It took hours, literally, By the time we got to the wall I was gasping and wheezing from lack of air.
"Why... hugah are you...... glah not tired out" I wheezed.
"Oh yeah your not enhanced yet" Emily said and then looked toward the gates, the last few stragglers rushing through, and the roars of titans were not to far away. "Lets go before we get ambushed by titans again" I said and just as we took a step, a titan crashed through the building in front of us, one of the casts was hanging limply from it's mouth.
Emily vauled backwards, taking out her sniper, but she was grabbed by a titan that lumbered up from behind. I took the dropped sniper in hand and fired a shot towards the head and the recoil blew me back and I collided with the wall.
I felt my conscious swimming as everything in front of me was blurry.
Emily screamed out but I couldn't move my body, I could see a huge mass walking toward me, it's hands extending.
Its over, I couldn't even survive one mission, I thought to myself. The hand picked me up, it carefully held me and then opened it's mouth.
I noticed something from the side and a person jumped into the mouth, two shields propping it open and the guy takes out a sword and starts hacking away at the hand that was holding me.
"Smitt?" I said weakly, and I felt myself drop. I momentarily blacked out for a few seconds when I collided with the ground but I felt something hit my cheek, something wet.
My vision starts to focus and I noticed the thing next to me.
It was an arm, covered in black cloth and holding a sword. I frantically looked up to see the titan swallowing and then looked at me, flashing a devilish grin.

My eyes grew wide with fear as it bent down to pick me up.
Then the grin froze and it slumped forward. Jonah there his fists embedded in the nape of the neck.
"Sweet, another 1000 points and a saved teammate." Jonah smiled and he helped me up.
"Wha....What about Smitt....... " I asked.
"His sacrifice shouldn't go to waste, lets keep you alive till the mission ends" Jonah said. His demeanor seemed strong, but it was sagging a little.
He had an unconscious Emily on his back and I saw Danny and Abigail running over to check on us.
"So you guys were alive, I'm relieved" Abigail sighed and Danny patted my back. I gave them a weak smile and lumbered over, the titan had crushed some of my bones and I felt like the insides of my body was bleeding from internal hemorrhages.
Danny and Abigail supported me as we moved forward. It looked like we would make it, the gate was just right there..
The ground started to rumble, I had a sense of impending doom
I turned my head toward the sound and rushing toward the gate, a titan in armor was rushing toward the gate.

Dear Spellbook (Rewrite)
Live. Study. Repeat. Tal never saw himself as an adventurer, but the call to adventure never much cared for his opinion. Despite his best efforts, his search for answers on the murder of his parents ever draws him into danger. Accompanied by a group of seasoned warriors, thus far Tal has gotten by on his own meager magical talents, but when one day he wakes up to find himself back in his bed of the night before, he is faced with a challenge he must conquer alone. What to expect: This story was born of an attempt to create in world lore reasons for many of the mechanics and tropes of D&D, but you do not need to know of them to enjoy the story. It's a single POV time loop story with slow paced progression fantasy elements. The story is not one of fast-paced power ups and non-stop action, but as it progresses, the action picks up. There is a lot of magic system exploration on a system built to unify the diverse magic of D&D into one cohesive magic system. The setting is an original world with familiar races and monsters but with new unique origins and motivations. The average chapter will be 2-5k words long, most being around 3k but there are a few less than 1k, due to the nature of the story telling device I used. Book 1 is complete. Posting is on hold until I finish book 2. Book 2 progress: The rough draft is done at 141656 words as of 7/9/2022. I need to reread and edit it but Im aiming for resuming chapters in September.
