《A new life in a new world.》Bonding

It’s the first day of the ninth month, that means school has begun. I got up, changed my clothes and went outside to start my daily routine. A little running to wake me up. Now I have run laps around the school.
After exercising I went to Liliana’s office.
“Good morning headmistress.” Good morning for me, she looked like she drank enough to get everybody and their mothers drunk.
“I was supposed to give you your uniform today. It’s over there hanged by the window.”
My uniform was on a hanger placed on the window’s handle. A white shirt with an owl on it, a black jacket, black pants and black shoes, pretty nice for a uniform. The uniform was made out of regular cloth and leather with no enchantments on them, I guess nobody would bother enchanting regular clothing.
“You can admire your target dummy costume when you get to your room, hurry up and leave, I want to sleep a little longer.”
“Fine but you might want to sleep on the couch, it’s better than sleeping on the fucking desk.”
“It’s fine, I’m used to it.”
“Good bye.”
No use talking to her now, she still has to greet the students at noon so I won’t bother her. At least the uniform was on a hanger, it’s a lot easier to carry it this way.
When I got to the second floor I saw a boy and a woman standing in front of the door. The woman had a maid outfit so I guess the boy’s parents are rich. I might as well go and greet my future roommate.
“Hello, my name is Alexander Lowe. We are going to be roommates starting today so can you tell me your name.”
“I am Jaden Dan, that’s all you need to know.”
The maid opened the door, took the boy’s luggage and went inside. The boy followed her.
“I know I look like peasant A to you but you could at least talk to me.”
“You really are a peasant, you can’t even make your own bed.”
I wanted to make it after I got my uniform but this guy had to point that out.
“I was going to make it now, you don’t have to be a bitch about it, it’s not like you make yours yourself.”
The boy said nothing and waited for the maid to unpack his bag. The boy was age was 11, he was about 1.30 meters tall, he had black hair, green eyes, a fit body type and an expression full of confidence. The maid was about as tall as me, had long auburn colored hair a slender body and an expressionless face. The maid’s age was 25.
“So what year are you simpleton?”
“Third year.”
“The same as me then. I am impressed that you skipped the first two years.”
“How did you guess?”
“I didn’t skip so I’ve been here for two years, and you are the first student I’ve seen to take the black uniform.”
“I chose to remain neutral, since your jacket and pants are blue I guess you are one of those who rely on magic.”
“Yes, it’s good you took the black uniform, I wouldn’t want people like you wearing the same uniform as me.”
Urge to kill raises. Anyone would have chocked this bitch to death but I had a reason for holding back, the maid’s threat level. My scan isn’t powerful enough to give me additional information but a threat level 3 is not something to take lightly. I have to make sure I have a good reason for getting into a fight.

“Young Master, it’s almost noon. The ceremony is starting.”
“Thank you for telling me Mir.”
The maid’s name was Mir meaning she didn’t have a family name. The maid is my first target for now.
“I will see you there Jaden.”
I jumped out of the window and made my way to the yard. There were at least 100 students for every grade. Liliana was standing in front of the school’s doors.
“Good day to all of you. I am Liliana Grimm the headmistress of Eule academy. During your stay here I will be your best friend and your worst nightmare. Next to me is Maria, my apprentice and the head of the staff. Eule academy’s purpose is to train your bodies and minds and change you from idiots into Sonne’s elites.
Our purpose isn’t to make you study, it’s to make you learn out of your free will. Maria and I will be your teachers as well as your caretakers so don’t hesitate to count on us.
Nobody likes to listen to me bragging so I am going to end my speech here and show you what we hope to achieve by educating you. The classes will begin tomorrow morning. You are dismissed!”
The speech was good enough to make people shout and clap. Compared to her state in the morning she sobered up pretty fast. The rest of the day was free so I might try a little bonding with my roommate.
When we arrived inside Mir handed Jaden a cup of tea. For some reason she was able to prepare tea despite being with him the whole time.
