《Reincarnated As A Benevolent Tyrant》Uninvited Guests

James lied down on his too comfortable bed, thinking about what just happened. He never thought that he would get angry over something and disrespect someone who didn't know what was going on?

He had always been a rational guy who took decision realistically, not by some ideals. That's how he got his reputation throughout his career as a technical advisor. His decision-making skills were remarkable, which always yielded the results everyone hoped. It was like with him nothing could go wrong.

But was it always the case? James always took the right judgments, but he was never proud of it. He knew how it feels to be always right. It was scary. Everyone thought he knew what he was doing like he was master of his stuff. But in reality, it was all luck, pure luck.

Whatever he predicted, it just happened...like he thought that the company's stocks would increase by 3% in the next quarter, because of the profits of the last two quarters and it did. He told the management that the plans they were working in Hong Kong would fail because of Govt. intervention, and it did. It was all common sense, like a child could tell this, but the people were too dumb to understand and started praising him like he was some sort of all knower who knew the future.

Today he didn't choose the logical action. He just got angry at the man named Garrat. It was his fault for not improving the people's lives, nevertheless James' actions were illogical. It was justified that he was superior in noble hierarchy and had the right to get angry at his sub-ordinates who were not doing their job properly, still he felt bad for his behavior.

These nobles didn't see commoners as human beings but as insects, which totally differed from what James had seen in his life. People were equal and had every right to live their life as they wanted, but here they were not allowed to.

Surely everyone who had seen the interaction between him and Garrat would have felt weird that why two nobles were fighting over common people's matter. The only thing all nobles agreed upon was they were created by God and were here to rule upon the common people who were here to serve them. And Leonhart took the common people's side, which was something a noble shouldn't do.

This society and its views really were twisted.

Knock! Knock!

A knock on the door disturbed James, who was deep in thoughts about his actions, which were justified in everyone's eyes, but he felt bad for the man named Garrat.

"Come In."

And opening the door, Sophia entered the room. She was here to deliver the news that a guest had arrived to meet him.

"Milord, Lord Theodor is here and asking for your audience." said Sophia in a polite tone.

"Lord Who?"

"Lord Theodor..."

"Who is that...?" asked James with a puzzled expression. He had never heard the name, so he appeared confused naturally.

"Milord..." Sophia couldn't understand how this guy forgot about the man whom he despised the most.

"What...?"

"You don't remember him."

"No..." replied James, shaking his head.

"He is.... a friend. A friend of yours." She couldn't possibly tell that he was his arch nemesis and were always trying to bite each other. Well, not in literal sense, but you got the point. Sophia was just a maid, and it was beyond her paygrade to meddle in her master's affairs so she didn't touch on the matter.

"Oooo..." James had become Leonhart by some unexplainable phenomenon where logic didn't work. But he was sure that he was still James inside the body of Leonhart with no memories of the man he had become. So if Theodor was Leonhart's friend about him, he knew nothing, then it was his duty to meet him.

"So... Where is he...?"asked James.

"He is waiting in your office."

"Let's go then."

"Yes Lord." said Sophia, bowing down concerning his request.

After traversing through the mansion, James reached the office where the man named Theodor was waiting for him. Sophia had told him he was a friend and they would get along pretty well. So he was a little excited to meet this guy.

As James opened the door and entered the room, a man with brown hair and brown eyes with an attractive look greeted him by bowing down and another overly handsome man with white hair and violet eyes who was sitting on the sofa just waved his hand. He had a massive grin plastered on his face, as if he was the happiest man alive in the whole wide world.

"Leonhart... My friend, how you doing....?" shouted Theodor, getting up from his seat.

"Good... I am good. Ho-w are you Lord Theodor...?"

"Drop the honours... We are friends, remember?"

"Yeah... Friends." James said with an awkward smile. He had no friends back in his days, but now he was talking with a stranger who was introducing himself as a friend.

James sat down opposite to Theo, who also sat down, crossing his legs and stretching his arms covering the whole sofa. He acted like it was his own place. Soon Sophia entered the room, holding some snacks and tea in a tray. She distributed the items between them and stood behind Leonhart like how Casper was standing behind Theodor.

Casper nodded, seeing Sophia, who also did the same, as if they had known each other for a very long time. But a look of dismay could be seen in her eyes.

"You know Sophia... I can never get enough of your tea. You should work in my house instead of this guy." said Theo with a casual smile, sipping the contents of the cup.

"Thank you Lord... But I am happy with where I am." said Sophia in a polite tone.

"I can give you a raise... Tell me how much this guy gives... I will pay double." Again asked Theo, with the same smile. He was acting like he was dead set on getting Sophia.

"I humbly thank you for your offer Lod Theodor, but... I have to decline." said the maid in a gentle tone. She knew the nature of the person before her very well and never wanted to get involved with him.

"Too Bad... But remember, the doors of my estate are always open for you." said Theo with a bitter smile.

Throughout the conversation, James acted like he didn't exist. He just listen to the conversation and nodded, adding nothing. Sophia seemed reluctant to stay with him, so he remained silent. If she had voice out her thought of leaving and joining Theodor, he was no one to oppose her decision.

"Let's get serious... Shall we...?" said the youth with violet eyes, dropping the cup with a thud.

"..." James didn't understand what he meant by that.

"So... Leon, why are you here?" asked Theo bluntly. The friendly look on his face was nowhere to be seen, but was replaced by a serious one.

"Wha-t do you mean...?"

"Stop beating around the bush and tell me why the hell are you here...? Certainly you are not here for a morning jog, right?"

"Whaa-t...?" James couldn't understand where the man with the happiest smile on earth went. He was just here smiling and now, within a second, turned into a villain of some old school drama.

"If you are here for the mines, then let me tell you one thing... You won't get it. They were ours, they are ours, and they will be ours. Remember that?" said Theo in a scary tone. He had never been a friend of Leon. He hated him more than anyone else in his life.

"Wait...I..." Before James could say anything, the man with white hair spoke again.

"You know Leon... You were always an idiot, you are an idiot, and will stay an idiot. Nothing will change. You are a person who has achieved nothing in life, literally nothing. You spent your days drinking and gambling while I spent my days' training and learning. Between you and me, I am the superior one. I have achieved so many things that you can't even dream of." said Theo with a proud smile.

"..." James just stared at the man with a dumbfounded expression. Just what was going on here? He thought the man before him was here to talk, not to sing his achievement. And what with the superior thing?

"I knew you won't be able to say anything." seeing the expression on Leon's face, Theo spoke with a smug look. He was satisfied beyond comprehension. It was the first time that he had finished singing his achievements before Leon throwing any punches at him.

"..."

"Let's go Casper... Our job is done here." He was here just to provoke him, not to do any chit chat. And even if stayed any longer, there was nothing to be cultivated here.

With that, the youth left the room and behind him, his personal advisor also left, bowing down one last time, leaving Leonhart and the maid Sophia alone in that office room.

"Sophia..."

"Yes Lord..."

"What the fuck just happened...?"

"Lord Theodor showed his true colors." said Sophia with a sigh. She knew it was going to happen, but the real bummer was why Leon didn't react to any of that crap? He could beat the shit out of the man named Theodor in a minute, but did nothing.

"..." James stayed silent, saying nothing. His brain was still processing the momentary shock it received by hearing what that white-haired guy said.
