《Project Felia》Volume 2 Chapter 14 - Cowhide Versus The Deciever!

After the two first fights there was an hour break, Odin, Cortez and I met up.
“Dude, you almost died! I cant believe you just did that! That was so badass!” Cortez was praising the hell out of Odin.
Odin was the only one sitting on the bench, Cortez was trying to hold in his excitement.
“How far did you get during you last tournament?” I asked him.
“I didn’t get to enter, back then there was two on two and Raul was fighting and spouting crap so the guards kicked us out before we could even start, the people outside was throwing nasty junk at us as we ran out of the city! I just got my name and that was that really.”
“How did you stick up with that guy anyway?” Odin took a noticeable breath and stood up.
“I didn’t, I just had to cope with his crap, we both did our best to survive and he wanted me to give him gold so he could get better gear to hunt, he was just talking non stop about how good he was and how dumb I were, not really great for my mentality.”
No shit, I think everyone saw you expressing that!
“Didn’t those flames hurt?”
“Everything happened so quick, it did hurt like hell, but it didn’t really feel hot, it felt, like beyond hot you know? Like it was some sort of burning cold, I don’t know, I was so adrenaline fueled at that moment I didn’t really pay that much attention to the pain I just had to keep my attack going!”
“Well it certainly worked, I give you that!”
The assassin was leaning against the wall like she was listening inn. No one noticed but me, what is she up to?
The other combations left were all chilling by themselves, mentally preparing.
“Get up warriors, you have been slacking of much already!”
The boss went out the same place as he entered, just like last time, we followed.
Cheering crowd again, who is going to fight next?
“Stand firm and wave!” We waved as we were grouped.
“Look at our fine warriors! This day have already been really exciting, what treats are we in for next? Roll the dice!” That over excited announcer again.

The big screen slowly landed on Cowhide and Deciever!
“Alright! I am ready! Time to fight! Yeah!” Cortez was overly energic, but I could see he was just trying to convince himself that he could do this.
The assassin did really make any movement as she just stood there, looking blankly out right in front of her.
“Get to your positions!” Cortez was punching in the air like he was shadow boxing, his words got less audible as he got longer away, but he was still keeping up his motivational speech and punches for himself.
“Molten and summer is out of the equation, what is the next terrain! No time to waste lets roll!”
The big screen stopped at Winter.
I could see Cortez face got sad, he is always the one freezing the most of us, poor guy.
“Get ready! 3,2,1 Fight!”
The battleground was a blizzard, dark and cold! Their gear got their cold resist on, their vision was so clouded they couldn’t see each other, there was some hills, trees and ice rivers.
What is your plan Cortez?
The assassin girl was the first to get a view of her opponent! She was running straight at him!
“So that is what your up to huh?” Cortez smirked.
“Take this!” He fired a shot that hit her directly in the head!
Wait? A clone?
The Deciever was just about to strike Cortez from behind as she was invisible, but Cortez noticed!
He turned around and kicked her backwards and she slided down the hillside. Cortez quickly drew his bow as she was rolling!
Just before he managed to shot his arrow he tripped and fell down himself because she had disabled a trap that Cortez had put up, the rope was caught around his leg, was that her plan all along?
An assassin got much more movability then an archer in a situation like this, what is he going to do?
The Deciever got back her momentum as she reached the bottom of the hill. She took a firm grip of the rope and pulled it hard as Cortez was dragged out on the open ice, he was trying to get back up, but then she was already there above him she managed to hit Cortez with one of her daggers in his right arm, but then he kicked her away.