“The headmistress’s speech was moving. It was very motivating and inspirational. What do you think Lowe?
“Lilana’s speech was all right I guess. It wasn’t that moving for me but I think she tried her best, not that I care.”
“Have you no respect for the headmistress! I should drag you to her and have you punished!”
“Please try and watch me laugh at you when you fail.”
“You should learn your place. You don’t know who you are talking to.”
“No shit Sherlock, you didn’t tell me.”
“The Dan family is a family of merchants. My father, Axel Dan, is a famous merchant who works with Sonne’s nobleman.”
“Good for you, you can continue your family tradition when you grow up.”
This guy was getting on my nerves.
“Of course, I will become a greater merchant than my father ever was.”
The maid followed Jaden around everywhere he went. I couldn’t even eat in peace.
Jaden’s maid was one of the reason I couldn’t eat in peace, the other was people’s eyes. When they weren’t staring at Mir’s breasts they were looking at me, more specifically my uniform.
After I ate I went in the courtyard. For some reason most of the students were here. Everybody was looking at me. The boys saw me as a target and the girls saw me as a different type of target. Most of the boys here couldn’t even compare to me. I was one of the few fabulous boys, more like the only one but that doesn’t matter. Most girls blush when I look them in the eye and then close their eyes in embarrassment. It was funny teasing them like that.
I tried to memorize everybody I saw. Most students were first and second years and their threat level was 0. Either all of them are weak or the strong ones aren’t here.
Now that I know most of the students I have nothing to do here. The girls are too dazed to talk to me and the boys would probably want to beat me and Jaden already left.

I went back to my room and I saw Jaden reading a book.
“What’s that?”
“The story of the first war, that’s what we are going to study this month.”
“I memorized that when I was six.”
“Is that so?”
Jaden spent the rest of the day asking me details about the war. I learned everything I know from Ellen and considering that most of the books in Ellen’s house were novel I think that Ellen’s memory is as good as mine and that’s some scary shit. It was almost midnight, I think he should stop with the questions.
“Anything else?”
“You are pretty good for a peasant. I bet you came here to seduce girls.”
His insults aren’t that impressive but he still pisses me off, I think it’s about time I put him in his place.
“You certainly have the looks but even if….GAH!”
I took him by the throat, lifted him a little and looked him in the eyes.
“One of the basics of education is respect. A bitch like you deserves none but I thought that I would give you a chance. If you want me to act like peasant A, I’m going to act like one and show you how little social status counts. You start talking to me normally and I’m not going to show you a fate worse than death.”
I threw him on the bed. He looked at me like he saw a demon and that’s the result I wanted. Kraft made sure to teach me the art of intimidation in cause I run into someone I’m not allowed to kill. Sooner or later everybody gets a wake-up call and this was his.
Now it will be a good time to leave him alone and give him some time to think.
I went to the rooftop and looked at the stars.
“What you did wasn’t nice of you.”
What the fuck is the maid doing here? The first time I scanned her she only had wind magic not teleportation. Actually let’s scan her again. So she used to be an assassin, well shit.
“I can feel demon wolves sneaking up on me, how the hell did you get here?”
“Like you, I jumped out of the window and climbed here.”
I turned around facing her.
“So what happens now? Are you here to assassinate me for scaring your master?”
“As you can see I am unarmed and my reason for coming here is to talk to you. You were too fast for me when you grabbed the Young Master so it is impossible for me to win without body enchantment.”
“So, you can use it, I will wait.”
“Even If I did use it I couldn’t beat you here. You only use the door when you enter the room and the fact that you climbed here without magic is proof enough that you know something akin to the Art of Movement. I’m never making the mistake of fighting when I am at a disadvantage again.”
“Is that the mistake that ended you career as an assassin?”
“It was. That’s all I’m going to say.”
“Subject 2. You wanted to talk about Jaden, what is it?”
“I wanted to ask what your reason for doing that was and what did you hope to obtain.”
