《Ruler of Realms》Chapter 11: I'm pissed for some reason

Chapter 11
Kei sat on the bed and crossed his legs. He took a deep breath before circulating his magic energy within his body. The magic energy slowly entered his body and flowed with his blood. After the magic energy circulated six times, Kei aura emanated clearly from his body. His closed eye emitted a black light from the gaps. He raised his eyelids to reveal his pure black eyes.
[A TRUE EYE!!] Remy’s shocked voice came from the necklace. It shone before finally dimming down, Remy entering back into Kei’s mental room.
Kei stopped and asked her. ‘What’s that?’
[To explain it, I need to tell you how abilities work. Abilities or Innate abilities are Humanity’s specialty, with Angels having their magical affinity and Devils with their superior physique and demonic magic. Innate abilities are also called unique abilities because they're different from the 5 common abilities. Some Innate abilities have appeared and been recorded in history. Your ability is one of them.]
‘My ability has appeared before? I know you’re old but damn.’ Kei was shocked but passed it off with a joke.
[I AM NOT THAT OLD!! I AM ONLY 17 YEARS AND 364 DAYS OLD.]
‘Sorry, I was just joking madam.’ Kei coughed and apologized.
[Don’t call me madam! Anyways, your ability is a real enigma. It appeared throughout history but it was always known as a true eye despite having different abilities whenever it appears. It once appeared on a magical genius and he called it the Eye of Genius. It was a very powerful ability and he was the one who made the ability famous.]
Kei then asked her ‘Why did he name it Eye of Genius if it’s already named True Eye?’
[That’s because the name is connected to its abilities. Imagine an ability named Fire control, pretty straightforward right? Now tell me what is True Eye? Even the owner doesn’t know why it’s called True Eye, because he himself never raised its mastery to Perfect Mastery. To raise an ability to the highest level, you need to know how to use it. But the genius or other users of this ability before only unlocked one part of its ability, hence why they opted to change the name.]
‘So, I can change the name too?’
[Well, you do you, but I suggest you reach Perfect Mastery and learn why it’s called the True Eye. Ah! I remembered another reason why that ability is so famous, the users back then never made it past Initial Mastery and it was already so strong.] Remy told him.
‘Perfect Mastery? Does that mean I can’t leave Initial Mastery too? I just realized that within the many years that you’d trained me, you never taught me anything important.’
[You made me realize that too, what a useless teacher Krie was. Mastery just relates to how much you’ve learned about your ability and how much you’ve mastered using it. There are 3 stages to it. Initial Mastery, Advanced Mastery, Perfect Mastery.]
Kei understood and nodded. ‘You’re the useless one, you’re my teacher, not Krie.’ He rebuked her.
Remy was about to ignite and shout when Fether entered the room followed by an elderly doctor.

“How are you feeling?” The doctor asked Kei to which Kei swung his arm around and answered. “All good, when can I leave here?” Kei jumped on the bed and punched the air.
Hohoho
The doctor laughed and he told Kei. “I’m envious of kids these days, so energetic. You still need to stay for a day here because we need to check your conditions but other than that you can leave early tomorrow.” He reassured Kei before leaving.
Fether sat beside Kei and asked him. “What was that? You never told me you have a unique ability.”
“Well, I learned about it at the same time as you. I didn’t know what my ability was, it just, you know suddenly came to me.” He tried to explain it to him.
“I’ll show you my abilities later, all of them. So, you show me yours as well, deal?” Fether seems oddly excited.
[What does he mean by all my abilities? Doesn’t he only have the heal?] Kei heard Remy’s curious voice.
Kei nodded and then Fether stood up and left. “Tomorrow, when I’m out let’s spar again. No holding back this time.” Fether turned around and gave him a thumbs up.
‘Fether has three abilities that I know so far, Healing, the cloning, and then the time he turned into lightning.’
[You mean he has 2 unique abilities?!? He’s an irregular? And you’re the leader? How did you scam him?] Remy’s voice went from shock to doubting Kei’s capabilities.
‘What do you mean scam? I beat him fair and square. I’ll show you tomorrow.’ Kei was angry and wanted to prove himself.
[All right all right, you’re strong enough to beat an irregular, but that’s only for now, when he masters his abilities, you’ll get rekted if you fight him.]
‘Are you sure? Even if my ability is at Perfect Mastery?’ Kei doubted her words and chose to believe in himself.
[Abilities evolve twice but your ability is already perfect so I don’t really know how you’ll raise it to Perfect Mastery. That’s also the reason why even though it is so strong, no one ever used it to its maximum potential, because no one can even imagine how it’ll look like.]
‘Enough said, I’ll show you tomorrow.’ Kei seems pissed at Remy praising Fether so much.
…
Kei was just released from the hospital when he dragged Fether to the combat grounds.
“What’s with the hastiness? Can’t we eat first? It’s 8 in the morning, I’m hungry.” Fether complained to Kei.
“I’m really pissed for some reason.” Kei answered him before entering the gymnasium. The building was the same as always, but since it’s so early in the morning the building wasn’t as crowded as it was before.
Kei entered one of the platforms and this time took the initiative to call Fether. Fether wasn’t that interested and wanted to eat food first, he turned around to leave the building.
“Where are you going, Fether?” Kei shouted at him from the platform, garnering the attention from other people.
“Going to eat breakfast, I’m hungry.” He walked towards the door while waving his hand.

