《Rivalry I Live for》Chapter 22. Fiona

Infiltration mission? That’s not something I am good with...
“Gustaf, please leave, I want to speak with the adventurer alone” She said, pointing to the front door.
“Yes, boss” The man walked away and left the room as the door closed with a “thud”.
As I stood there alone with the girl covered in shadows at front of me, she had a black set of clothings that yelled “Thief”, because of all the knives she had armed around her body. Or wait, maybe she is an assassin? Well whatever…
“So, what is your name?” She asked.
Heh, “Isn’t it common courtesy that the one asking state theirs first?” I said, with a shrug.
“Ah, right, I am Fiona, leader of the Thief’s Guild and you?”
“Tony Vancleft, so far unknown adventurer”
“Oh, so how about it. Want to take the quest?” She said, arms crossed, as her long silvery hair appeared from the shadows near her thighs.
“Well, I can’t take it without knowing the details, besides as you can see with my armor, I am not really a stealthy type to infiltrate a castle”
“Hah, I thought you would say that, come with me” She said, beckoning me with her fingers as she walks away to a door to the far end of the room. Revealing her heavenly figure as I followed behind her.
Opening the door the shiny red eye woman as tall as me bowed, welcoming me into the room… Wait isn’t this a bedroom? No, don’t tell me…
Turning away, face in heat, I mumbled “Senpai… So bold”
“Eh?”
“To think… No.. Senpai, not my first…”
“EH?!” She got flustered. Kicking me into the room, I fell chin first onto the floor, pushing the soft mat with my palm, I turned around and said “So dominant… I gladly take the submissive role… but… at least… Let me prepare...”
With a clenched fist, she walked towards me… Grabbing me by my scarf and pulling me towards her cheek, she whispered to my ear “Die”
Eh?
“SLAP!” “SLAP!” “SLAP!” “SLAP!” “SLAP!”....
… I think my soul accidently left me…
…
As I sat on the decorated high grade chair, soothing my red cheeks near a fine round table that had a silky red mat covering the top… I was amazed… This is a bit too high class for a normal thief… So what is she up to?
“Here” She said, dropping some kind of armor on the table.

Isn’t that the Guardsmen’s armor of Central Desert Dunes? How did she obtain that?
“I want you to pose as a guard and infiltrate the castle” She said.
“Why? And what makes you so sure that I would do as you say?”
She grinned, “Your red status will be removed”
Whoa, that really is a good deal…. Considering my total amount of corruption… Should I ask for more?
“Anything else?”
“Hmm…” She put her delicate fingers at her shiny lips, looking at the lamps. Turning around towards me she then said “My first kiss?”
“Deal!”
Quest ObtainedA lady’s requestRank DFollow the plans of FionaReward: A kiss worth more than your lifeReward: UnknownFailure: The Thief’s Guild will be after you
“That was quick” she said, gently patting my head.
“The first reward is actually enough. Anyways, what am I suppose to do after I get there?”
She jumped on top of the table, sitting there teasingly as she played with her feet, swinging them up and down.
“Well, first take this” She said, rolling a bottle on the table with a red crystal liquid.
Item AcquiredCorruption’s Potion
“Oh, you are giving it to me now?”
“Well, I trust your intuition to make the right choice, after all… The reward is great” she smiled maliciously towards me.
“Besides, it is easier to explain after you get what I want…”
“Anyways, at night when the moon shines at the palace, you will climb the wall…”
…
Feeling the crude and cold sandstone wall with my palm, I looked up with my black eyes. A tall wall that rose to the darkest sky, illuminated by the full moon as the breeze passed, hitting the armor that the soldiers of the palace used. Taking out the grappling hook Fiona gave me, I threw it and then gripped the rope tightly until my hand was bright red.
Jumping and landing with my feet on the wall… I pulled my weight and climbed...
“Thud” standing on the floor I put back the grappling hook into my inventory and quickly took out my torch.
“When you get up get the torch out… You will take the left turn there will be a sleeping guard… go inside the tower and walk down the stairs…”
Turning to the left with my light source, I saw a roofless tower with a wooden door. A guard sat nearby, leaning to the wall with the wooden chair as he slept nicely with a key stuck to the waist.

