Moments Earlier on Earth

Before Victor was summoned to Aethion he was in a rather unusual situation. He was in a large dimly lit room; He was not the only occupant however. He was sitting in front of a large ornate desk, stationed around the walls of the room were large armed men in suits. Although they were large, Victor was still bigger than them. Many of them, hardened killers though they were, were glancing at him warily, as they knew him, he was once their Young Master after all. He had been waiting for a while when the doors on one side of the room opened and a rather intimidating figure entered.

He wasn’t the largest man present; in fact he could be considered of average height as he was only around 6 feet tall. He was intimidating though and was a good leader, which was why most of his subordinates follow him. He moved swiftly with a dangerous grace and looked at Victor with soft brown eyes as he sat down.

He could be considered handsome, though he had rather harsh looks, they were softer and less cold than Victor's, but could still be considered handsome nonetheless. The look in his eyes turned somewhat kind as he spoke softly to Victor. “Hello, son, it has been a while.” Victor snorted at that and replied in his much deeper voice.

“As I recall, when we last truly spoke, You said I was no son of yours, and I said that She was my only family from the moment you believed that Bitch over me concerning what happened. Anyways, what did you call me hear for Oh Father Dearest?” His last words were laced with easily noticeable sarcasm. His father gritted his teeth for a moment before he replied saying.

“What was I supposed to believe, when you were found in your room draped over her, when she was in a state of undress and was unconscious? Though you had saved her life those years ago it was you against my Wife at the time, and she appeared to only have her interests at heart. I regret what I chose that day, as after you left I lost my daughter, and then my wife when I found out the truth.” He paused for a moment and let out a long sigh before he ran a hand through his short brown hair.

“I called you here to tell you that she will soon be entering your University. Legally the restraining order is technically still in effect, even though the charges that spawned it were dropped. She has been rather industrial in her efforts to search for you. Unfortunately should the Authorities get wind of the both of you being there in such close proximity then they would most likely attempt to relocate you again. If this happens again then you may be forced to face some time, just like before, though I will use my influence to try to lessen the consequences.”

Victor leaned back in his chair for a moment and stretched his arms out, and as he did so the chair gave a light groan under his shifting weight. “How exactly is she finding me, this makes what, the sixth, Seventh time she has gone to a location I am at or had been at since I was released a year and a half ago?” He stood up, giving his poor seat a reprieve from him; he then turned around and stretched, more fully than he was able to while sitting. Just like his father had done not so long ago he let out a long sigh while running a hand through his hair.

When his father performed the gesture it made him seem nervous or frustrated, while his long hair gave the gesture a different feeling to it. “Fine. Was this all you called me here for? You could have just sent one of your lackeys or underlings to send the message.” At that statement, his father became less than composed. “Uh, we-well, I uh missed you.”

Victor sneered in response to that and chuckled profusely before he managed to control himself enough to respond properly. “Really? You missed me? That is why you deemed it appropriate to lower yourself to meet with one such as me? Well, Dear Padre it is too late for any sort of reparations, you lost me the moment you helped me get convicted of the rape of the one person I truly cared about that actually cared about me, and had no ulterior motives in doing so.”

His father stood up abruptly and bellowed at Victor, seething in anger. “Now see here, you Ungratef-“

“ENOUGH!!” roared Victor, and at that sound the majority of the men in the room unholstered their weapons. His father gestured at them to put them away as Victor continued speaking. His voice was gentler and softer, than it was before, and didn’t contain any of roughness and sarcasm that it had when he addressed his father.

“Just, enough, I told you it is too late, though if she forgives you I might be able to tolerate you a little. Anyways, I have to get going soon, or else people may get suspicious of why I am at the estate of one such as you, though I managed to lose most of my tails. That’s another thing; please retract the people of yours that you have had following me.”

After finishing that statement Victor started to head towards the doors leading out of the room after he spoke, with his father staring silently after him. As he approached the doors they opened outwards, it was at that moment that one of the men stationed near the door finally lost his composure and tried to attack Victor. He was one of the newer members of the organization and as a consequence he was not as familiar with Victor and his circumstances as the others in the room. The smaller man swiftly revealed his gun and turned towards Victor who was just passing by him.

Though both his father and the other guards in the room made exclamations at the guards foolish actions they made no movements, as they knew what was going to happen. As the man cocked the gun, Victor went into motion. He pivoted on one foot, turning with a swiftness one wouldn’t expect from someone his size. He swung his right arm knocking arm of the man hold the gun towards the ground before he grasped it hold it in place. He then kicked out with a leg, directing it towards the back of the man’s kneecap, both a sickening crunch and a piercing scream could be heard as the foolish man felt it in full.

He then twisted the arm holding the gun back and wrenched it upwards with his great strength nearly wrenching the arm off, but merely dislocating it. The poor soul fell to the ground as Victor released him; the fool was barely conscious and twitching. He turned back towards the door and spoke over his shoulder coldly saying. “Deal with him how you wish, I am leaving.” He then left the room full with the doors closing behind him. His father sighed and returned to his seat, as he gestured away with one arm, leaving his men to exit the room and dispose of the fool.

As Victor left his father’s house, he paused as he heard an accented voice speak. “Still as ruthless as ever, huh Vic?” Victor responded to the other man without turning back, though his voice was not quite as cold as it was when he left his father’s office. “What do you want Sebastian?”

The elderly butler walked in front of Victor revealing his smaller seemingly frail form, before he responded. “I want nothing in particular, just wanted to tell you to be careful, and to keep her safe, as always.” Victor’s response was a snort, before he walked past the British man, while giving a near imperceptible nod towards him.

After he left the estate he turned off of the road that led to the massive mansion. He walked into the city proper and away from the somewhat secluded estate. That place was not his Father’s true home, but one of many places he had scattered throughout the Country and the world, to a lesser extent. He walked past several small stores and into a series of adjacent alleyways. He paused for a moment as his body shuddered, involuntarily and the hair on his neck rose. It was at that moment that he heard a strange cracking noise and a light descended from the sky.

Time seemed to freeze as the Light enveloped him, then the pain started. Victor was no stranger to pain, he was actually rather familiar with it due to his life thus far, but this nearly eclipsed anything else he had felt before. It felt like his skin was being peeled with a vegetable peeler, strip by strip. Normally the summoning process was swift and painless, the main reason why it was so painful to Victor was that he was resisting with all his being, because of his promise to Her.

As the pain reached a threshold he nearly lost consciousness and he finally left this plane of existence as the summoning completed on this end. When he regained awareness, it was rather apparent that he was no longer in the alleyway he had been in, or perhaps even on earth. He looked over at a man who had fainted and wet himself as Victor opened his eyes and gain his bearings. “Well this is certainly new and unexpected.” He exclaimed, mostly it was towards the blue screens that had appeared, one contained a message, the other contained a status screen much like one out of a game or Light or Web novel of some sort.