She managed to attach the rope to one of her daggers as Cortez got up and untangled himself, but then she was gone again, not because she stealthed but the snowstorm got worse, Cortez was at a real disadvantage, but he did his best to draw his bow.
Two throwing starts hit him in his chest, not dealing a lot of damage, but it was enough for her to hit him in the leg with her rope dagger, then she dragged it out again and Cortez lost his balance and fell, the ice shattered and he fell through!
The Deciever went over there, it got quiet, only the blizzard and wind could be heard, but then a arrow got shot from under the water and up right at the Decievers face, but she grabbed it!
“What is this? How did she manage to grab that arrow!” The announcer got crazy and the audience got stunned.
What is with this sudden change of skill? The speed of that shot was so fast I couldn’t even see it coming! She went invisible.
Cortez got out of the water over at shore after breaking the ice, then he was hit by a snowball in his face by the Deceiver up in a tree. The blizzard had cooled down a little, Cortez drew his bow, but then he realized that she was actually behind him!
He turned around and shot her, but that was when he noticed that she didn’t attack.
His face was confused for a moment before he got his sudden realization.
The real one was on the tree!
She jumped down and shoved a snowball right into his face, then she stabbed him once in his chest as she landed firmly on the ground.
Cortez was blinded by the snow.
She then reappear behind him and shoved both her daggers down his neck, Cortez was at the brink of losing!
Cortez flapped his arms around trying to grab her, the snow was gone from his eyes, but they were still hurting.
She kicked his leg and he fell on the ice and hit his head, she then threw her rope dagger at the tree and pulled herself up and swung around the whole tree branch as she landed with both her feet on his stomach!
The ice beneath them shattered and Cortez was once again forced under water, but that was the end of the match.
The Deciever was casually chilling in the tree as she was creating another snowball that she tossed back and forth between her arms as the game ended.
Author note: Keep in mind that ropes in this game can be extended and shortened at command, therefor she was able to pull herself up to swing around the log and get back up after she landed on his stomach.
It was like she was toying with Cortez, she suddenly got much stronger after she got kicked around.
Did she misjudge his strength at first?
They got teleported out.
Cortez opened his eyes and took a deep breath!
“I really hate the cold, wow! It was like déjà vu the first time I got under the ice, but then it happened again, what is that called?” He was hitting his ear as he tried to get out some water, although there probably isn’t any water in his ear.
“I don’t know, but you seem to have a bad habit of getting stuck under water!”
As we were talking I could feel those cold eyes over my shoulder, I turned around and looked slightly back at her, what is her deal?
She left to the backside of the group, leaning against the wall, even though everyone was in front looking at the crowd.
Still haven’t heard her say a word.
That girl.....

Dawn of the Epoch
Hunter called himself an archaeologist, but he was a modern day treasure hunter. Tiyana was a scientist devoted to her craft. They were passionate people, wholly devoted to their work. Neither of them had time for love. Neither of them could resist it when it happened. Neither of them knew that the world would need the two of them to save it from a tyrannical pre-historic overlord, his cyborg vampire paramour, and their army of mindless drudges.Dawn of the Epoch is an epic science fiction novel about dark matter, death rays, nuclear warfare, and the Large Hadron Collider, but it is also a fantasy novel about medieval warriors, alchemy, and ancient gods. Dawn of the Epoch blends fantasy with reality, bringing mythology to life today. It is also an apocalyptic thriller spanning the globe from the Pyramids of Egypt to the heart of Africa to the majesty of the Himalayas. It is an epic hybrid-genre story with intense action sequences, magic, mythology, suspenseful plot twists, countless obstacles for the protagonists to overcome, and an utterly Machiavellian supernatural villain.Testimonials:"Probably one of my favorite books I've read to date. Brilliantly complex, adoringly rendered and quizzically intense. A must read and one I plan to revisit, and share!"- Amgwatts, Wattpad Reader"This has to be one of the most original and well written novels I have had the pleasure to read, on Wattpad and in general. It was captivating, interesting, immersive and above all, fantastic. I was left in awe of the beings, history and world you created. It was never dull, dry or predicable and it was a nice change from what seems to be the ever popular teen romance with vampires or werewolves or 'bad boys that are actually romantic good boys.' In the end it was a very pleasant surprise."-IridescentLies, Wattpad Readerhttp://dawnoftheepoch.weebly.com