“A reason huh? I guess he pissed me off and I wanted to give him a lesson about what happens when you leave your manners at home. As for what I obtained, personal satisfaction. I put him in his place and I thought that I may open his eyes a little.”
“I am relieved. It looks like you have no real intention of harming the Young Master.”
“So you could tell.”
“As an assassin you learn some things and one of them is deception, that doesn’t mean I approve of what you did.”
“It’s not like I gave him a trauma.”
“He is going to be fine. He wasn’t like this in the past but a certain incident forced him to behave this way.”
“You are not calling him Young Master anymore.”
“I call him that when I talk about him as his servant. Now I’m just an adult talking about a kid but I guess you know how that feels, after all you are only seven.”
“So much for privacy, despite how I look I am seven but don’t think I’m that immature.”
“I don’t, that’s why I’m here in the first place. I just wanted to say that despite his behaviour he is a good person.”
“If he talks to me as an equal I’m not going to hurt him. I didn’t come here to make enemies.”
“A wise choice. I am going to tell you something, the boy is very trusting, earn his trust and good things will happen to you.”
“I guess the beastpeople aren’t the only ones with a life-debt.”
For some reason she looked surprised when I said that. After a few moments she grinned.
“It looks like a lost the psychological battle too. I guess you already have a pretty good idea about what happened to me.”
“You gave me enough clues, and I have a feeling that you wanted me to notice.”
“I have no idea what you are talking about.”
I think she enjoys playing dumb.
So an ex assassin playing maid, the boy’s parents really need to stop what they are doing.
“Are you coming inside?”
“We should get to know each other more first.”
“It wasn’t funny. I get the joke but it wasn’t funny.”
“I know, I just wanted to say it. Well then let’s go back.”
So I ended up coming through the window. Mir looked like she was used to it but she used wind magic to glide a little, envy intensifies. I closed the window and locket it.
It looks like Jaden was too tired to wait for us and fell asleep.
“After what I did to him I didn’t expect him to fall asleep so easy.”
“It wasn’t the first time he was threatened. You surprised him but he will be fine after he wakes up.”
“If he starts acting like a bitch again don’t expect me hold back again.”
“You don’t have to worry. Next time you won’t be able to get through me.”
Well, she was very confident in her skills but I don’t think that will be enough to stop me, after all I am trained to defeat those stronger than me.
Mir looked like the type of person than keeps secrets, not the type that lies and that means something. During our conversation I said things that would surprise most people but she didn’t even flinch, I have to stay on her good side. If what she said about Jaden is true it might be a good idea to befriend him.
Tomorrow we are supposed to meet our teachers and begin or classes and I am supposed to starting training with Maria.
I look forward to beating the punks who challenge me for wearing the black uniform.

The Ascendant: Endless Reincarnation
My name is Richard Brooks. I died while saving a kid. Kicking the bucket at 28 was really depressing, you know? There’s so much I still wanted to do. But instead of passing on, I was thrust into an endless series of reincarnations. Whenever I die, I earn Karma points based on my achievements and growth. These points can be exchanged for weapons, spells, or other bonuses to make my next lives more interesting. “What kills me only makes me stronger!” Or something like that. Honestly, it feels like I’m stuck in an RPG. The difficulty setting can be pretty ridiculous too. Sometimes all I can do is grit my teeth in frustration as I die an ignoble death. But I won’t complain. Even when it’s dangerous and painful, I love life. This is all an opportunity; I’ll do my best, no matter what kind of sadistic fate the System throws at me. I will swing the warhammer of justice! Craft and enhance the most amazing artifacts! Overwhelm opponents with a barrage of auto-casting spells! Lead powerful vassals in Domain wars! All for the sake of creating an eternal sanctuary. With my unique power of Runecrafting, maybe I’ll even become strong enough one day to overturn fate… or at least find out what the hell is really going on. It might take a few hundred or a thousand lifetimes, but what’s the rush? I have all the time in the world now. (Note: R15+ This is the work of a very inexperienced author with a full time job. Please expect an erratic release schedule.)
