years ago, the Blight appeared. A beautiful forest, where the leaves and animals glowed brilliantly at night. It became a wonder of the entire world, and people began venturing from across the continent to visit it. No one took it any more seriously than that, not in the beginning. Then the disappearances started. At first, it was just farm animals and pets. Then, hunters and travelers close to dusk. By the time children started disappearing from villages, it was too late to do anything. The Blight was spreading, from tree to tree like a sickness, crawling out in all directions. The animals and beasts inside it changed as well. They grew larger, stronger, and more ferocious than anything seen before. Simple farm animals became horrific monsters, distorted to disgusting proportions and violently spreading chaos out from the forest. When the first reports came in of infected animals dragging people alive off into the forest... then the real panic began. Towns fell to the Blight, then cities. Armies were sent to push it back, and were overrun. Heroes and legends ventured out, to no avail. Soon, it was public knowledge to all: Those who entered the forest, never returned. ...So what happens when a young boy comes out of the forest, carrying nothing but a dagger and remembering nothing but his own name?
