《Project Felia》Chapter 1 - Pilot

My name is Sky Farrow and i live in a world called Felia. The real world, know as Earth has come to a ruin, the year was 2070 when “Project Felia” became a reality. Three big sphere shaped objects was launched up in the air, these spheres contained a virtual reality. The game was not really designed to be the new ideal world to live in, it was a work in progress for several years until it was decided what the game was to become.

The Spheres got a shield that can withstand destructive forces and it is self powered by highly effective subpanels which is also a part of the armor. The Spheres are the servers, three spheres floating around the earth with the capability to hold as many people as it needed, be it billions.

Earth had become a place filled with famine, corruption and the daily life of any human were not easy. My mother and father died in the third world war that started in 2069. The war was basically every continent versus another, the destructive force of the technology was beyond human comprehension and without any other way to retaliate, nukes where launched back and forth from continent to continent, soldiers was send to fight, but it was futile.

It was only me and my little sister, we were living in the slums ever since the war started, we lived in the slums before we were evacuated to a safe zone within a bunker, but it got invade after 3 months after the fields above us where blown away, the city and everything was laid to waste.

We were both skinny at the time, dirty and tierd. Our hair was long, but it got cut short as we entered the bunker to look more civilized. Celia was really short for her age, but dont let the looks decieve you. Me? Guess normal hight, but after some workout and decent food at the bunker my body soon got more healty, that counts for Celia too.

it didnt take long before we were attacked by scavangers.

The enemy started killing people in the first wing, me and my sister where located at the last wing.

The bunker was pretty big, it would take at least 1 hour to get to us. There was a facility which contained capsules where you could transfer yourself into Felia, but your real self would die in the process. Many considered this to be inhumane, a sin, cheap way out, many would rather die then live in a fake world. Religion had grown so vast on Earth as the only hope people had and they would rather go to heaven then to live inside Felia, just like my sister, but me, I didn`t have such a strong faith.

I remember us sleeping when the alarm started going off and everything was flashing red from the alert lights. There was no way out, I took Celias hand and ran for the facility, which was in the middle of the bunker. We were only kids, those 18 or above had to fight, luckily for me I was a few days away of being 18 and my sister was soon to be 16.

Once we reached the facility we jumped inside one capsule each and started the programing, we had been thought by our teachers in class during the safety lessons how to do it. Once the programming was done I had to lay back and let the smoke filled with data microbes enter my skin, it took about 5 minutes for my whole body to be reprogrammed into “Cloud” or “Cybernet”, once the 5 minutes had past I was dead, the last thing I remember when I was alive was waiting inside the capsule, it felt like it took forever, the enemy had managed to enter the facility and started shooting at the capsule, keep in mind these capsules didn’t have any good armor at all, literally synthetic glass.

Me and my sister had entered a capsule far away from the others, but it was at the end of the process I realized that my sister had not started the program, I could not leave the capsule or move, I could only see. Celia`s capsule opened and she started screaming and waving her arms as she ran and distracted them. That was when I woke up in a white room filled with nothing.

“Celia! Don’t!” I shouted, but it was too late, I was inside an endless white room as vast as my eyes could see.

My eyes was tearing up, I cant believe it, is she dead......? . I screamed my lungs empty, but it was no use. I fell on the ground in despair hitting the ground as hard as I could several times. After a short while I thought to my self, am I dead. Was this hell? Then I realized I had been transferred to data.

“Welcome player! Sky Farrow!” a big holographic hud appeared before me.

i raised my head up while i was on my knees.

“You may select your class” The hud said as several classes where presented to me.

Classes is what type of player I want to be, there was 6 choices and these choices was life defining, once picked it could not be unpicked, you had one character, 1 life. You die in the game, you die for real.
