《SC to MC》Chap 13: Giant Mansion and Food

After walking for 15 minutes, we reached Yuko's mansion which left me gaping no matter how many times I saw it. After Yuko completed his various security scans, we entered.
"Yesterday was an experiment to see how well an average person can adapt to an unusual body part. The experiment was successful since you were able to fly." Yuko started speaking again without any cue as usual.
"So, in short, you used me as a guinea pig?" I said in a slight angry tone.
"Well, it wasn't particularly harmful since I myself had tried it with a couple of different creatures like your Pegasus, a lizard, a dragon, many kinds of fishes and even inanimate objects."
We reached the inside of the mansion and headed to the living room first to get something to eat. By the way, Yuko sent Trichia away to play with Nazuna-chan and we were sitting here chatting, while Maria prepared the lunch.
"So why did you say it was a experiment with me?" I asked.
"As I said before, it was to see if an 'average person' can get used to it" Yuko said with a troubled look.
He was probably worried about saying "average" to me. Its fine if it is meant as a joke, but Yuko was being serious here and thus, probably worried if I would take offence. But I knew he wasn't being arrogant or condescending about it. There just wasn't a better way to put it.
"I made the entire interface, so I know how everything works. It didn't take me 5 minutes to fly after I entered the body of a Pegasus." He continued after confirming I didn't mind the 'average'.
"5 minutes!? It must've took me a couple of hours!" I almost shouted.

"7 hours and 14 minutes to be precise."
"Whoa."
"Well I hope you see my reasoning now."
"Hmm.. I guess so."
As we were chatting, Maria brought in some extravagant looking dishes which I hadn't seen before in my life. She placed some of everything in two plates and handed one to Yuko and the other to me. But I guess I'm kinda used to his lifestyle by now, so I didn't have much of a reaction.
"No reaction?" Yuko said as if he read my thoughts.
"Yeah.." I replied with a wry smile.
(He, in fact, might actually be able to read my thoughts. Its him, after all.)
"Just so you know, I can't read your thoughts."
"........"
(Yuko's a bastard. Yuko's a bastard. Yuko's a bastard. Yuko's a bastard. Yuko's a bastard. Yuko's a bastard. Yuko's a bastard. Yuko's a bastard. Yuko's a bastard. Yuko's a bastard. Yuko's a bastard. Yuko's a bastard.)
"I know you can't." I finally said with my brightest possible smile.
He gave me a weird look and started on his lunch with great manners. I tasted some rice with the weird brown gravy.
"Delicious!"
There simply weren't any other words to describe it.
"So where were we?" Yuko continued from where we left off, "Oh right, I built some stuff you can do in the virtual environment. Its much like a live action game."
"That sounds interesting. What sort of stuff do you have?"
"Hmm.. Let's see. Wanna kill some bad guys?"
"Hell yeah! No wait.. On second thoughts.. It'll hurt if they hit me right?"
"Don't worry. Even if you get hit by a bullet, the most pain you can feel is as if you were hit by toy hammer."

"Umm.. What else do you got?"
"There are many others but they're just simple activities. Like swimming, catching falling apples, flying though hoops. I didn't create an actual game but more like small simulations. Also in the 'kill the bad guys' category, you can go as a commando, taking on everyone at the same time or an assassin, using stealth and deception to take down your enemies one at a time." Yuko explained.
"There's not much choice considering you're the one who built everything." I evaluated my best friend's capabilities whom I'd known for years.
"That's obvious, since it wasn't my goal to build a game but just the interface. Well, that's nothing for you to worry about. Do you wanna play or not?"
"I guess I'll try out the assassin."
"Well then, follow me."
Yuko got up and headed to his lab.
"Wait! Let me finish this first!"
"How slow do you eat?"
"Cahn't whelp it. Itsh juft sho tashty."
"Speak after you swallow. Haah..."

Magnus
Updates daily at 23:06 UTC. 2/1/2021 NOTE! This trilogy is being published by Aethon Books starting with book one on 5/1/2021. All books have been removed from RoyalRoad. This story was posted on RR in its entirety before being removed. Magnus Cromwell kills for a living. He’s organized, professional, efficient. Like a machine. But when his family’s life is on the line? That’s something else. That calls for the kind of warm-blooded vengeance that scorches earth and summons tungsten rods from space, leaves a whole lot of melted flesh, and no one to tell the tale. It should've been a blue milk run. As by-the-book as it gets. With his sister Nina out safe and the opposition decimated by hypersonic gunfire, MC wondered where they got the guts to even try. Then something hits him. Lays him out cold, and leaves him waking up to a fantasyland with nothing but his armor and a half-written note to guide him. It's a strange place where even stranger predators eye him for their next meal. Where his life’s on a timer, and where the darkest horrors haunt his dreams, painting visions of death. There's no right day to mess with Magnus Cromwell. But the universe sure managed to pick the absolute worst one. --- - MC is stone-cold, strong(OP), and gets even stronger, but he'll still face his fair share of challenges, both internal and external. - LitRPG-lite. No stats and an unconventional system. Expect abilities and progressions, but there will only ever be a handful of them. - Science Fiction and Fantasy collide, with a touch of mystery, Lovecraft, and body horror. - Professionally painted art scenes! - This series is finished. A Huge thank you to RoyalRoader MikeWe for the banner, and to NoDragons for his help editing the synopsis. Long Island
Long Island was not the first virtual reality game or to say a VRMMORPG. Not the one which changed the world and became a legend. No, it was made when there were lots (quite a few) of virtual reality games already on the market. Each game had its own unique AI feature, its own unique adventure, promising everyone a chance to become King, if not a God. In such a time Long Island was made. Just a little different, just a little unique. Swamy was starting his own adventure, in life and in game.Note - Thanks @DameCarnelian for the cover. Just so people don't get confused, that ship is not Raka's ship :)

The Keys to the Blankspace
Ives was a normal college student who luckily found interdimensional keys that let him transport through time and space via interdimensional doors. Unluckily, he uses it one too many times and gets trapped in an alternate realm known as the blank space. This series does not contain much sci-fi, more psy-fi, and maybe a ko-fi ad. (Maybe not).
