《Sage Of An Era》Chapter 1

The sky was grey, blanketed by endless clouds; snow fell from the clouds covering the earth in endless white. In this cold day, a lonely figure walked through a crowded street, from head to toe he was covered by a brown cloak and on his back was something wrapped in cloth but it was at least 10 feet long and the end was three feet wide.
His face was hidden by the hood of his cloak, yet it couldn’t hide the aura that was leaking from his body, a cold, lonely domineering aura.
“He’s close...” He mumbled to himself looking down at the tightly gripped locket in his palm which showed a position.
Walking forward he noticed beggars sitting in the cold huddling beside fire, many of the people completely ignored them and some even gave them disdainful gazes.
Seeing the gazes he sighed over the cruelty inside the hearts of people and shook his head and decided to walk forward. “Hmm...” He sensed a burning sensation on his palm; he looked down and felt the temperature of the locket increase. “He’s close, extremely close.” The hooded man's steps increased in speed and you could see a sense of urgency from his movement.
The further he walked into the street the number of people reduced and the number of beggars increased. The hooded man’s nose wrinkled as an unpleasant stench filled the air.
“bang!” The hooded man suddenly turned in the direction of the sound, the heat from the locket which was about to combust into flames on his palm vanished completely; however, he seemed to not have noticed this as his gaze landed on the small figure only 10 meters away from him in the alley.
A boy with jet black hair, covered in dirt that hid his facial features was laying there, his dirty ragged clothes barely covering his body. He was very young, maybe 13 years old, his skin was a dirty pale due to the cold, yet you could see that he was trembling uncontrollably as the cold winds brushed against him.

Currently, he was laying against the wall with blood flowing down his arm from a purple bruise, his breath ragged and dry. Three beggar youths stood in front of him, the youth in the right held a metal bar in his hand with blood on the end of it.
“Next time we ask, you give us what we want, or we won’t leave you with just a bruise boy, even if you die no one will care,” the youth in the middle growled. “Let’s go, his pathetic face annoys me.”
The two boys beside him followed him in the direction of the hooded man.
The boy in the middle looked at the hooded man; he couldn’t see the man’s face clearly and could only see his chin. “You saw nothing here.” The boy gave him a threatening gaze and walked past him.
“Stay there.” The hooded man growled.
“Huh?” The three beggar youths looked at him with annoyance, but the hooded man raised his head barely enough so that they could make out his facial features. But the only feature that they could pay attention to was his cold, detached grey eyes that sent chills to the very core of their being.
Suddenly a suffocating pressure came crashing down on their body, crushing them. “Scram.” A huge burst of energy forced them back into the streets.
The anger in his heart was still there yet he paid the youths no attention, they were not worthy enough for him to take action.
He then turned to look at the boy lying against the wall in front of him; the boy’s breathing came out as a mist and was extremely soft. “Finally... I’ve found you...” the hooded man mumbled, his voice containing a deep sadness, a single tear streaked down his face which he quickly wiped away.

He slowly walked towards the young boy and lifted him up, his gaze filled with tenderness. Looking around he saw no one else inside the alleyway, the three youths had long run away. He turned towards the grey sky and then he vanished from the alleyway, leaving no traces of his existence behind.

The Monster Inside: The First Vampire

They wanted to taint it, corrupt it, revel in its dark side. This is the story of a boy who was tainted. Of a boy who unintentionally bore a seed of sin and who in his naivety let it out. This is the story of how that boy was shamed and disgraced. Of how he was outcast for simply being. This is the story of how that boy learned to embrace the darkness that made him different. A darkness that would later make him known as the Lord of Night. Note to Reader: I understand this book is not for everyone, if there is a writer that can write to please everyone, I have never heard of them. The MC can be frustrating in his decisions as he learns to grow and accept what and who he is. I believe this reality is unavoidable. That being said, if you feel the need to give a review, please do so, just know that I will report you if all that review seems to do is blab toxic language and insult my literary choices without giving constructive advice or alternatives. That's not just a me policy, that's a policy of this website. I'm not writing this note because I'm a writer who does not acknowledge that there are faults in my work. I know there are. That's what happens when it hasn't been professionally edited by someone other than the author. I'm saying this because I'm sick of reading 1 star or 0.5 star rated reviews that seem to do nothing but hate on the book because they don't like the story. No comments on grammar, ways to improve or suggestions for better story arcs. Just plain hate. It's not on, and I frankly shouldn't have to write this note, but needed to get it off my chest. In saying all that, thank you to those who do leave reviews that don't fall into the above category. Your appreciation of my work, or alternatively, your willingness to give advice for improvement, is appreciated.
