《Rivalry I Live for》Chapter 12. Boss....

“So… Why is a bird flying around you?” Douglas asked, head tilted.
“I’m not a bird!”
“Holy shit! The bird can talk!” He said, trembling behind me.
“I told you! I’m… Not… A… Bird, I am a fairy!”
“Oh… Why didn’t you say it sooner….”
“I tried, didn’t I ?!”
“...”
“Can you guys keep quiet for a second? I am trying to concentrate here”
“Yes, boss!” He said, following me carefreely with his hands behind his head.
“So… Blue bird, what’s your name?” I asked, with a torch on my left hand illuminating the dark icy cavern as we try to find our way out.
“I don’t have one” She said pouting and snuggling inside my warm hoodie.
Huh? “Really? Want me to give you a name?”
“Sure! Give me a cute one!”
Heh…”Blue bird”
“Nooo!” She retaliated by poking with her icy fingers on my cheek.
“Blue bird, I am just kidding. Since you came from the weapon, lets call you Diamond”
“Eh, I like that a lot more!” Diamond agreed, tongue out towards Douglas....
“So anyways, you said that you could fight with me, what can you do?”
“I can cast any sorts of ice spells, you name it I got it. Though, it comes with a price”
“Oh, what could that be?”
“I share your mana points and health points”
WHAT? NOOOOOOOOOO! Now I need to keep my eyes on her all the time...
“Master, are you sad?”
Huh? “No…”
“But! What’s with that sulk?!” She asked, poking my cheek once again.
“Nothing…”
“...”
…
As we walked through the icy tunnel covered in shadows, whacking every skeleton that passes by with a instant death, shattering them into pieces. Surprisingly, no experience could be obtained. Was my level to high? No, it doesn’t matter. I can see light ahead of me. It is best to extinguish my torch, or the flickering might give away. Especially if what is beyond there is what I believe is there.

Boss Room Entered
“Stop” I said, arm blocking the way.
“What’s wrong, we are finally outside soon?” Douglas asked, while Diamond looked weird at me.
“We are close to the boss room…” I said, they shuddered.
“Wha.. what do we do? We have no healer, no tank, no real group at all” He said, sulking.
… “First we check the room, then we decide if it is futile… Just be quiet and follow me slowly”
He nodded, while Diamond hid in my hoodie.
Sticking my head out of the tunnel, a bright light shone down onto me. It was a enormous circular room or rather a platform surrounded by a icy wall with a ice staircase towards the sky. And there it lies, a sleeping giant, a white fluffy yeti on the middle of the room. Cuddling with the icy floor and snow.
I turned around towards Douglas, grabbed him and said “Okay Douglas. There is a staircase upwards starting from the right side of the tunnel exit. We will escape quietly upwards and avoid the sleeping lion at the middle”
He nodded.
“Lets go, don’t forget to check where you walk”
…
As we tried to escape upwards towards the blue sky. Climbing the icy and thin staircase stuck to the wall towards the sky. Looking upwards, the height should be around 100 meters. Currently we were at around 30 meters, as we kept climbing slowly.
Douglas started to pant…
“Douglas, you can do it, if you can run from a Yeti before, you can climb the stairs”
“I am trying”
“It’s just that… I am scared of the height”
Oh noo….
“Don’t look down, keep climbing, you can do it”
“I am…”
“It’s just tha….” He tried to say, but quickly jumped up to the next staircase.

“CRACK”
And there it goes… The ice staircase collapsed and fell towards the icy platform with the Yeti sleeping on it.
“BAM” “Splinter”
“Don’t look! CLIMB!”
As we quickly ran up towards the sky, I could hear a loud roar from below that made the staircase tremble. More fell down, but started to fall towards the platform, but still it was enough to climb.
“GOOO!” I said, to the Douglas looking backwards as he climbed.
“Don’t look back! Just go!”
“ROOOOOAAAAR”
“Tony! The Yeti is creating a snowball” Diamond warned me from the hoddie.
Shit! Pick up pace goddammit! We are still too far away, I need some kind of diversion!
“Diamond, distract it or something!”
“Yes master! Casting ice bolts that cost 20 mana each” She said, as a chirping sharp ice ball was created out of thin air next to me.
A piercing sound could be heard, as multiple ice bolts cut through the chilly air and flew towards the Yeti.
“Master… Your intellect stat isn’t enough, the ice bolts just tingled”
Wait a minute, you said nothing about sharing stats…
“Sorry, master, I forgot that I also share with your stats…”
EEEEK! “RUUUN QUICK!”
“I AMMM!”
“Master, he is about to throw it!”
SHIT! Axe appear!
As the axe appeared on my hand, in panic I threw it towards the Yeti, that staggered him and the gigantic snowball broke on the floor.
“I bought us some time! Keep running!”
“ROOOAAARRR!!!!!” The Yeti roared angrily, while quickly creating a new snowball.
Now around the height of 60 meters, another snowball was about to be thrown.
Hoping that I could interrupt the Yeti’s snowball again, I threw my axe that appeared at my grip with my will.
My legendary axe cut the air as it flew intensely toward the Yeti… With a grin the Yeti just jumped gently to the side and laughed.
“Shit…”
A strong wind caused by the large snowball, forced me to a standstill with my back on the cold icy wall and broke the staircase at front of me… Shit…
“Boss!” Douglas called me, from the other side safely.
“Goo! Heavy Baggages just cripples me!”
“But boss!”
“Just tell a few adventures to come here, I’ll go hide inside the tunnels!” I said and went down the staircase as the Yeti created another snowball.
“Boss…” Tears dropped from his eyes, turning around fiercely with a new mission, he kept going towards the freedom.
… I am so screwed after all…
“Master, incoming snowball!”
“I can see!”
“CRASH!”
31 Damage taken
Surprisingly the damage was low, is it because of the high level armor and the cold resistance? Shit, No time to think about it. I need my axe to stop my falling!
Piercing the sharp end of my ice axe into the icy wall. I slowly stopped my acceleration and jumped off the wall to land on the icy platform. But why wasn’t the Yeti attacking me when I am vulnerable?
Searching for the Yeti, I saw that he stood near the tunnel with a large boulder…
“Nonononononono!” I pleaded, throwing my axe towards the Yeti multiple times...
He blocked the entrance to the boss room… I am totally screwed.

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