“If you win, I’ll pay for any of your expenses for a week. And you’ll be the Captain for 3 instances.” Kei wanted to tempt him. Unexpectedly, Fether bit the bait. “Deal, you sure you want the captain deal? I’ll be bringing you to other countries if that happens.”
“Don’t worry, that’s all after you win.” Kei provocation was the last straw that finally broke the camel’s back.
Fether stretched and warmed up before entering the platform. “Go all out, I really hate that arrogance of yours, I’ll break it today.”
They went all out from the start, trading slashes with blows. A moment later, Kei’s body was full of cuts while Fether was full of bruises.
Fether held his stance, suddenly turning into three. Kei smiled and circulated his magic energy, suddenly disappearing.
‘I can’t sense him! He’s not moving really fast, he actually disappeared. Not only just my vision but I can’t even sense his Ki or Magic Energy.’ Fether was shocked and immediately used the Barrier of the Sea. The three bodies combined formed a triangle with their backs against each other, defending each other’s blind spot.
They all have their eyes closed when Kei suddenly appeared in front of one of the bodies. The range of the barrier this time increased to 6 meters radius. When Kei entered the radius, Fether suddenly slashed at him, forcing Kei to jump back. ‘The radius increased!’
“Stop defending like that and attack, you’ll never win like this.” Kei was still pissed from yesterday and provoked Fether into charging at him. His words failed as Fether just sneered at him. “If you can’t even break this then you’re not that strong.” Unexpectedly, Kei was the one pissed off.
Kei disappeared again causing Fether to raise his defense. This time Kei in the space between the three Fether.
Fether was shocked by his re-appearance and reacted half a beat later. When he came to, one of his clones was already flying out of the platform. The clone then faded into thin air.
“Is this strong enough?” Fether’s sword hit nothing but air as Kei disappeared again. He heard Kei’s voice to his right so he slashed there when Kei’s fist hit him from the left.
“I’m still really pissed off and I didn’t want to use this but, stifling your feeling is bad for the body, as they say.” Kei vanished into thin air. In Kei’s vision, everything turned into black and white. He dashed towards Fether punching him again and again. After a moment, he returned to the real world.
Kei enters a black and white world whenever he uses his ability and returns when his magical energy runs out. Magical energy doesn’t exist in the monochrome world, when Kei runs out of magical energy, his circuit falls apart and his ability disappears, forcing Kei into the real world and making him circulate and gather magical energy once again.
Fether stood there, with blood dripping from his mouth and his clothes drenched in blood. “Why not just give up?” Kei spoke once more. Fether didn’t respond and just healed himself.
Fether once again raised his sword and looked at Kei. “You’re not the only one who can turn invisible.” With that, Fether used his second unique ability. Wind gathered around him, slowly erasing his figure and turning him invisible. Fether assimilated with the wind, combining with it, raised his damage as the wind was now sharp enough to cut Kei.
Kei disappeared with Fether, within the monochrome world. Fether was as clear as a lamp in a dark room. Since magical energy doesn’t exist in this world, the ability that covered Fether also disappeared.
Kei punched Fether, blowing him back. His magical energy then ran out, forcing him back to the real world. Fether sat back up, blood flowing from his nose. “I give up! I don’t want to get beaten unconscious again, I’m not your punching bag.” He raised both of his hands and surrendered.
Kei nodded his head and proudly said to Remy. ‘See, I’m stronger than him.’
Remy who was inside Kei’s mental space smiled. ‘He’s really jealous, isn’t he?’ She laughed cheerfully and told Kei. [All right! I believe you, you’re very strong.]
With that, Kei went to Fether and helped him stand up. Fether patted his clothes and healed himself. The spilled blood flowing back to Fether still dumbfounds Kei every time he sees it.
They didn’t give any attention to the astounded spectators who watched their whole fight. They quickly went outside to eat.
…
Kei and Fether were eating in a restaurant. Fether then asked Kei. “Where do you use your money?”
“Hmm!? I use it for my hotel and food.” Kei answered him.
“How about you buy some weapons and armor for yourself? Even if you don’t use weapons, carrying one or two wouldn’t hurt, and armors are useful whatever the situation is. Let’s go to the Magic Market today.” Fether persuaded Kei to buy.
“Sure, I have money to spend.” Kei nodded and stood up. “Pay for my food.” With that, he smiled and left the building first. ‘A good armor would be helpful and probably a short sword since that’s what I primarily used when training with Krie.’
Fether shook his head and paid reluctantly. He went outside to see Kei waiting there. “Follow me.”
After riding a taxi and walking for some time, they reached their destination. Shops lined full of weapons and armors. Ranging from guns to swords and heavy armor to light clothes.
At the end of the street was a massive building, named ‘Treasured Castle.’ Even though it looked nothing like a castle but more of a modern building.
Fether entered the building followed by Kei. Inside, Kei saw weapons and armors displayed. ‘Woah, there’s lots here. Remy, do you know how to choose a good one?’
[You held an enchanted weapon before, so you can probably feel what can endure magical energy and what can’t.]
Kei nodded and started to choose from the ones on display.
“So even peasants can enter this store? I’m sure you can’t even afford the cheapest item here.” Suddenly, an unpleasant voice came from the entrance, annoying Kei.
‘Here comes the petty villain.’
