Chapter 19
after I sit down to eat ghost and sally come in from behind me, I turn around to greet them when I see an albino wolf furry, standing next to sally.
"What happened?" jack
"Sally showed me something called the internet, it's a wonderful thing with tons of information." ghost
I stand up and put my hands sally's shoulders. For some reason she gets really nervous. I give her thumbs up.
"Good job." jack
"This form is really useful; I can get almost all the advantages of being in wolf form while keeping the advantages of human form. The only downside is that I can only use it for at most 1 hour." ghost
"That’s fine." jack
After that we quickly finished eating.
"Hey Joe, you should leave a note telling your parents where we are going." Johanna
"Sure, but what do I put on it in the event that we are already at your home town before they get out?" Joe
"That’s right, we don't know the name of the place where you two grew up yet" jacobe
"Now that I think about it, we haven't told them that yet." Johanna
"It’s the village of the gods" jack
At this everyone except for ghost, who was indifferent like usual, and Lucy, who was laughing a little, was staring at us with their mouths gaping open.
"You mean that legendary village where the gods hold all of their important meetings?" mr smith
"The very same. although, contrary to popular belief, the village forming was not due to the direct action of the gods, but rather a byproduct of gods frequenting the area. All the creatures in that area were significantly stronger due to them evolving. There’s a lot more that I’ll go into when we actually get there" Johanna

"I honestly didn't know that." jack
"When was the last time you paid attention during history class?" Johanna
"When was the last time I attended history class?" jack
"I don't know. What we’re doing during school anyway, I never managed to figure that one out." Johanna
"Well, half the time I was stalking my next victim, and the other half I was training in various dojos" jack
"Wait, what do you mean by 'stalking my next victim'? Are you some kind of serial killer?" selena
"Yes, I am. Although all of my victims are child molesters and rapists, except martin of course." jack
"Great, our party’s leader is a serial killer with a sense of justice. If it wasn't for the whole situation I would be extremely disturbed right now." jacobe
"I don't have a sense of justice" jack
'I’m not capable of something like that' jack
“I just targeted people that most wouldn’t go looking for" jack
"Why are you telling us this now then, won't you go to jail if this gets out?" selena
"Nope, all 11 of my kills, well 12 now with martin, are legal." jack
"Two things. First, you realize that having that kill count makes you the most successful serial killer in living memory. Second, how exactly are they legal?" sally
"I can explain that. In our village there are two ways to kill someone legally, the first is to not get caught for a set period of time, and this one is almost never used. The other is to challenge someone to a duel to the death. This is much more popular. Although I say it's more popular there is still almost no one that does either one anymore" Johanna
"The method I use is the first method. I even got a nick name for it, phantom. Although the one I used with martin was the second, as he unintentionally initiated a duel to the death when he tried to kill Me." jack

"Out of curiosity, when did you get your first kill?" mr smith
everyone stares at the teacher who, until just now, had remained silent.
"when I was 5 years old, a man attempted to rape Johanna, I cut his throat out." jack
"I think we should start moving now before it gets late" jacobe
"yeah, better not dwell on our companions past too much, especially as he is the reason most of us are alive" Joe
and so we started walking in silence, after a while I saw something in the distance, too far for any of the others to see.
"hey, I’m going to scout ahead a bit" jack
"I’ll join you." Johanna
let me explain something about religion in this world. there is only one monotheistic religion, it is known simply as the church. the church makes up a vast majority of the humans that are aware of magic, among other things. they also preach human superiority and the extinction of all creatures that are not human. needless to say I fucking hate the church. this is why I smiled in glee as I watched one of their temples burn in front of me. to my surprise Johanna was making the second happiest face I had ever seen, the first being the time in the shower.
"I think I’m a bad influence on you" jack
"maybe just a little bit" Johanna
"what happened here" jacobe
"I don't know, maybe someone who managed to get out of their dungeon looted it and burned it. temples do hold a lot of valuables. or maybe other creatures got to it" Johanna
'I really am a bad influence on you' jack
'I know :)' Johanna
'did you seriously send a smiley face via telepathy?' jack
"I see" jacobe

Still, elite families control the government and social justice remains dismal. The younger population became increasingly materialistic while their parents are becoming more and more irresponsible. Worse, China and the USA has declared war against each other after a diplomatic blunder thanks to the incompetence of their respective new presidents. The world is doomed to a world war 3 while the Philippines was caught unprepared for war.
