Chapter 12- Convenient god
--Reveka---
Without removing my eyes from the struggling wolf before me, I slowly stood up again. The poor creature’s target moved from my throat to my leg, but leg or neck, it didn’t lead to any progress being made.
I finally moved my eyes away from it, and warily turned to look at my surroundings. Well, apparently, the things I should be wary of right now, aren’t around me but behind me.
My heart panicked for a few heartbeats, as I slowly turned my head back and saw three people with very different reactions. It’s not like I could read people’s feelings from their expressions that well, but from their confused reactions I could probably still pull some white lie with San and Kida. The thought made me feel guilty but I really hope they think of this, as the wolf having an inner struggle about whether or not to bite off my leg. As for the so-not-Jin, I really didn’t know what to do.
As I was staring holes into him, our eyes met and I averted my gaze gloomily.
I turned my head back to the wolf. First to get rid of these –I thought to myself and recited a wish in my head: I wish to be rid of these wolves.
NOPE! I shouted mentally. I refuse to lose my indestructibility at times like these; better go with plan B.
People might wonder, where the hell I would find a plan B, but let’s just call it a desperate measure… or maybe less desperate, and more annoyed and freaked out because of a certain somebody.
Once again, I turned my gaze to look at fake-Jin. This time I was more confident, as I looked at the guy with a sneer targeted both at him and at my stupid plan B, that wasn’t a plan at all. I looked at him for a few more moments before turning dramatically, and with that same drama-exuding self, I raised both my arms as if giving up and said loudly (and very dramatically): “If…If this… is how it’s meant to… end, then… I leave my fate… in the hands of god…”
My awful speech, this time, was perfectly used to create suspense. Be as I am, I still have an actress’ blood in my veins.

During this whole act of mine, I kept looking with the corner of my eye at the only god present in this whole scene. I’m pretty sure he felt my gaze and I think his lips twitched a bit. Not a very positive reaction, if you ask me; and, unfortunately he wasn’t the only one to show a not-positive reaction.
My short speech had apparently served as a signal to the whole pack of wolves to suddenly attack me. I’d like to say ‘no, thank you’ to this situation, but even though I felt a bit panicked, I still knew I’d be fine. The problem was that, the ones behind me might not have known this.
“REVI!”
Before I knew it, Kida had already reacted. She ran to me in a split second, while holding something in her hands. My eyes caught a very familiar looking sword, being unsheathed from a certain black cloth.
Ah, it’s Bride- would have been my reaction in a normal situation, but not this time. I heard San’s voice from behind as he shouted at her. I saw as the young girl hurried towards me, and in a matter of seconds attacked one of the wolves powerfully. However, the sword didn’t leave as much as a scratch on the creature’s body. How that happened I didn’t know, and I didn’t think about. As panic finally got to me for real this time, I shouted angrily:
“STUPID!”
My voice must have really surprised her, as she jumped when she heard me shout, and a pair of shocked eyes turned to look at me. Of course, I couldn’t bother about such thing, as I angrily stepped between her and another wolf I knew well. Before me, it seemed to hesitate a bit; behind me, she was looking both shocked and confused.
However at that moment I couldn’t be bothered about other people’s reactions as my mind was preoccupied.
You f**king god! I didn’t even believe in god in the first place but in this case I have no choice. I wish you would just listen.
That thought was the first signal.
Why can’t there be something as convenient as controlling gods by knowing their names like in some stories? I wish there was something like that.

…
And that made my wish come true.
…
I had noticed that the weakened state thing has appeared a lot lately, but frankly the only thing that is different about me is the SS. Everything else remains the same and I don’t really feel any weaker. BUT, if this weakened state is so freaking good, I don’t mind it at all.
A very wicked and very wide grin appeared on my face, right in the middle of that small battle, right after I heard that beautiful sound that announced my wish-come-true. That very bright smile of mine left the others flabbergasted, but it wasn’t the others’ reactions that I wanted to see.
I turned my head to the god and noticed another twitch of his mouth somewhere along the passing moments.
“Not-Jin…” At first I mumbled at him and he eyed me suspiciously. I continued “Ahcel O’ Elze...”
The moment his name left my mouth, the word ‘shock’ wasn’t enough to describe that distorted gentle-face.
“Huh?” -was the feeble response he barely let out of his mouth.
Sorry for that, handsome, -was my mocking inner voice.

--Ahcel---
I knew something was off since the first time I saw her and I don’t mean her face. That presence of hers is wrong. Sometimes I feel it, other times I don’t. Sometimes it comes off as powerful, other time weak, and even weird. However, even though, I knew something was wrong with her, I never thought of it as dangerous. I just got a bit curious and wanted to observe for a while. But, it’s my first time in Middleworld so maybe I got curious too easily and let my guard down too soon.
“Not-Jin…”
Huh? What did she say? The big smile faced my way and that mumbling sentence made me somewhat nervous.
“Ahcel O’ Elze...”
“Huh?”
I let out that half response unintentionally, but my voice came out weaker than I would normally want it to. Even if I look like this, I am a god of war, okay?
While I was thinking, she spoke again.
“I want you to drive those wolves away.”
Her words were slow, but no matter how I heard them, they looked as an order to me. She dares to give an order to me? My initial shock was turning into annoyance and I wanted to shout a big NO at her and maybe even use some mana to scare her off, but those thoughts were forcefully pushed at the back of mind. I would have liked to say that something took over my mind and body, however it didn’t feel like that. It felt like it was born inside my mind, and took root from there. I remembered everything clearly. I knew I had felt annoyed just a moment ago. My own consciousness was clearly there, yet something inside me had changed. It didn’t feel like anything was controlling me, no. It seemed so natural to do just as she wanted, or else it felt like hell would break loose.
Those kinds of thoughts bloomed into my mind, and just like that, very naturally, I kind of let free of my aura and kind of scared all the wolves away, everything done in a matter of seconds.
I turned to face the girl, expecting to see her finally satisfied expression, but she was looking at me with doubtful eyes. Why?- I almost panicked. Her eyes seemed to be saying ‘It actually was that easy and you still didn’t move your b*tt earlier’.
…
My ‘panic’ lasted only so long as she averted her gaze from me.
After that she looked at the sky, then watched the surroundings with a weird expression, stared at both the other kids and the sword in the younger girl’s hand for a few moments, and then turned back to me while beaming and clearly wanting to ask for something.
What is it? I was about to ask but didn’t as her next line interrupted me.
“I am hungry,” she said with a very innocent face that somehow made me shudder.
Really now!