“ZZzzzzz….”
Heh…
Walking towards the man, I grabbed the key from the undisturbed man, unlocked the door and put it back.
As I opened the door slowly, the door let out a shriek. Making the guard jump a bit, but soon after went back to a deep sleep as he tasted his own drool.
Phew… That was close… You forgot to tell me about this part Fiona…
Like instructed, I went down the staircase of the tower with the torch illuminating the darkness. As I got to the middle floor, a window to the left revealed the desert capital city with lights shining out of every window. It was if as every light was a tiny dream of every household…
Shaking my head, I turned around and walked on the highly decorated red mat that stretched to the far end, covering the floor of the hallway.
“Walk straight… 7th door to the right with this key”
Walking with my torch above my head through the hallway filled with doors on both sides, decorated with statues and paintings. I noticed that I wasn’t alone…
“Hey, how’s the guard duty going?” Soldier to the right, said to the left.
“Good, taking a last look over here before taking my break”
“Well, see you over there” He said and walked inside one of the doors.
Shit, what do I do? Feign ignorance?
With the other soldier gone, the remaining one kept creeping closer to me as I tried to avoid eye contact.
“...”
He patted my shoulder, I turned around with my torch, smiling.
“Hey, never seen you here before… You are new?”
“Ah, yeah I am just nervous that’s all...”
He patted my back, grinning “Well don’t forget to greet your superiors!”
“Ah, sorry” I saluted.
“Good, see you at the dining hall for the soldiers later” He said and started to leave.
“Yes, sir!”
Waiting for the man to leave, he suddenly turned around, looking towards me… Shit did he notice my flaw?
“Where is your weapon?” The man frowned as he inspected me.
Reaching my palm out, I said “Here”
“Huh? Isn’t this a toothpi…”
“SMACK” “Thud!”
“Diamond the fire!”
“Right!”
“...” As Diamond put out the fire, I dragging the heavy body clad in armor to the stairs, leaving him there I soon after went inside the 7th door to the right.
A dusty chamber filled with storages boxes stacked neatly on the corners with other useless and old equipment beside it were revealed.
“Remove the boxes, there should be a trapdoor” She said...
“Diamond, hold my torch”
“Roger”
Picking up the dusty boxes with both of my hands, I stacked them to the side, as it revealed a hidden trapdoor… Thief’s how the hell do they know about all this. Grabbing the torch firmly, I went down the ladder.
An eerie tunnel shrouded in darkness was revealed as I stepped onto the cobblestone like floor, eating away the darkness with my torch. I balanced my body with my palm touching the cold wall as I walked to my destination.
“Master, don’t you think that Fiona is not telling us everything?”
Heh, “I know that she is up to something, but not what… I am here to find out”
“But, isn’t it dangerous, she didn’t even tell us why her own men couldn’t go...?”
“Go big or go home, they usually say, hehe”
Ah were here… Jumping down from the edge, I landed on the balcony of a dark large room…
“Look down from the balcony… And you’ll see the chamber of gold!”
Or so she says… I don’t see the gold?
Jumping down from the balcony with the grappling hook, I removed my torch as the moonlight shone into the room from a window, revealing a stone bed?
“Where is the gold? Isn’t this … Fiona?”
Slowly moving forward to the girl with a elegant dress, sleeping tightly on the stone bed. I felt her silky and soft hair… What’s going on? She looks exactly like Fiona… Twin sisters? What more… she is ice cold.
Quest ContinuationA lady’s requestRank DGet the girl to FionaReward: A kiss worth more than your lifeReward: UnknownFailure: The Thief’s Guild will be after you… And the Queen
“Diamond, any ideas?”
“Other than she is cursed, no”
… Does the sleeping beauty method work? No, I can’t…
“Anywa…”
Suddenly tons of steps could be heard, running down from some kind of staircase nearby, trembling, I quickly took the ice cold girl and pulled myself up the grappling hook, hiding myself at the balcony with no doors . A woman spoke “Find the intruder! I know that she is here, I can feel it!”
Guards poured out into the room, searching everywhere with their torch and swords as a woman in royal dress walked closer to the stone bed in shock… “QUICKLY! The intruder can’t have gotten far FIND HER!”
“Search the whole town if you have to!”
Is that the queen? holy god she is so young… But I am a he not a she?
Anyways, I am out of here… Gotta question Fiona later.

This is my first attempt at writing a story. I am a complete beginner at this. The closest thing to an organized story I’ve ever written is essay reports back in high school. There might be syntax errors and weird language all over the place. So, apologies in advance. I’ll be trying my best to make this story as interesting as possible, and with your feedback I am sure I can make something nice out of it. Constructive criticism is appreciated. And you are welcome to comment any errors you might notice. I’ll try to fix them up as soon as I can. For now, I don’t have a schedule.
