"Ha ha ha ha ha" an aged voice laughed. The same aged voice I heard before that had the hint of warmth.
"Huh?" I open my eyes and this time, I could see the old man. His ash white hair from his head covered his face and I could barely see his eyes. His mustache and beard were long as well. The scenery around me was also pretty clear now as well. The wooden house, the serene wooden room and the beautiful wooden door that opened up already welcoming the night sky. My head started to hurt as i began to remember more and more. But how was it that I know this place?
"Boy. You look like shit. Ah ha ha ha!" the old man roared. He smacks the floor multiple times before stopping to say to me, "You have a lot of courage boy. I am thankful that you've *Bzzt* the *Bzzt*Bzzzt*"
"Eh? What are you saying old man?" I squint my eyes to get a clearer look at his face. Underneath all that hair, was a serene face of content.
The old man turns around to reach for something. It was a stick in hand. In truth, it was a wooden cane.
"G'night Jin." He said with a smile. He raised the hand that held the stick high.
"Eh? What do you mean by that? Who are y-" I was trying to ask who he was. But i felt a great force pressuring my body to shut up.
*Whap*Bang!*
The stick came down as fast as a meteor and knocks me out cold. The darkness enshrouds me once more ending the dream.

DROPPED. The story focuses less on dungeon building than on the why of dungeons and how they fit into the universal order. While I am working from a grand plot, the writing is going slice of life style because I need to do that to work out how things progress into that grand plot. The original story seed idea / synopsis is below. The Grand Tapestry protects Rhofhir from Primal Chaos by imposing Order via patterns. However, the patterns grow stiff, stagnant, and so the Tapestry is nearing a time of Unraveling. Evidence of past civilizations wiped out during previous Unravelings foreshadow the apocalyptic catastrophe looming over the world. The mages of the Arcane Asylum reach out across dimensions, searching for some way to prevent, or at least stall, the coming Unraveling. Among the many voices they find is a gifted graduate student researching machine-assisted telepathy -- and his gaming group. Lena never expected that the chance to play DnD with telepathy would result in her becoming an actual Dungeon Master, nor that her friends could become the bosses of her dungeon. This is, in many ways, her dream come true, but there's a catch: What happened to Brad, the creator of that telepathy machine?

With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit.
