(PDV 3° person, Five Elements Academy)

As the day ends and the students start to go home, Serena and Maria walk to the gates that goes to the White District. As they walk, the chat and laugh, attracting attention of the students surrounding her.

(random student 1): “Hey, I swear that I saw that girl in the TV at least once… is she a celebrity?”

(random student 2): “No, you idiot! She’s Serena Pendragon! The daughter of the king of England, she’s one of the most powerful people in earth in terms of influence and money!”

The talk to teach other. Serena ignores them, as she is already used to it, and Maria is alert. If someone try to touch her princess without the princess’ permission, she will take them down instantly.

As they walk, they notice a small commotion on the gate. Some students are stopping to look at something making hard to go through the gate. Of course, the girls get curious, and, as they approach, they hear a familiar voice:

(Luminus): “Guys, please, open way! Don’t block the way out!”

As he says that, the people around actually obey, opening the way, but still stay around to look at him.

(random student 3): “Isn’t that the White King?”

(Random Student 4): “Yeah! I heard that last year he leaded an expedition to the White Plains, and captured a Giant White Falcon that’s a First Generation! Between the Five Kings, it’s believed that he’s only matched by the Black King!”

Serena, seeing her acquainted planted in the middle of the gate with two people behind him as bodyguards, approaches out of curiosity. Luminus, seeing her, immediately makes a polite bow, followed by his followers.

The first one is a big and burly kid, with big muscles and tan skin, with shaved head and a manly face with brown eyes. The other one is a girl, with long and straight black hair and green eyes, with fair white skin and pretty face. She’s also quite sexy, with a playful glint in her eyes.

(Luminus): “Serena-sama, it’s an honor.”

(Serena): “Please, Luminus-san, don’t be so formal. Did you find your brother?”

(Luminus): “Unfortunately, it seems that he’s avoiding me…”

He says, smiling wryly.

(Luminus): “I’m mounting guard here hoping that I could catch him but… I failed, it seems…’’

As they speak, they start to walk home, leaving behind some students, creating rumors that they have no control over… and that they will hear about soon enough. As they walk, Luminus introduce his companions.

(Luminus): “Serena-sama, these are my lieutenants, of course, both White Mages. The guy is Daniel is my second in command and best friend, and the girl is also one of my best friends, Vanilla.”

(Daniel): “It’s an honor, Princess Serena, Maria-sama.”

(Vanilla): “Princess Serena, Maria-sama.”

They both bowed in respect. Serena smiled gently and said:

(Serena): “Please, don’t be so formal. Treat me like someone of your age normally. Although you are aware who I am, please, let me introduce myself. My name is Serena Pendragon, it’s a pleasure to meet you both.”

She says, bowing politely, making both youngsters feel a bit awkward. They chat as they walk, and Vanilla and Daniel quickly turn friends with both girls. Daniel is reserved, and Vanilla is pretty open, and since Serena and Maria are quite warm and gentle, they quickly turn friends.

After some time, they split up, with Luminus group walking together. As they walk in silence, Daniel and Vanilla look at each other, anxious. Reason? They’re Luminus best friends, and they know him very well. Daniel knew him even before the school, and Vanilla got in the same combat team as them, and trust both with her life.

And recently, they have clearly noticed that Luminus is… on edge. Nervous, and a bit angry. That’s the impression that they are getting from him. And it’s first time that the have seen the polite and controlled Luminus… this way.

(Daniel): “Luminus… can I ask a question?”

(Luminus): “Go on.”

(Daniel): “Yeah… you know… well…”

Luminus stop, making both stop as well, clearly nervous. Luminus turn around, looking at Daniel.

(Luminus): “What?”

(Daniel): “Well… you know… hum…”

(Luminus): “What?!”

Luminus burst, scaring both. Noticing what happened, he sighs and says:

(Luminus): “Sorry for that. What is it?”

(Vanilla): “You’re different. Since you got wind that your brother is coming here you… changed. Is your brother… really that bad?”

(Luminus): “What do you mean?”

(Daniel): “Well, you barely talk about him, and seem uncomfortable with the fact that he’s around…”

(Vanilla): “Are you and your brother in bad terms?”

(Luminus): “No, far from that. I don’t believe that there is a better brother than him. I can say that I would die for my brother.”

(Daniel): “So why the tension?”

(Luminus): “You know that, as the White King, I have a lot of enemies, mainly the guys under the Red King. And because of that I worry for my brother.”

Daniel and Vanilla looked at each other, relieved. At least isn’t something like siblings’ rivalry or that they hate each other. But now, another problem showed up. The Red King and his subordinates aren’t the type that hold back in the intimidation and aggression aspect.

Most of them get into fights and provoke people all the time, giving them the reputation of dangerous people. Their Red King being the nemesis of Luminus. Hey both clash all the time, and the Red King is always trying to make things difficult for Luminus.

(Vanilla): “True, you brother might be in danger…”

(Daniel): “Yeah. If you want I can make someone follow your brother stay safe.”

Luminus just waved his head, making Daniel and Vanilla confused. Isn’t keeping his brother safe his priority? Why deny it?

(Luminus): “Although I appreciate your concern, my brother can handle himself. I know that better than anyone. It’s not about him that I’m worried about, is what he can do that makes me worried.”

(Vanilla): “What do you mean?”

(Luminus): “You guys will know when you meet him. Actually, Vanilla, you’re free three days from now, right?”

(Vanilla): “Yeah, my class will have a free day. Why?”

(Luminus): “Can you supervise my brother’s combat class, please?”

(Vanilla): “I don’t mind, but why?”

Luminus started walking again, and Vanilla and Daniel followed him.

(Luminus): “I looked into my brother’s class… and it seems that some of the Red King’s new subordinates are in his class.”

(Vanilla): “They already know who’s your brother?”

(Luminus): “Yeah. Umbra Vane.”
